사롱의 유형과 가변성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Classification and Versatility of Sarong)

  • This thesis is based on the study of formativeness and versatility of Sarong. For the aim of the research, Sarongs were classified into two types: rectangular and tube, using its original form as the basis. These two types of Sarongs were divided into more detailed groups depending on the purposes of attire, such as skirts, dresses, and capes. To look into the formativeness and versatility of Sarong, the usage of wear and expression methods were observed based on these categories. The following results were found regarding the versatility of Sarong: First, Sarong has a wide degree of versatility in terms of usage. It can be worn as a skirt, a head scarf, a dress, a cape, or used as a carrier or even a sleeping bag, based on one's intention. The change of usage is often accompanied with the change of forms, as can be shown by the longyi of Myanmar, the tube type Sarong, which is used as briefs. Second, Sarong has a wide degree of versatility in terms of function. Variations of instrumental and expressive function of Sarong are observed simultaneously. The physical function sometimes coincides with the changes of usage as mentioned above. The way that Sarong's are expressed in different social situations changes depending on the wearer's social status, religion, or origin. So by looking at the way a Sarong is worn, others can tell if a person is going to social events such as festivals and weddings. Third, Sarong has a wide degree of versatility in terms of design. However, even if same usage and function is pursued, the design can be different based on an individual. This is because the external change of Sarong is affected by individuality or aesthetic sense of the wearer.

Comparison of Exon-boundary Old and Young Domains during Metazoan Evolution

  • Domains are the building blocks of proteins. Exon shuffling is an important mechanism accounting for combination of a limited repertoire of protein domains in the evolution of multicellular species. A relative excess of domains encoded by symmetric exons in metazoan phyla has been presented as evidence of exon shuffling, and symmetric domains can be divided into old and new domains by determining the ages of the domains. In this report, we compare the spread, versatility, and subcellular localization of old and new domains by analyzing eight metazoan genomes and their respective annotated proteomes. We found that new domains have been expanding as multicellular organisms evolved, and this expansion was principally because of increases in class 1-1 domains amongst several classes of domain families. We also found that younger domains have been expanding in membranes and secreted proteins along with multi-cellular organism evolution. In contrast, old domains are located mainly in nuclear and cytoplasmic proteins. We conclude that the increasing mobility and versatility of new domains, in contrast to old domains, plays a significant role in metazoan evolution, facilitating the creation of secreted and transmembrane multidomain proteins unique to metazoa.

Framing Trend and Style Information in Magazine

  • This study applies framing theory to the presentation of trend or styling information in fashion journalism. A qualitative content analysis was conducted with three lifestyle magazines. The findings include attribute, attitude, and source-based frames. The attribute-based frame was used to increase the versatility and feasibility of design by emphasizing particular attributes of clothes. To increase versatility, an item could be presented either as a basic or trendy design. To increase feasibility, fashion information could be customized by price points (i.e., affordable frame) or body type (i.e., flattering frame). The attitude-based frame includes prescriptive and rule-breaking frames. The source-based frame offers a source of trend or styling information. Expert, celebrity, and consumer frame emerged under the source-based frame. Findings reveal how fashion and style information is defined and crafted.

  • 드로네이 요소생성기법은 모델링 영역의 모양에 구애받지 않으면서 요소의 크기제어, 재편성, 국지요소생성 등에 있어서 탁월한 기능을 보여주고 있다. 그러나 생성되는 요소가 선형삼각형요소임으로해서 비압축성 또는 대변위거동의 근사나 복잡한 형상의 영역의 기하학적 근사에 한계를 갖고 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해 기제시된 드로네이 요소생성 알고리즘을 바탕으로한 6절점 삼각요소 생성알고리즘을 제시하여 본 기법의 완성도를 높이고 이를 성형문제에 적용해 보였다.

