비디오 시각적 관계 이해 기술 동향 (Trends in Video Visual Relationship Understanding)

  • Visual relationship understanding in computer vision allows to recognize meaningful relationships between objects in a scene. This technology enables the extraction of representative information within visual content. We discuss the technology of visual relationship understanding, specifically focusing on videos. We first introduce visual relationship understanding concepts in videos and then explore the latest existing techniques. Next, we present benchmark datasets commonly used in video visual relationship understanding. Finally, we discuss future research directions in video visual relationship understanding.

Improving visual relationship detection using linguistic and spatial cues

  • Detecting visual relationships in an image is important in an image understanding task. It enables higher image understanding tasks, that is, predicting the next scene and understanding what occurs in an image. A visual relationship comprises of a subject, a predicate, and an object, and is related to visual, language, and spatial cues. The predicate explains the relationship between the subject and object and can be categorized into different categories such as prepositions and verbs. A large visual gap exists although the visual relationship is included in the same predicate. This study improves upon a previous study (that uses language cues using two losses) and a spatial cue (that only includes individual information) by adding relative information on the subject and object of the extant study. The architectural limitation is demonstrated and is overcome to detect all zero-shot visual relationships. A new problem is discovered, and an explanation of how it decreases performance is provided. The experiment is conducted on the VRD and VG datasets and a significant improvement over previous results is obtained.

초등학생들의 굴절이상과 시력과의 관계 (Relationship of Visual Acuity and Refractive Error in Elementary School Students)

  • 목적: 본 논문에서는 초등학생들의 시력과 굴절이상과의 관계를 조사하고 이들의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 방법: 초등학교 1, 3, 6학년 200명(400안)을 선정하여 나안시력과 굴절이상을 측정하였다. 결과: 저학년에서 고학년으로 갈수록 근시도는 증가하고, 시력은 감소하였고, 1차 회귀직선방정식은 Y=2.1471X-3.1484 (F=313.9377, P<0.001)로 나타났다. 원시도와 시력에 대한 1차 회귀직선방정식은 Y=-0.6854X+1.1764 (F=7.054, P<0.01)로 나타나 원시도와 시력 감소의 유의한 상관관계가 확인되었다. 시력과 난시도의 관계는 Y=2.2509X-2.8738 (F=21.7952, P<0.001)로 나타나 유의한 상관관계가 확인되었다. 결론: 근시, 원시, 난시 모두 시력과 유의한 상관관계가 확인되었다.

  • Purpose of this thesis is to find out the relationship among the amount of change and the visual cognition, and the visual preference which people like and can feel. Through the investigation of relationships between the amount of change, which indicates the degree of visual variation and the visual preference, the amount of change and the visual cognition, and the visual preference and the visual cognition, basic design data will be supplied, which can satisfy users' desire as much as possible in the most economic way. In order to investigate the relationship between the visually produced the amount of change and preferences, graphic simulation, in which variables other than the visual change are controlled, has been proceeded. Graphic factors of the visual change in the cyber exterior space are determined on the point of location (base plane, vertical plane, overhead plane), shape, size and color. As for the relationship between the amount of change and the preference, only the size is effective. since preferences on the location, shape and color are individual preferences, no common trend can be found. Therefore, we cannot say that which shape or color is better, Since the location, shape and color are qualitative change and the size is the quantitative change, the size can be the measurable change quantity. The relationship between the amount of change of size and the degree of preference is found to be inverse U-shape, i.e., as the amount of change of size increases the degree of preference first increases and, after a certain level, decreases. The same result has been obtained in photo simulation.

The relationship between visual perception and social skills in late adolescence

  • It is necessary to investigate how age or gender affects visual perception and social skills in late adolescence. A study on the relevance of visual perception in late adolescence, a period that requires social adaptation through the development of social functions, is necessary. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between visual perception and social skills in adolescence. Visual perception and social skill were evaluated for 18-24-year-olds, who are in late adolescence, and were analyzed for gender differences and correlations with chronological age. This study found that there was a difference in visual perceptual function according to gender in late adolescence, and it was significantly higher in men. There was no significant difference in social skills according to gender. However, there was a significantly positive correlation between chronological age and visual perception, but there was no correlation with social skills. These findings provide novel information regarding the developmental course of visual perception and social skill in late adolescence.

  • The objective of this study are to figure out the physical attributes of the three predictors in the Informational Approach: complexity, coherence, mystery and to investigate the relationships between these attributes and the preference exploratively. Visual inspection of the scenes relative to their rated levels of the predictors revealed the existence of relationship between these variables and the physical attributes. The following are the summary of the relationship between three predictors and the physical attributes: (1) The level of complexity was associated with the pattern of physical attributes which were the amount of facility, line, shape, color plant and arrangement of the visual elements. (2) The level of coherence was related with the regular arrangement of the visual elements. For example, there was certain pattern founded the color, shape, texture was applied to the various space repetitively and symmetrically. (3) The level of mystery had the relationship with the physical attributes of screen, spatial definition, distance of view, physical accessibility, radiant forest, the depth of space.

