Recently, the computer vision such as part measurement, and product inspection is very popular to achieve the factory automation since the labor cost is dramatically increasing. In this paper, the diameter and the length of rope are measured by CCD camera which is orthogonally mounted on the ceiling. Two parameters which are the diameter and the length of rope are used to measure the weight of rope. If the weight of rope is reached to predetermined weight, the information is transmitted to PLC(programmable logic control) to cut the rope on the wheel. The cutting machine cuts the rope according to the information obtained from the CCD camera. To measure the diameter and length of rope on real time, the searching space for image segmentation is restricted the predetermined area according to the camera calibration position. Finally, to estimate the weight of rope, the knowledge base system which depends on the diameter, the length of rope, and weight relation between these information are constructed according to diameters of rope. This method contributes to achieve the factory automation, and reduce the production cost since the operators are unnecessary to measure the weight of rope by try-and-error method.
This study was done to investigate the relationship between the perception of body image, body weight satisfaction or dietary behavior and self-rated health status in Korean college students. Subjects, 285 college students, were divided into three groups (healthy, normal, and unhealthy) according to the answer for the self-rated health question. Information about demographic status, self-rated health condition, height and weight, perception of body image, satisfaction of body weight, concern for body weight control, dietary behavior, nutritional knowledge, and health-related characteristics collected by a self-reported questionnaire. The proportion of men and women in each group was not significantly different. The academic year, major, experience of nutritional education, and type of residence were not significantly related with self-rated health but the pocket money range was significantly associated (p<0.05) with self-rated health. The proportion of subjects rated their health as unhealthy was the lowest in 210-300 thousand won pocket money range and was increased in less than 210 thousand won or over 300 thousand won pocket money ranges. There were no significant differences for age, height, weight and BMI between the groups. The body image perception and body weight satisfaction levels of healthy group was significantly higher than those of unhealthy group (p<0.01 and p<0.001, respectively), but the level of concern for body weigh1 control in healthy subjects was significantly lower than that in unhealthy subjects (p<0.05). The proportion of subjects reported as healthy was significantly increased with increased frequencies of following food behaviors; weekly use of protein foods (p<0.01), vegetables (p<0.05) and dairy products (p<0.01), and food habits such as "regularity of meal time" (p<0.01), "eating in moderation" (p<0.05), and "eating breakfast" (p<0.001). Overall results suggested that the college students have tended to have a better perception of health when they have better body image perception, body weight satisfaction and dietary behaviors.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to compare the effectiveness of multi interventional package (MIP) and lifestyle interventions (LI) on physiological parameters of women with metabolic syndrome, to compare the effectiveness of MIP and LI on biochemical parameters of women with metabolic syndrome and to compare the effectiveness of MIP and LI on socio-psychological parameters of women with metabolic syndrome. Methods: A quasi experimental nonequivalent control group design with two experimental groups and one control group was used to collect data from 60 self-help group women. Samples were selected by multistage sampling. Reflexology foot massage, dietary modification, moderate intensity exercise and structured education were given to MIP group and dietary modification, moderate intensity exercise and structured education were given to LI group for 12 weeks. Control group received routine care. Demographic and clinical data sheets were used to collect basic information. Knowledge was assessed by a knowledge questionnaire. Physiological (weight, body mass index, waist circumference and blood pressure) and biochemical parameters (HDL, triglycerides and FBS) were assessed before and after the intervention. Results: The study found significant change in the physiological and biochemical parameters of metabolic syndrome as well as knowledge among the MIP group and LI group compared to the control group (p <.001). Conclusion: MIP and LI are effective in controlling the parameters of metabolic syndrome. Hence the guidance may be provided to women with metabolic syndrome for adopting necessary lifestyle changes as well as reflexology foot massage to control the physiological and biochemical parameters of metabolic syndrome.
