BOM(Bill of Materials) is a listing or description of raw materials, parts, and assemblies that define a product. In manufacturing companies that produce various products with short life cycles, it is very important to manage the BOM of products with various options and versions efficiently. BOM information should be required to share among the departments of engineering, production control, material purchasing, cost management, and shop floor within a manufacturing company. In order to share BOM information efficiently, information system based on WWW(World Wide Web) should be developed. Thus, this paper models and implements Web-based Generic BOM Management System (WGBMS) for management of a number of variant products which are consisted of standard parts under ATO(Assemble To Order) production environment. Also, object-oriented methodology was used to model a generic BOM and phases of navigational design and interface design were introduced to implement the prototype of WGBMS. And Object-Relational Database Management System (ORDBMS) was used to construct the WGBMS database.

The international standard STEP for representation and exchange of product model data, and CORBA as a standard for distributed object computing environment are expected to play very important role in the future manufacturing environment. Platform independent network programming language Java is also becoming a standard environment for developing Internet/Intranet applications. Furthermore, the ObjectWeb environment supported by the combination of CORBA and Java technology provides very efficient and convenient way of developing network applications and user interfaces. In this research, we developed a framework for the real time sharing of STEP data and 3D conference in the ObjectWeb environment and tested our proposal by implementing prototype software which we call STEPShare.

It has been so many XML applications by development of Web. Also, it keeps going to sore and manage them in object-oriented methods. It is widely used methods using UMLamong them. There are several software to support UML which has diagrams and generates object oriented code easily.It is proposed framework to map from various XML applications to UML/OCL for supporting efficient object based management of Web documents.

The current information system audit merely inspects a web based information system by focusing on checking items that are extracted from structured and information engineering model and object-oriented component model. As a result, the checking item of web contents and design is inadequate. This paper aims to extract audit framework in order to strengthen the audit of web contents and design during the development of the web based information system and to suggest checking items based on audit framework. For this, the web development process and web site evaluation model were studied, compared, and analyzed with the current information system development audit. From a result of the survey, it was found that the adequacy of the suggested audit framework and audit checking items is above the average value. It is believed that the suggested audit framework is helpful for the audit of web based information system.

This paper describes the development of 3-D web graphic library for dynamic web graphic design. The 3-D web graphic library developed in this per supports creation of 3-D objects like cube and sphere objects, elimination of hidden line and surface, and the shading of diffuse and specular reflections. It provides, in drawing, perspective projection of an object depth first sort of multiple objects, and wire frame and solid models. It also supports texture mapping function for realistic and dynamic web application in application software. Each created 3-D object gives functions for the scaling, translation, and rotation of itself. It can be used for the development of dynamic web application software and the advertisement of information for business and tourism as a 3-D web graphic library engine. It is written in 'Java' language and runs on web browsers with Java virtual machine without any dependancy of client computer system.

This paper describes an experimental embedded tiny web server system that monitors the processing of manufacture using the Internet. The object of this study is developing of an embedded tiny web server that connects the stand-alone machines in factory to the Internet. Using the World Wide Web (WWW), we proffer user-friendly environments to users. Anyone with a web browser may easily access the processing of manufacture in the factory. Through connecting different network system, our web server extends the private networks to the Internet, the global networks. Our embedded tiny web server is ideal for process control, building and facility management system, factory automation and even home automation.

This study is aimed at the development of a comprehensive web-based partial differential equation solver (WPDES) using multidimensional finite element method, which can be operated on the basis of world wide web. Overall issues of engineering and environmental information management and facility control could be implemented using this solver. This paper describes the development technique of the model, which is first part on development of partial differential equation solver. Conventional commercial general solver of computational fluid dynamics problems were investigated. All the relevant environmental models were analyzed to develop integrated environmental management system using WPDES. The governing equations and the parameters of investigated models were analyzed and integrated. Several numerical modules were invented for each partial differential term in partial differential equation of many related modeling problems. Each module was coded in the fashion of object oriented method, and was combined independently for the overall governing equation. WPDES has unique characteristic, which can analyze the problem through the suitable combination of modules without development of additional models for each environment problem with different governing equation, main variables, and parameters.

Purpose: To develop a web-based program on blood-borne infection control and to examine the effect of the newly developed program on perceived threat of diseases, knowledge, preventive health behaviors for blood-borne infections, and incidence rates of accidental needle sticks and other sharp object injuries in nurses. Methods: The program was developed through the processes of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research design involved a nonequivalent control group for pretest and posttest experiments. The setting was a 745-bed general hospital located in Korea. Results: The program was designed and developed after consulting previous studies. After development of the program was completed, it was evaluated and revised by a panel of experts. The total score for perceived threat of diseases, knowledge, preventive health behaviors in the experimental group was significantly higher compared to the control group (p<.05). The incidence rates for needle sticks and other sharp object injuries in the experimental group were significantly lower compared to the control group (p<.05). Conclusion: Application of a Web-based, blood-borne infection control program is effective, and can be expanded to other healthcare workers who also have a high risk of blood-borne infections.

This study proposes the Web-based GIS system based on distributed object management and conceptualise system architecture and its methods specifications through UML(unified modeling language). By using class diagram and creating prototype based on UML and reverse engineering, our conceptual shape file model is proposed to illustrate an integrated architecture. Through system analysis and software configuration management, this study enables to not only improve pliable capabilities for problematic domains and increase abilities for analytical domains when user requirements are dynamic, but also assist effective and consistent maintenances of large software systems.

In this paper, we proposed an efficient document conversion mechanism to provide a adaptive web document to mobile terminals. We also proposed a RHTML(Reduced HTML) to archive the adaptive tag reduction. Markup error correction process in the proposed adaptive document conversion mechanism converts a HTML(HyperText Markup Language) document into a XML(Extensible Markup Language) application document. This. process makes web document easy to handle with a DOM (Document Object Mode)) as the tree model and removes the hardware overhead in mobile terminals. Also, tag reduction process provides the adaptive web document with three DTD(Document Type Definition)s in the RHTML.
