  • Objectives: This study is designed to explore and understand what professional identity and professional development are like in family counselors. Method: This study to achieve its purpose, collected data through in-depth interview with fifteen(15) family counselors through grounded theory approach. Results: Major research findings can be summarized as follows. 176 concepts were drawn through open coding, again classified into 47 categories and finally into 18 subcategories. Through selective coding, 'growing as an expert in family counseling through continuous exertions for growth' appeared as core category. Through this process, the types of professional development in family counselors were classified into job pursuing type, self achieving type, self understanding type, and volunteering type. Through process analysis, family counselors' professional development could be divided into three steps with the course of time: step of immersion, self-understanding and acceptance, and integration. Based on this, the hypothetical relations in four areas: personal area, family area, interpersonal area, and vocational area were summarized in statements. It also provides those who hope to grow as expert in family counseling with long-term visions and implications for family counselor training and supervision. In this study, the suggestions on the tasks to check and solve the factors for improving and supporting the foundations of family counselors' professional identities by highlighting the family counselors own identify that is different from other counselors are expected to be used as primary data for preparing laws and regulations related to family counseling in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the meaning and essence of nursing students' experience of handwashing education volunteer program. There were 10 students who participated in the handwashing education service, and data collection was conducted for two months from October to November 2021, and three focus groups were formed and interviewed. Data were analyzed by Colaizz's phenomenological research method. As a result of the study, 3 themes and 10 sub-themes were derived. The three themes were 'personal development', 'self-esteem as a pre-nursing nurse', and 'knowing the meaning of service'. Nursing students learned the meaning of service through handwashing education service, and it was found that they could experience their own inner maturity. Nursing students could see that it was a time to learn the true meaning of service through handwashing education volunteering. The results of this study provided an understanding of the educational service of nursing college students, which can be applied to the diversification of educational service programs.

Specifically, this study finds out the characteristics of CSR cases on broadcasting companies, telecom enterprises, and internet businesses on both countries. The results indicate that the US media companies focus more on inner stakeholders like employees as stimulating employees' welfare, ESG recognition, education, and culture via socially responsible business practices whereas the Korean media companies prefer to supporting have-nots, solving social issues, and market expansion through cause promotions and community volunteering. On CSR activity strategies, there is no difference between countries but some gaps between ones. Of companies, telecom enterprises, regardless of nations, are the best on strategical approaches of CSR activity.

  • This study proposes a rad o resource management scheme to maximize the performance of the LTE(Long Term Evolution) uplink, using SC-FDMA(Single Carrier-Frequency Division Multiple Access). Rather than the single-cell SC-FDMA system the existing studies are mainly concerning, this study focuses on multi-cell system which needs considering the interaction among cells. Radio resource management is divided into two phases, planning and operation phases. The former is for the master eNB(e-NodeB) to allocate RBs(radio bearer) to eNB, the latter for eNB to assign RBs to the mobiles in the cell. For each phase, an optimization model and greedy algorithm are proposed. Optimization models aim to maximize the system performance while satisfying the constraints for both QoS and RB continuity. The greedy algorithms, like generic ones, move from a solution to a neighboring one having the best objective value among neighboring ones. From the numerous numerical experiments, the performance and characteristics of the algorithms are analyzed. This study is expected to play a volunteering role in radio resource management for the multi-cell SC-FDMA system.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest that compassion is used as a mechanism to improve immunity by activating people's parasympathetic nerves. Compassion is pity and heartbreak for the misfortune of others. The instinctive emotion of compassion is the basis for humans to achieve and develop society. This is also linked to the laws of nature and the factors of evolution that Kropotkin, famous for his "mutual assistance (mutualism)" that all things help each other. Compassion is an individual's instinctive emotion and at the same time a driving force for forming and developing society. If the Hopeful World (希望世上) performs Korean traditional music healing at a nursing home, first, it will have a positive healing effect on the elderly in the nursing home, who are the audience. Second, positive healing effects can also be expected from performers. The stronger the compassion, the greater the healing effect. Third, people who watch the performance also enjoy the healing effect. This seems to have brought about a synergistic effect by combining the feelings felt while looking at the excellent behavior felt by seeing the poor person. It seems that this effect can be named the compassion effect that developed the Mother Teresa effect. The Mother Teresa effect refers to a significant improvement in the body's immune function just by volunteering or seeing good things. By expanding this Mother Teresa effect, it can be inferred that a pitying heart, helping behavior, and being with good behavior will all help improve the human immune system. This can also be called the compassion effect. Therefore, we think having compassion activates the parasympathetic nerves, improving your mood, and increasing your immunity.

  • This study explored the experiences and difficulties of science teachers who participated in overseas educational voluntary activities. Seven science teachers who had visited Timor-Leste participated in the study. All collected data including the teacher interview were analyzed. As a result, teachers visited Timor-Leste to fulfill social roles and to meet the expectations of others. After returning from Timor-Leste, the teachers regained their passion for teaching and gained confidence in taking on new challenges. Teachers had difficulties in conducting seminars due to the unstable social situation and lack of awareness of Timor-Leste teachers, and experienced communication limitations due to language barriers. Nevertheless, teachers cooperate with local priest to improve these limitations. In addition, teachers supplemented the limitations caused by the non-establishment of the curriculum through the evaluation meeting. In order to improve teaching expertise and promote active participation of Timor-Leste teachers, the seminar method was modified. The experience of volunteering in Timor-Leste made teachers think about the importance of cooperation and the necessity of education. Based on the above results, we discussed ways to activate voluntary service.

  • The purpose of the phenomenological study was to explore the meaning of volunteer activity according to workers' perception. In order to accomplish the purpose of the research, the seven workers with volunteer experiences were asked a question, "What do volunteer activities means to them?" Data was collected through in-depth interview, recoded videotapes. In addition, the data was analyzed by a Colaizzi's content analysis. The findings showed that workers' volunteer activities were identified as 18 themes and 6 categories. The six categories consist of 'initiating an action', 'being close to people in need', 'experiencing the difficulties of the people in need', 'increase of awareness of fellowship', 'increase of stability at work', 'self-growth'. The meaning of workers' volunteer activity was defined as a process to get to know their neighbor within their social boundaries, and to gradually change their life. Additionally, the findings are also expected to help understand worker's volunteer activity, and to promote the quality of human resources in the social welfare areas.

  • The Purpose of this study is to understand phases and paradigms related to voluntary services offered by undergraduates and the processes in which voluntary services are implemented. For this, interviews for 23(men: 10, women: 13) undergraduates were conducted from Aug., 2008 to Apr., 2009 were conducted and the data collected from those interviews were analyzed on the basis of the Grounded Theory. Main analysis procedure is known as codings(open coding, axial coding, selective coding). This analyses produced 119 concepts, 41 subcategories, and 16 categories in open coding. Then, axial coding was conducted to organize the basic framework of generic relationships among psychological motivation, social context, personal perception, practical action, psychological response, and psychological consequence. Core essence is "Volunteer types are categorized simple practice type, self-serving type, and community type." Finally, undergraduate volunteers were explained in 3 types(simple practice, self-serving, and community) on the basis of paradigms. These results were discussed in terms of further research and limitation.