감성이 시각적 이미지의 색감기억에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Emotion on Color Vividness of Visual Memory)

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the quantitative effects of various emotions and retention periods on the color vividness of visual memory. Background: Although numerous studies have focused on the effects of emotions on memory such as visual detail and vividness of emotional events compared to neutral events, the relationship between emotion and visual memory is ambiguous yet. Furthermore, there were few studies on the effect of emotion on vividness of visual memory. Method: A total of 68 subjects were participated in serial experiments proceed on online and the experiments had two phases: recognition phase and reproduction phase. The 15 photographs were used as visual stimuli and all experiments were conducted over the internet(experiment website) and the results were collected on the web database. Results: The retention period, sleep-arousal emotion and subjective saturation of visual stimuli had a significant effect on the color vividness of visual memory. Conclusion: The results suggested that the color of visual stimulus might be more vividly remembered when it is arousing, the subjective saturation is higher and the retention period is longer. Application: The findings of this study may help clarify the relationship between human emotions and visual memory.

학령 전기 아동의 글씨 쓰기에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Factors Influencing Handwriting of Preschool Children)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the relationships of handwriting legibility and perceptual-motor skills, and handwriting speed and perceptual-motor skills. And identified the predictors that most affect the handwriting of preschool children. Methods: Twenty-three typically developing preschool aged children (mean age: 68.61 months, SD=2.04) were selected through the Korean-Denver Developmental Screening Test-2(K-DDST-2). The children were tested with regard to handwriting legibility, visual perception, visual-motor integration and fine-motor coordination. Results: First, a significant relationship was not found among handwriting legibility, visual perception, visual-motor integration and fine-motor coordination. Second, a significant relationship was found among handwriting speed, visual perception and fine-motor coordination. Third, stepwise multiple regression analyses showed that general visual perception were significant predictors for handwriting speed. Conclusion: Occupational therapists should evaluate children's visual perception levels utilizing a standardized test, and focus on general visual perception in order to improve handwriting skill(speed). Also, occupational therapists are expected to play an important role in the management and treatment of children's handwriting skills.

어린이 시력과 생활 환경과의 관계에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Environmental Factors upon Children's Visual Acuity)

  • 5~12세의 유치원 어린이 147명, 초등학교 어린이 233명, 총 380명의 나안시력과 타각적 굴절 이상도를 측정하고, 환경적 요인들이 어린이 나안시력에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 전체적으로 나안시력이 0.1 미만은 3%, 0.1~0.4는 9%, 0.5~0.7은 18%, 0.8~0.9는 16%, 1.0 이상은 54%로 나타났고, 굴절이상은 혼합난시 9.5%, 원시 14.5%, 근시 75.88%, 정시 0.27%로 나타났다. TV 시청시간과 어린이 나안시력과는 시청시간이 많을수록 시력이 저하하였고, 특히 4시간 이상에서 현저하게 나안사력이 저하하는 협상이 나타났다. TV 시청거리와 어린이 나안시력과의 관계에서는 시청거리가 멀어질수록 나안시력이 좋았고, 4m 이상에서는 나안시력이 훨씬 더 좋은 상태로 나타났다. 공부시간과는 유의적인 관계가 없었으며, 주거환경과 어린이 나안시력과의 관계에서는 단독주택에서 사는 어 린 이들이 APT의 어린이들보다 시력이 좋게 나타났다.

패션점포에서 감성마케팅과 비주얼머천다이징이 소비자태도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect to Consumer's Attitude influenced by Emotional Marketing and Visual Merchandising at Fashion Store)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify consumer's attitude at fashion store and analyze the relationship between emotional marketing and visual merchandising. Questionnaires were administered to 20-30 young consumers at fashion store in 20-30s who live in Seoul and Daegu. Data were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, mediated regression analysis, analysis of variance, T-test, one way ANOVA. The results are as follows. First, emotional marketing had an effect on positive emotional response at fashion store. Second, visual merchandising had an effect on positive emotional response at fashion store. Third, emotional marketing and visual merchandising had an effect on positive relationship. Forth, positive emotional response had an effect on positive consumer's attitude. Lastly, emotional marketing and visual merchandising had an effect on positive consumer's attitude. The result of this study suggests to the fashion business that well managed various emotional response factor, positive emotional experience and desirable visual merchandising are necessary.