A H$_{\infty}$ control techniques with roll eccentricity filter is proposed to alleviate the effect of entry thickness variation and roll eccentricity occurred in rolling stand itself of tandem cold mills. A robust controller to the disturbances is designed using H$_{\infty}$ control techniques, which can reflect the input direction of disturbances and knowledge of disturbance spectrum in the frequency domain. And, non-standard H$_{\infty}$ control problem caused by selection of weight function having poles on j.omega. axis is discussed. The evaluation for the resultant controller composed by H$_{\infty}$ synthesis is done through computer simulations. The effectiveness of the proposed method is compared to those of the conventional LQ synthesis method and a feedforward controller against roll eccentricity, which was already studied.ied.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of knowledge about the harmfulness of smoking and attitude toward smoking temptation for middle school students. Methods: A survey was conducted in this study on 745 students from 12 middle schools in the Y City. Data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 12.0 using descriptive statistics, t?test, ANCOVA, Scheffe's test and multiple regression analysis. Results: There was statistically significant difference in knowledge about the harmfulness of smoking (F=2.88, p<.05) and attitude toward smoking (F=54.61, p<.001). And there was statistically significant difference in smoking temptations among tempting factors such as negative mood of individual (F=63.61, p<.001), positive mood of social situation (F=67.08, p<.001), habitualness (F=57.68, p<.001), weight control (F=33.01, p<.001), and others' smoking (F=73.13, p<.001). Conclusion: These results suggest that smoking?cessation programs to enhance the effectiveness of nursing interventions should be tailored to the level of smoking temptation and that educational programs should be developed for middle school students.
This study was conducted using a self boarding questionnaire survey to investigate body image perception, dietary habits and nutrient intakes according to interest level in health of female university students in Masan area (n=302). The subjects were divided into 2 groups according to interest level in health ('High' group, n=101, 'Low' group, n=201). Body image according to BMI was significantly different regardless of interest level in health (p<0.001). The answer percentage indicated that the purpose of weight control is health, regular use of the scale, and regular exercise were significantly higher in the high group (p<0.05). Nutrient knowledge score (p<0.01) and food frequency score (p<0.001) were significantly higher in the high group (p<0.01). There were no significant differences in nutrient intake, but intake, NAR and INQ of vitamin C were significantly higher in the high group (p<0.001). Nutrition knowledge score (p<0.01), food intake frequency score (p<0.01), and INQ and NAR of vitamin C (p<0.01) were positively correlated with the interest level in health. These results will be useful as a basis for the development of effective nutrition education programs in order to increase interest level in health and apply well in real life what have learned through the correct nutrition knowledge.
The purpose of this study were to develop an web-based education program for Lung cancer patients and to test its effects on patients' self-care knowledge, compliance to medical regimen, nutrition status and pain. The program was developed by the following process: first, Lung cancer patients demand on the web-based program was investigated. and second, the program was developed with the help of various reference books and then validation of experts group. last, educations effects on the patients is evaluated and compared the differences in self-care knowledge, compliance to medical regimen, nutrition status and pain between on experimental group and a control group on before discharge 1day and 3weeks after. SPSS/Win 11.0 program was used for data analysis. It was proven with $x^2$ test and t-test, and Pearson Correlation coefficient, and Chronbach's alpha coefficient were done for the reliability of measuring instruments. 1. The summary of the Program development is as follows. The program is based on patients' questionnaire and reference material and is made for users friendly. Not only Bigger font size and bright colors but also illustrations or pictures were adopted to help enhance patients' understanding. 2. The summary of the study results is as follows. 1) Compared with control group, the web-based educated experimental group showed a statistical significant difference on self-care knowledge, Especially disease, radiation treatment, medication & analgesics, chemotherapy side effect, but there was no significant difference in the field of chemotherapy, in the fields of operation, diet & general knowledge. 2) Compared with control group, the web-based educated experimental group showed a statistical significant difference on compliance to medical regimen, especially in the field of follow up care, everyday life, diet, but there was no significant difference in the field of medication, exercise. 3) Compared with control group, web-based educated experimental group showed no significant difference in nutrition status, but partially significant difference in body weight. 4) Compared with control group, the web-based educated experimental group showed no significant difference in pain level. 5) The significantly positive correalation self-care knowledge with the compliance to medical regimen. 6) Users satisfaction with the web-based education program of the contents quality, the level of recommendation to others, content layout, medical information quality, but interesting got a low mark.
