The awareness of "School Environmental Sanitation and Cleanup Zone System" and harmful perception by shops among students, teachers and parents in Korea (학생, 교사와 학부모의 학교환경위생정화구역의 인지도 및 업소별 유해인식도)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the status of the awareness of "school environmental sanitation and cleanup zone system" and to identify the level of harmful perception by shops. Methods: The survey was conducted using a self-administered questionnaire method online via the homepage of the education ministry's student health information center. A total of 293 schools (126 primary schools, 62 middle schools, and 45 high schools) was selected by using a stratified probability sampling. Results: Some 32.1% of all subjects knew the law of school environmental sanitation and cleanup zone system. The mean of harmful perception was 3.01 (very harmful: 4, harmful: 3, little harmful: 2, no harmful: 1). Regarding the types of high level of harmful perception of shops, adult good shops (3.53), hostess bar (3.52), karaoke bar (3.47), Cigarette vending machines (3.47), Adult only theater (3.47) and Phone sex room (3.37) were high. Singing room (2.29), dance school (2.45), tourist hotel (2.58), comic room (2.59), mini game console (2.66), hotel (2.77), billiard hall (2.81), PC room (2.83) were relatively low in the level of harmful perception. Conclusions: National government-level management and supervision will be necessary to prevent adolescent access to harmful shops.

  • In this paper, we describe the implementation of debugger that has advanced features for verifying Simulink model. The debugger provided in Simulink has some boring and repetitive work when verifying complicated Simulink models or complicated scenarios. In order to resolve the problems, this paper addresses the issues on the implementation of debugger that provides features such as a convenient feature to compare the simulation output to the expected output for specific input, to monitor system's behavior at specific time, and coverage report function in some or all input scenarios. The proposed debugger is applied to the vending machine model provided by Matlab, demonstrating its feasibility.

  • In this paper, we propose an a strategy using writing based on STEAM Instruction for information gifted students' creative problem-solving. It is needed a complex and dynamic interaction of variety elements for creative problem solving. And it should be provided experience encompassing various disciplines thorough convergence education for leading to the these interactions and developing the ability to solve complex problems. Writing has already been verified educational effects in a variety subjects. And writing gives a positive impact on creative problem solving by helping awareness of the problem and encouraging critical thinking. In addition, writing can be used as an effective tool for improving problem solving based on similarities between problem-solving process. Learners will find algorithm thorough the process analyzing and writing experience with high-tech products like vending machines, mobile phones and can learn naturally the principles of various disciplines used in real life. Furthermore, learners will experience interaction, convergence of various thinking and cultivate creative problem- solving skills.

Effect of Breathing on Ground Reaction Force and Kinematic Variables dur ing Bending in Korean Dance (호흡에 따른 한국무용 굴신동작이 운동학적 변인과 지면반력에 미치는 영향)

  • The objective of this study was to develop a scientific approach for investigating Korean dance in detail, and to examine the intense expressions and various movements, which are based on Danjeon breathing. For the purpose, we analyzed the movement changes and distribution of forces resulting from the switch in movement between exhalation and inhalation while bending, which is the most basic movement in Korean dance. The following conclusions were drawn from this study. In Korean dance, bending with breathing involves less back-and-forth-movement and more up-and-down movement, as compared to bending without breathing; this indicates greater body stability and a wider range of movements while bending with breathing. In addition, less time is required for bending with breathing at the point of switching from exhalation to inhalation, and it involves less movement of the supporting leg; thus, vending with breathing involves faster switching from bending movements to extending movements. While bending, the raised leg goes through a less smooth curve while breathing, which indicates stronger movement of the toes. Bending with breathing requires a greater braking force than bending without breathing, and the vertical force, generated by switching from exhalation to inhalation, is transferred to extending movements using the ground load. The results of this study can be potentially employed to investigate the expressions used in Korean dance on th basis of its principle of forces. Korean dance has evolved into various creative forms, and basic analytical studies of these diverse forms and related breathing methods re required in the future.

