This study was accompanied to develop the management and application plans as resources for rural tourism through the analysis of distribution characteristics, inhabitants' practical use, need item for management and application, and aesthetic/recreation function of Palustrine wetland in rural area. The 2.3 Palustrine wetland per farm village were located, and 77.5% of total wetland was used by agricultural water, landscape, rural tourism The management and water quality were steadily getting better in used wetland than in unused wetland. Also, 91.8% of respondents answered that there is a practical use plan afterward, and much preferred the mode of ecotourism through restoration of ecological wetland. As the results from the appropriateness evaluation of management and application in used wetland for ecotourism, improvement item was required in observation deck, entrance lane, guidance facilities etc. And, insufficient result was deduced in appropriateness of operation program and special learning course, and in participation of inhabitants and experts. The result of evaluation of the aesthetic and recreation functions generally appeared high, but the need improvement item was required in artificial water wall and plantation base that deteriorate biological diversity. These results will be used to data for conservation, management and practical use of wetland, an important natural resource in farm village, which are confronted in crisis of land reclamation by use reduction of use and false management.
Sustainable water resource management requires the assessment of hydrological variability in response to climate fluctuations and anthropogenic activities. Determining quantitative estimates of water balance and total basin discharge are of utmost importance to understand the variations within a basin. Hard-to-reach areas with few infrastructures, coupled with lengthy administrative procedures makes in-situ data collection and water management processes very difficult and unreliable. In this study, the hydrological behavior of Lake Chad whose extent, extreme climatic and environmental conditions make it difficult to collect field observations was examined. During a 10 year period [January 2003 to December 2013], dataset from space-borne and global hydrological models observations were analyzed. Terrestial water storage (TWS) data retrieved from Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE), lake level variations from Satellite altimetry, water fluxes and soil moisture from Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) were used for this study. Furthermore, we combined altimetry lake volume with TWS over the lake drainage basin to estimate groundwater and soil moisture variations. This will be validated with groundwater estimates from WaterGAP Global Hydrology Model (WGHM) outputs. TWS showed similar variation patterns Lake water level as expected. The TWS in the basin area is governed by the lake's surface water. As expected, rainfall from GLDAS precedes GRACE TWS with a phase lag of about 1 month. Estimates of groundwater and soil moisture content volume changes derived by combining altimetric Lake Volume with TWS over the drainage basin are ongoing. Results obtained shall be compared with WaterGap Hydrology Model (WGHM) groundwater estimate outputs.
For the last 20 years, China has transformed itself from a rural economy into an industrial giant, averaging over 8 % annual growth of GDP. Unfortunately, this rapid growth has taken a significant toll on its natural resource base as well, particularly water resources. These problems have been exacerbated by a low level of sewage treatment technology and by the operating and maintenance (O&M). In case of urban areas, most big cities in China have a well functioning sewage system comprised of sewers and sewage treatment plants (STPs). Nevertheless, the existing STPs are still not capable of properly treating the sewage, both quantitatively and qualitatively. The rural areas in China cover a large land, with two-third of the nation's population. The low educational and poor economic states make it hard to process self-protection and management. In the surveyed area in Henan, there was no STPs put into use as of 2004, and the sewer lines are not well organized. The big issue for the currently planned STPs is the collection system not included in the plans.
It is important to understand groundwater conditions such as recharge, flow and hydrochemical process occurred within an aquifer for groundwater protection and groundwater resource management. Groundwater from the Triassic Sherwood Sandstone aquifer of North Yorkshire has been used for industrial purposes and domestic water supply. Tn order to understand the processes affecting groundwater chemistry and identify the sources of high chloride, sulphate and nitrate concentrations hydrochemical and isotopic measurements were carried out. Hydrochemical and isotopic measurements indicated that five groundwater types exist within the Sherwood Sandstone aquifer of study area. The results of hydrochemical and isotopic measurements showed that older groundwaters have different hydrochemical and isotopic characteristics from recent recharge water. It was also found that water-rock interactions are the dominant mechanism controlling the ${\delta}^{13}C$ composition of dissolved inorganic carbon, the ${\delta}^{34}S\;and\;{\delta}^{18}O$ composition of dissolved sulphate and the strontium isotope ratios ($^{87}Sr/^{86}Sr$) in recent recharge water and old groundwater. Several abstraction boreholes within the Selby wellfield have been contaminated by saline water. The isotopic data of saline groundwater samples taken from these abstraction boreholes indicate that saline waters are derived from the dissolution of the Triassic evaporites within the Mercia Mudstone.