현대 패션에 나타난 클래식 테일러드 수트의 미적 특성 (Aesthetic Characteristics of Women's Classic Tailored Suits in Modern Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study is to define women's classic tailored suits surviving, despite current millennial impulses tend toward disintegration in style. Through documentary study, the reason which women had chosen the mannish tailored suits instead of sumptuous dresses in the 20th century beginnings is considered carefully. Also, examining the process of transition of women's classic suits makes it possible to infer the aesthetic characteristics of them. According to study, women had began to wear tailored suits acquiring physical comfort and the equality of the sexes. In the early stage, women imitated men's tailored suits in order to show seriousness, intelligent, capability for social success. However, in accordance with the advance of women's social position women modified it to suits themselves to present intrinsic feminity as well as masculine values. By staying the basic form, classic tailored suits have undergone constant internal changes in relation to sexuality. The aesthetic properties of women's classic tailored suits can be inferred as moderation, dualism, and versatility. In conclusion, the credibility with own authority and the evolutionary character inhering in the classic tailored suits could explain the continuity of them.

  • The Burkholderia genus consists of over 40 Gram-negative, ${\beta}$-proteobacteria species that occupy remarkably diverse ecological niches. This genus contains species pathogenic to human, animals, and plants, as well as species involved in promoting plant growth and biodegradation of pollutants. This is largely explained by the extraordinary versatility of Burkholderia, as reflected by the remarkable diversity of extracellular products released by these bacteria. We exhaustively surveyed the extracellular enzymes, siderophores, toxins, antimicrobials, and other secondary metabolites produced by the members of this very diverse genus. Available information on regulation, especially quorum sensing mechanisms, and secretion is highlighted.

  • This review comprehensively explores the evolution, theoretical underpinnings, variations, and applications of diffusion models. Originating as a generative framework, diffusion models have rapidly ascended to the forefront of machine learning research, owing to their exceptional capability, stability, and versatility. We dissect the core principles driving diffusion processes, elucidating their mathematical foundations and the mechanisms by which they iteratively refine noise into structured data. We highlight pivotal advancements and the integration of auxiliary techniques that have significantly enhanced their efficiency and stability. Variants such as bridges that broaden the applicability of diffusion models to wider domains are introduced. We put special emphasis on the ability of diffusion models as a crucial foundation model, with modalities ranging from image, 3D assets, and video. The role of diffusion models as a general foundation model leads to its versatility in many of the downstream tasks such as solving inverse problems and image editing. Through this review, we aim to provide a thorough and accessible compendium for both newcomers and seasoned researchers in the field.

SPAM 기반 영상 스테그아날리시스의 범용성에 대한 실험적 검증 (Experimental Verification of the Versatility of SPAM-based Image Steganalysis)

  • 많은 스테가노그래피 알고리즘들이 연구되어왔고 스테가노그래피의 연구로 인해서 스테가노그래피 알고리즘이 적용된 스테고 영상을 검출하기 위한 스테그아날리시스 또한 연구되어왔다. 특히 영상 스테그아날리시스의 경우에 ALE, SPAM, SRMQ와 같은 통계적인 특성에 기반한 수제 특징이 영상으로부터 추출되고 이 특징을 기계학습 알고리즘을 사용하여 스테고 영상의 분류에 사용하였다. 하지만 이러한 연구들은 단지 단일 영상의 크기, 비밀 정보 삽입 비율에 대해서만 고려하였으며 다양한 영상의 크기, 가로세로 비, 비밀 정보의 비율들에 대해서는 고려하지 않았다. 결과적으로 SPAM 특징이 다양한 조건하에서도 범용성있게 사용가능한지에 대한 검증은 이루어지지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 SPAM 기반의 영상 스테그아날리시스를 사용하여 영상의 크기, 가로 세로 비 비밀 정보 삽입 비율의 다양한 조건에 대한 분류율을 분석하여 SPAM 특징이 일관적인 분류 결과를 보여줄 수 있는지 확인해본다.

  • The specific objective of this paper is to develop an useful power flow program for real time applications. Great emphasis has been put to the combination of algorithms and programming techniques for high speed, low storage, reliability, versatility and simplicity. A practical application in several cases has produced satisfiable results.
