  • Distributed Generators (DG) are rapidly increasing and most of them are interconnected with distribution network to supply power into the network. Therefore, DG may make significant impacts on distribution system operation. protection, and control with respect to the voltage regulation, voltage flicker, harmonics, fault current levels, the losses of the network, etc. These impacts would be demerits for both of DG and distribution networks. And the operation of DG may be influenced by the abnormal grid condition such as disturbances occurred in the neighboring distribution feeders as well as the feeder directly connected with DG. This paper describes the influence of fault occurred in the interconnected power network on the DG operation and the impact of DG on the network load during the interruptions of utility power.

  • High speed electric trains have time-varying nonlinear loads causing voltage fluctuations to the power system. A cumulative probablistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying loads. Flicker can be defined as the effect produced on the human visual perception by a changing emission of light lamps subjected to magnitude fluctuations of their supply voltage. This paper provides an in depth analysis on harmonics and flickers measurement of the high speed electric train loads. And the measurement results are evaluated by the IEC 61000-3-6 and IEC 61000-3-7.

  • In this paper, we fabricated an 1.8 ㎓ differential VCO using a commercial 0.5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ SiGe BiCMOS process technology, The fabricated VCO consumes 16 ㎃ at 3 V supply voltage and has a 1.2 $\times$ 1.6 $mm^2$TEX>chip area. A phase noise measured at 100 KHz offset carrier is -110 ㏈c/Hz and a tuning range is 1795 MHz~1910 MHz when two varactor diodes are biased from 0 V to 3 V.

  • This paper describe the power quality measuring result of the inter-connected residental PV system. The power quality measuring for inter-connected residental PV system are important to verify their performance and effect of power distribution system with inter-connected residental PV system. Also, these power quality measuring and analysis are essential to improve electrical safety. In order to evaluate influence of power distribution system with inter-connected residental PV system, we measure and analyze power quality index such as power, voltage, current, harmonic, THD, flicker index, power factor and frequency using DEWE5000.

  • Voltage Flicker는 다른 전력품질 요소들과는 달리, 전압의 흔들림이 사람의 눈과 뇌에 미치는 영향을 고려한 지수이다. IEC 61000-4-15에서는 이러한 플리커의 평가 알고리즘을 제시하고 있으며, 제한치를 $Pst{\leq}1$, $Plt{\leq}0.65$로 정의하고 있다. 이 제한치는 다양한 비선형 부하들의 경우에도 만족시켜야 하며, 계통의 설계 시 미리 고려를 할 필요성이 있다. 본 논문에서는 Fortran을 이용하여 IEC61000-4-15의 플리커미터 알고리즘을 구현하고 이를 PSCAD/EMTDC의 Module로 적용시켜, 시험 계통이 플리커 제한치를 만족시키는가에 대한 테스트가 가능하도록 하였다.

  • The input equivalent noise charge (ENC) of hydrogenated amorphous silicon radiation detector diodes was measured and analyzed. The noise sources of amorphous silicon diodes were analyzed into three sources; shot noise, flicker noise and thermal noise from the contact resistance. By comparing the measured ENC with the calculated signal charge in uniform generation case, the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) for the sample diodes is estimated as a function of the detector bias and the shaping time of Gaussian pulse shaper. The maximum S/N occurred at the bias level just above the full depletion voltage for shaping time of 2∼3 ${\mu}$sec. The developed method is useful in optimum design or amorphous silicon p-i-n diodes for charged particulate radiation spectroscopy.

  • PCC(Point of Common Coupling) is measured by waveform in power system. Analyzing their frequency, it is possible to get various indices such as THD(Total Harmonic Distortion), TDD(Total Demand Distortion), and VF(Voltage Flicker), and then the harmonic can be evaluated from them. In this paper, the harmonic effect on the power supply which is generated by the vehicle is presented by comparing harmonics with the substation and the vehicle.

  • Electric arc furnaces (EAFs) are a main cause of voltage flicker due to the interaction of the high demand currents of the load with the supply system impedance. The stochastic models have described the physical phenomena of EAFs. An alternative approach is to include deterministic chaos in the characterization of the arc currents. In this paper, a chaotic approach to such modeling is described and justified. At the same time, a DLL (Dynamic Link Library) module, which is a FORTRAN interface with TACS (Transient Analysis of Control Systems), is developed to implement the chaotic load model in the Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP). The details of the module and the results of tests performed on the module to verify the model and to illustrate its capabilities are presented in this paper.

  • Electric arc furnace has consumed plenty of power. Hence electric arc furnace can be expected to use for demand side management. When electric arc furnace use for demand side management, electric arc furnace frequently occur a starting and a stop. Electric arc furnace irregularity change consumption of power. Due to character of time-varing and non-linear, electirc arc furnace has a problem with voltage quality(flicker, harmonics). Producted harmonic in electric art furnace is different any harmonic source because of electric arc furnace peculiar operating. Accordingly, analysis for generated harmonic in electric arc furnace operating is demanded. This paper analyze effect of harmonic by arc furnace operating.