The estimation of groundwater usage in Jeju island is important to understand hydrologic cycle system and to plan management of water resource because large amounts of groundwater have been used for agricultural and domestic purpose. The model has been developed to estimate agricultural groundwater usage for garlic at uplands and citrus at orchards raising outdoors using the soil water balance model from FAO 56, respectively. The total amount of water supplied for the crop evapotranspiration and the multipurpose function such as sprout promotion can be simulated by the model. However, due to the discrepancy of water use in initial stage between calculated and observed, the model was calibrated and verified using actual groundwater usage monitoring data for 3.5 years (2011.6 to 2014.12) at three uplands for garlic and three orchards for citrus. Consequently, it would be concluded that the model simulated efficiently actual water usage in that root mean square (RMS) and normalized RMS of the validation stage were less than 8.99 mm and 2.43%, respectively, in two different conditions.
This study examines household expenditure patterns for single-parent families to better understand the decision-making process and to consider the appropriateness of the decisions on monetary allocation. This study investigates the household expenditure patterns and the determinants of expenditure patterns for single-father families as compared to those for single-mother families. A series of analyses of the data, which was gathered from the 2015 Single-parent Family Survey on household expenditures, were conducted. The results show that there are differences in the household expenditure volumes and patterns between single-father families and single-mother families. Differences in the categories of expenditure and variations in the share that was allocated for each expenditure category in single-father families as compared to in single-mother families were both statistically significant. Disparities were found in seven categories of household expenditure between single-father families and single-mother families. The amount allocated from total expenditures for each expenditure category was also significantly different between single-father families and single-mother families in regards to clothing, home equipment, housing, water/light/heat costs, transportation, and telecommunication. The determinants of the total household expenditure for single-parent families were age, level of education, number of family members, public transfer, household income, assets, and debt.
The aim of this dissertation is establishing internal indicator list for achieving policy goal of Carbon Neutrality Green City. First of all, it started to construct the basic system of planning indicator based on through comprehension of current studies such as advanced researches, government guidelines and green building certifications. And then it was set up final indicator list through inspecting FGI (Focus Group Interview), Verification of suitability, and Analysis of importance). As a result of this research, the planning indicator divided three steps and there were classified four fields in the top-level; Green Land and Ecology, Green Energy, Green Resource and Transportation, Green Living and Institution. According to the data, it deducted four items (ratio of green land, site plan, heat island and management of climate, base of nature ecology) and twelve index in the field of green land and ecology, three item(energy conservation and self-supporting, energy efficiency, new regeneration energy) and twelve index in the field of green energy and regeneration, five items(water resources utilize and circulation, other resource reduction and circulation, public transportation, green transportation plan) and fifteen index. Totally, Planning Indicators of forty nine were deducted. Therefore, there was the result of importance analysis that the indicators of plan and maintain management as the side of space for carbon neutrality were more appreciated than carbon reduction of individual building.
Today's rapid industrialization and population concentration in cities lead to a vast economic growth, and consequently, people's increased desire of spending demands abundant and diverse food. As a result in Korea, annual food waste is 4.1 million tons (24.6% of household waste) and daily food waste amount to 11,397 tons which is equivalent to 1,400 loads of 8-ton truck. It is best to recycle toed waste as manure, forage, and fuel than reclamation but separate collection of food waste is very difficult by reason of water content. So only a little portion of food waste from large-scaled restaurants and cafeterias that handle food waste relatively well. requirement for recycling food wastes into forage and manure needless to say, reduction activity is best way. Therefore, large-scaled restaurants and cafeterias need to seek plans to minimize food resource waste thus reducing the cost and waste processing cost by implementing appropriate reduction program.
