  • A new configuration to realize the most general n-th order voltage transfer function is proposed. It employs only one operational transresistance amplifier (OTRA) as the active element. In the synthesis of the transfer function, the RC:-RC decomposition technique is used. To the best of author's knowledge, this is the first topology to be used in the realization of n-th order transfer function employing single OTRA.

  • This paper proposed the new current feed-back amplifier for low supply voltage application. The input stage was designed to be a class-AB circuit and achieve the low supply-voltage operation down to $2V_{TH}+2V_{DS(SAT)}$. With the self-adjust bias current, the high performance can be adopted with high stability. The circuit was successfully proven by the simulation with MOSIS 0.5 ${\mu}$m MOS technology.

  • Due to the differential transmission technique and low voltage swing, LVDS has been widely used for high speed transmission with low power consumption. This paper presents the design and implementation of interface circuits for 1.5Gb/s operation in 0.35um CMOS technology. The interface circuit ate fully compatible with the low-voltage differential signaling(LVDS) standard. The LVDS proposed in this paper utilizes a sense amplifiers instead of the conventional differential pre-amplifier, which provides a 1.5Gb/s transmission speed with further reduced driver output voltage. Furthermore, the reduced driver output voltage results in reducing the power consumption.

  • Audio power amplifiers have been designed based on the premise that the impedance of loudspeakers is fixed at nominal 4 ohms or 8 ohms. However, it is known that the impedance varies with frequency and takes on the nominal value at some limited frequencies. The principle of the loudspeaker operation reveals that the sound pressure produced by the loudspeaker is proportional to the current flowing in the voice coil, not the voltage between the two terminals. We take the characteristics of the loudspeaker into account and compare the frequency responses of the loudspeaker in voltage-drive mode and current-drive mode via computer simulations, to conclude that the audio amplifier drive mode should be re-considered in an effort to improve the sound quality.

  • This paper presents design of a class D Amplifier using multi-level switching and Zero-Voltage-Switching(ZVS) technique. The amplifier circuit features zero voltage switching at all switches of the circuit and multi-level switching operation so that the higher efficiency and lower THD could be achieved. A 50-W prototype D class amplifier built and tested it. As a result, the maximum efficiency of $96\%$ and the THD of under $60\%$ were obtained.

  • The application of the operational trasconductance amplifier (OTA) in the design of a amplifier with voltage-controlled gam is demonstrated first. I designed OTA with linear operation and constructed a Amplifier with two OTA. In this design. I used OTA as open loop. Computer simulation result, designed OTA and Amplifier charateristics has a good matching with the theoritical value. The OTA is used often in open-loop and therefore it is wise to learn how to treat the two input pins independently, as a vertual short circuit can not be assured in many configurations.

  • The gain stability of the nuclear pulse linear amplifiers with feedback for such a fast pulse input as the step voltage or the nuclear radiation detector pulse is analysed in detail. The expression is derived which describes the waveform at the anode circuit of the photomultiplier tube which is a part of the nuclear radiation detector. It is analysed and compared when the feedback amplifier has one and two time-constants. When these fast input pulse voltages are applied to the feedback amplifier, the effects of feedback in linearity and stability of the output voltage appear only after two or three rise-times of the amplifier, And it is proved that in order to reduce this limitation, the rise time of the feedback amplifier shou1d be less than the input pulse width. It is also shown that the above theory can be applied directly to the voltage-shunt feedback amplifier stages designed as the basic amplifier of the linear amplifier, and that the gain stability is more improved for the smaller input impedance of this amplifier stage.

  • This paper is to study and develope a measurement apparatus for ferroelectricity. The apparatus consists of wave generation part, high voltage amplifier part, measurement part, data acquisition part and the related controll circuits. Single or double excitation wave is digitalized and sent to the external RAM of wave generation part by personal computer. These datas saved in the RAM are converted to analog excitation wave through D/A converter. The frequency of excitation wave is depend on the read-out speed of the RAM by clock pulse. Such generated wave is applied to high voltage amplifier as a input voltage. The output of high voltage amplifier is applied to ferroelectrics and the response is obtained from the charge amplifier of measurement part. The response is sampled and converted to digital datas through AID converter. These digital datas are automatically saved in the external RAM of acquisition part. The computer takes the digital datas and calculates the electric displacement D, the electric field and the dielectric constant $\varepsilon$. We tested for PZT ceramic sample and could observed the D-E hysteresis lops and ${\varepsilon}_s$-E hysteresis loops with good forms.

  • Using Se as a photoconductive element and ZnS as a luminescent element, a Se/ZnS thin film device for light amplifier applications was fabricated and its characteristics were investigated. The Se/ZnS thin film light amplifier was fabricated by evaporating the ZnS thin film on an ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) glass and the Se thin film on the ZnS thin film in sequence. The results of the characteristics investigation are summarized as follows: (1) When the frequency of an excitation voltage was increased, both the brightness response and the brightness saturation of the Se/ZnS thin film light amplifier began to start at a higher light input. (2) The gain of the Se/ZnS thin film light amplifier was dependent upon the amplitude and the frequency of the excitation voltage as well as an external light input. (3) When the Se/ZnS thin film light amplifier was excited by a direct current of a constant voltage, the frequency of the output brightness was\\`equal to the frequency of the input light applied. When the light amplifier was excited by a sinusoidal voltage of 60 Hz, the frequency of the output brightness was 120 Hz.

  • This paper is concerned with the development of power amplifier and controller for piezoelectric actuator and sensor used in smart structures. Even though a high-voltage power amplifier is provided in the form of an operational amplifier, a very high DC voltage is still necessary as a power supply. In this study, we propose a low-cost design for the power amplifier including the DC power supply. We also need a controller on which a control algorithm will be mounted. In general, a digital signal processing chip is popularly used because of high speed. However, only commercial product is available for smart structure applications. In this paper, a controller consisting of a DSP and electronic circuits suitable for piezoelectric sensor and actuator pair is proposed. To validate the proposed controller with power amplifier, experiment on smart structure was carried out. The experimental results show that the proposed control system can be effectively used for smart structure applications with low cost.