An Analysis of Important Design Factors for Rising of Qualitative Level and Revitalization in the Public Open Spaces (공개공지의 질적 수준 향상 및 활성화를 위한 중요 설계요소 분석 - 설계자와 이용자의 인식차이를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to found that the important design reform points for improvement of the public open space quality. For this purpose, surveyed the users of the public open space and the experts working for the public open space planning for the design elements of the public open spaces in terms of importance and satisfaction. The scope of the study was limited to Mapo-gu, Seoul and the buildings constructed since 1992 were sampled. the data collected were subject to Importance-Performance Analysis. As a result, 'waste boxes, vending machines and other amenities', 'characteristic floor and pedestrian environment', 'designs and their layout in harmony with the surrounding and landscape facilities', 'facilities checking and patrol for safety' and 'entire area of the public open space'. Based on the above findings, the following reform measures are put forwards for improvement of the public open space quality; First, the public open spaces should be equipped with sufficient amenities. Second, it is necessary to check the facilities regularly, while enhancing the safety through patrols. Third, it is essential to reflect user's needs in public open space planning, while applying the important design elements to the public facilities. Fourth, in order to create a comfortable pedestrian environment within the public open space, it is deemed necessary to divide the space into the passages for passers-by and the recesses for uses. Fifth, it is necessary to amend the Building Code to the effects that the radio of the landscaped area to the entire area can be readjusted together with the night lighting facilities. Sixth, it is desirable to give the weights to the important design elements for the public open spaces, so that the quality public open spaces can benefit from the incentives. In addition, regular maintenance and management should be ensured by policies.

  • 사용성의 주관적인 판단기준으로써 재미(Fun)라는 요소는 사용성 지각에 있어 중요한 역할을 할 수 있다는 논의는 제기된 반면 개념자체의 모호성과 객관적인 측정의 어려움으로 인해 실증적인 연구가 많이 이루어지지 못했다. 재미와 관련된 기존의 연구들은 시각적인 요인에만 국한되었다. Shneiderman(2004)은 재미를 설계하기 위한 5가지 fun-feature 중 하나로 만족스러운 소리(satisfying sound)를 제시하였는데, 시각적인 요인 못지않게 청각적인 요소는 인간-컴퓨터 상호작용에서 사용자에게 과제를 적절하게 수행해나가고 있는지에 대한 하나의 피드백으로도 작용할 수 있고, 즐거움을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 승차권 자동발매기를 중심으로 소리의 유무와 소리의 재미수준이 사용성에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 소리가 없는 조건, 재미없는 소리 조건, 재미있는 소리 조건에 따라 사용성을 다르게 지각할 것이라고 가정하였다. 또한 모형의 사용성 수준이 매개 변인으로 작용할 수 있다고 보고 사용하기 좋은 모형과 좋지 않은 모형 두 가지를 제시하였다. 참가자들은 두 가지 모형에 대해 각각의 소리조건에 따라 과제를 수행하고 모형과 소리 조건에 대해 집단 면접을 실시하였다. 실험 결과 재미있는 소리조건에서는 정답률이 다른 소리 조건들에 비해 더 높았으며 총클릭수는 더 적었다. 면접 결과에서는 좋지 않은 모형에 재미있는 소리는 긍정적으로 인식되지 않음을 발견하였다. 이는 Davis(1992)가 사용성이 뒷받침 되지 않은 상황에서 재미는 긍정적인 요인으로 작용하지 않는다는 주장을 지지한다. 본 연구는 재미의 한 구성 요소인 소리를 통해서 사용성에 있어 재미가 중요한 역할을 할 수 있다는 것과 사용성을 전제하지 않은 것에 있어 재미요소의 적용은 부정적으로 인식될 수 있다는 점을 제안하였다.