This study was designed to develop a website for providing nutrition information and education for college women and young women. The website focuses on two topics ; general nutrition and desirable weight control. This program is located at http : // www.ezydiet.co.kr. This program is composed of 5 major sections. The first two sections were designed to provide information ; one for general nutrition, and the other for providing information regarding weight control. The first section includes information regarding young adult women's diet, nutrition standards, such as the RDA or Korean Food Pyramid, drinking and smoking. The second section coveres information regarding desirable control, foods with high or low calories, eating disorders and popularly used dieting methods. The third section is for simple nutrition assessment, consisting of assessment of ideal body weight and obesity, energy requirements, and eating habits. The fourth section was designed to introduce and help users to apply behavioral modification techniques, such as monitoring, goal setting, stimulus control and reinforcement. The final section was designed for meal planning, by introducing a food exchange list and menu examples for one week. The characteristics of this web-based program are as follows ; 1) provide nutrition information systematically, 2) involve sections for the participation of the user, 3) include food pictures to help understanding of nutrition information, 4) include management modules for some sections to revise or update the information. One-hundred and ten female university students participated in the evaluation of this website. The evaluation results were favorable. About 90% of subjects rated that this program covers major topics 'well ' or 'very well', and that it was 'easy'to 'very easy'to understand the contents on website. Two-thirds of subjects rated quite positively on questions regarding attractiveness, overall quality and technical quality of website. In addition, about three-fourths of subjects answered that this website was helpful in increasing nutrition knowledge and in applying nutrition information into daily life. These results suggested the possibility of using a website as a means of providing nutrition information and education for young adult women.

Quality control of science teachers seems to be one of the most important tasks to improve the quality of science education in Korea. The purposes of this study, as a survey, were to identify characteristics of good science teachers and to make an outline of preservice teacher education curriculum for cultivating the characteristics from inserivce secondary science teachers. A questionnaire was developed for this study and distributed to 176 inservice teachers. It had three parts: 1) characteristics of good science teachers, 2) weights of preservice curriclum areas, and 3) weights of college courses. The means and standard deviations of teachers' responses were calculated. To test the differences between teacher variables, t-tests were executed. The inservice teachers perceived that the junior-high school teacher's characteristics should be different from the senior-high school teacher's. Characteristics, such as enthusiasm toward teaching or students, subject knowledge, content selection and organizing skill, teaching techniques, and scientific worldview were ranked within top five of good science teacher's chracteristics. The teachers' perception about preservice curriculum were as follows: 1) present weight of liberal arts area should be reduced: 2) weight of content area for junior-high school teachers should be different from that for senior-high school teachers: 3) present weight of pedagogy area should be increased: 4) present weight of science education area should be increased: and 5) many courses in pedagogy and sciencd education areas need to be changed, Based on the data and disussion, a conceptual model for preservice teacher education curriculum was proposed.

In order to meet the requirement for higher thickness accuracy in tandem cold rolling processes, it is strongly necessary to have good performance in control units. To meet this requirement, this paper suggested an output regulating control system with a roll-eccentricity estimator for each rolling stand of tandem cold mills. Considering entry thickness variation and roll eccentricity simultaneously as the major disturbances, a synthesis of multivariable control systems was presented based on H$\infty$ control theory, which could reflect the knowledge of input direction and spectrum of disturbance signals on design. Then, to effectively reject roll eccentricity, a weight function having some poles on the imaginary axis was introduced. This lead to a non-standard H$\infty$ control problem, and the design procedures for solving this problem were analytically presented. The effectiveness of the proposed control method was evaluated through computer simulations and compared to that of the conventional linear quardratic control and feedforward control methods for roll eccentricity.
