Development of an EDMS for R&D projects to develop new rolling stocks (철도차량 연구개발을 통합관리하기 위한 공학 DB 구축에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, an engineering database management system(EDMS) has been developed to support the system engineering for design of the high speed titling train to be put into the conventional lines. The developed system can be operated on client-server or web circumstances. To accomplish the concurrent engineering in design of the rolling stocks, this system has been fully equipped with a powerful viewer and a postprocessor for 3D CAD data or FE results. The system was tested using the engineering data produced during carrying out the G7 project to design KHST(Korean High Speed Train) in a crashworthy viewpoint. Through this example, it is shown that the system should be powerfully applied to improving the performance of the system engineering.

  • Recent development of IT industry including smart phones and communication technologies has resulted in rapid growth of Internet of Things (IoT) technology and relevant markets. The access to IoT is becoming easier thanks to the boards and IoT products, such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Large-scale business sites use IoT technology to manage inventories, but small-scale business sites do not. In the present study, We ported Linux-based Raspbian to Raspberry Pi, It utilizes web server communication to control the Arduino through the application We used a color sensor to figure out the kind of inventory. We also built a database using MySQL to store the data. We used raspberry pi to check whether the proposed system works and apply it to small-scale business.

  • Currently many researches are going on a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) which can handle a large number of image data very efficiently. However, the price of those systems are very expensive to a small and medium hospital. In this paper, we developed a PC based Mini-PACS at a low price with a high performance. The main components of the designed system are: Image processing and display for a diagnosis, Client/Server database management system, Multi-monitor display system, Connection through the World Wide Web with Common Gateway Interface.

  • We studied a model house system on cyberspace using JAVA and VRML in this paper. In the system, users can not only browse the model house using a web browser but also choose options that they want to install in the final house and the chosen options are combined with the figure of the model house on the terminal window in real time. In addition, the information of the chosen options are transferred to a database on a server machine at the construction company and the company can use the information for the customer management. The developed system can be used by a simple EC system since it includes duplex information paths.

  • Manufacturing technologies of compound semiconductor are similar to the process of memory device, but management technology of manufacturing process for compound semiconductor is not enough developed. Semiconductor manufacturing environment also has been emerged as mass customization and open foundry service so integrated manufacturing system is needed. In this study we design the integrated manufacturing system for compound semiconductor fabrication t hat has monitoring of process, reduction of lead-time, obedience of due-dates and so on. This study presents integrated manufacturing system having database system that based on web and data acquisition system. And we will implement them in the actual compound semiconductor fabrication.

  • Recently, as interest in health increases, the wearable market that can collect various biometric information is expanding. In addition, telemedicine and healthcare services through these bio-signals are expected to become common. In this paper, we introduce a service that can store bio-signals collected through IoT equipment in a database and monitor them in real time through the web. By implementing a system for collecting and storing biometric data and real-time monitoring, it can be utilized for various health management diagnosis.

  • Currently, the number of visitors to Oreum is increasing and the trend of tourism is changing rapidly. The motivation for visiting Oreum is also changing from relaxation and pleasure to experiences. In line with this change, people visit the mountain by selecting motivation such as marriage and family photos, not just exercise. However, it is difficult to search for an Oreum that matches the tourists' motivation. In order to solve these problems, we proposed a system that provides the association between Oreum and concept based on the number of search results from web search engines in real time. User can select the desired date to check the associations for past or selected periods and concepts. Through this research, visitors to Oreum, Jeju's natural heritage, can contribute to the development of tourism in Jeju. In the future, the concept of visiting beaches or seas, not just Jeju Oreum, can be provided. In this work, search results from websites are collected, stored in a database, and search results of Oreum and concept are provided on the homepage to classify Oreum trends.

  • This paper deals with the WASPIFA (Web-based Assistant System for Protein-protein Interaction and Function Analysis) system that can provide the comprehensive information on Protein-protein interaction and function concerned with function analysis. Different from existing systems for protein function and protein-protein interaction analysis, which provide fragmentary information restricted to specific field, our system furnishes end-user with comprehensive and synthetic information on the input sequence to be analyzed, including function and annotation information, domain information, and interaction relationship information. The synthetic information that our system contains as local databases has been extracted from many resources related to function, annotation, motif and domain by various pre-processing. Employing our system, end-users can evaluate and judge the synthetic results to do protein interaction and function analysis effectively. In addition, the WASPIFA system is equipped with automatic system management and data update function that facilitates system manager to maintain and manage it efficiently.

An Effective Path Table Method Exploiting the Region Numbering Technique (영역 할당 기법을 이용한 효율적인 경로 테이블 기법)

  • Since XML is emerging as the de facto standard for exchanging and representation of data on the web, the amount of XML data has rapidly increased. Thus, the need for effective store and retrieval of U data has arisen. Since the existing techniques such as XRel which is an XML storage and management technique using RDBMS simply record the existing all label paths, diverse classes of label path expressions could not be efficiently supported. In this paper, we present a technique which supports storage and retrieval for XML data using RDBMS efficiently compared with the existing approaches. Since the proposed technique keeps the XML path index on the relational database and replace label paths with path identifiers, diverse XML queries can be evaluated compared with existing approaches. Also, the proposed technique does not require the modification of the relational database engine and consumes the disk space less. Our experimental result demonstrates the better query performance compared with existing techniques.