Study on the Next Disaster Safety Communication Network in M2M Communication (사물지능통신을 이용한 차세대 재난안전통신망에 관한 연구)

  • In the past few years, M2M (Machine-to-Machine) applications have become a hot topic in the wireless industry. While M2M applications can be used for many purposes (smart homes, smart metering/electricity meter reading, fleet management, mobile workforce, automobile insurance, vending machines, etc), and in many sectors (healthcare, agriculture, commercial, industrial, retail, utility, etc.), smart metering applications or smart grids present the biggest growth potential in the M2M market today. M2M platform is the future ubiquitous network technologies which provide the integrated service with the networks and devices. The promising technologies to tackle these problems are the Semantic technologies, for interoperability, and the Agent technologies for management of complex systems. In this paper the information communication technique based on the disaster prevention system's for the M2M, concepts and its requirement technology and application are studied.

A Study on Level of Service of Pedestrian Facility in Transfer Stations at Urban Railroad (도시철도 환승역의 환승보행시설의 서비스수준에 관한 연구)

  • The government continues to make efforts to improve effectiveness, integration and connectivity of public transportation systems. But there have been only a few studies about it. This paper addresses the quality evaluation of pedestrian facility service in transfer stations at urban railroad. LOS (Level Of Service) model of urban railroad by facility based on the body ellipse and density recalculated considering the recent Korean body standard and the suggested Pedestrian Moving Equivalent (PME) and Pedestrian Waiting Equivalent (PWE). For LOS model for the ticket booths and ticket vending machines, queuing theory has been applied to determine LOS of Pedestrians. And the importance weights among the pedestrian facilities is obtained by applying AHP analysis. Lastly, this paper shows and discusses the evaluation results of overall LOS of pedestrian facilities of five urban railroad transfer stations in Seoul.

An Establishment of Greenhouse Gas Information System using Excel Spreadsheets (엑셀 스프레드시트를 활용한 온실가스 정보시스템 구축)

  • Climate change is the biggest environmental issue of our times. A variety of activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have been in progress to observe the Kyoto Protocol. Especially, the Energy Target Scheme is created to reduce greenhouse emission with the supervision of Korean government. This includes Green-house Gas Information Systems to promote activities in the private sector to reduce green-house gas emissions, to cut a cost of energy use, and to reduce GHG emissions. Also, the system has calculated the amount of greenhouse gases. Without any additional investment, 2.75% savings are increased over the previous year. In service sector, a cooperation of customers and employees is necessary. A reduction of GHG emissions requires a proper service organization, considering an amount of investment and payback period. Without any additional investment or replacement, employees can save energy easily turning off ventilation systems an hour before employees' departure, installing timers to turn off water purifiers and vending machines after some period of no use. The Green-house Gas Information System is similar to that of Environmental Management System. However, the Excel is the best program to calculate an amount of green-house gas emissions, and to assess for a reduced amount of GHG emissions. A goal of this research is to propose a practical method in the private sector to calculate an amount of green-house gases. The Green-house gas Information System based on Excel spreadsheet gives standards for good evaluation. The greenhouse gas information system establishes and executes the policies and objectives related to greenhouse gas emissions Similar to ISO 14001 environment management system structures, the advantages of using simplified Excel Sheet for calculating GHG emissions and reducing GHG emissions are easy to access.

A Bottle Recycling Information Management System for the Promotion of Saving and Recycling of Resources Due (자원 순환 촉진을 위한 빈병 재활용 정보 관리 시스템)

  • Since Korea is highly dependent on energy imports, it has been making efforts to save energy resources by enacting laws to promote resource saving and recycling. Recently, as a part of recycling of empty bottles, a bottle unattended collecting machine has been installed in the big shopping mall in the metropolitan area. However, there is no commercialization of the unattended collecting machine in Korea and the smart device application for providing information on empty bottle recycling is not yet provided. In this paper, we have designed and constructed a bottle recycling information management system to promote resource recycling. The manager has built a homepage that can manage the information of the empty bottle and the a bottle unattended collecting machine. Also, many people with smart devices can easily access bottle recycling information by using camera and barcode search and label search.
