The paper describes a hysteretic buck converter including a differentiator and an adaptive hysteresis window controller. Differentiating the feedback signal achieves ultra-fast switching of the buck converter. The adaptive hysteresis window control allows a monotonous operation with predictable noise spectrum, and gives way to efficient design for variable supply and output voltages. The measurement results in a $0.13-{\mu}m$ CMOS process indicated that the switching frequency became double times higher, and the voltage ripple was reduced by up to 69%. They also indicated that the normalized switching frequency variation was reduced by 74% with variable $V_{DD}$ and by 63% with variable $V_{OUT}$. The power efficiency was improved by 3.5% depending on loading condition.
For the variable speed in automatic control, this paper describes, at first, performance equations of an induction motor which has the free rotating stator. This motor with rotating stator has a speed control factor itself by equivalent variable frequency in stator side. Secondly, an additional invertor source on the rotor slip ring serves the purpose of improving the speed control factor. The advantages decribed above permit to control the speed continuosly from zero to maximum allowable speed with low energy of thyristor a feed-back device may be used for speed stabilization under variable load.
Design of piezoelectric energy harvester for a wide operating frequency range is a challenging problem and is currently being investigated by many researchers. Widening the operating frequency is required, as the energy is harvested from ambient source of vibration which consists of spectrum of frequency. This paper presents a new technique to increase the operating frequency range which is achieved by designing a harvester featured by a propped cantilever beam with variable over hang length. The proposed piezoelectric energy harvester is modeled analytically using Euler Bernoulli beam theory and the effectiveness of the harvester is demonstrated through experimentation. The results from analytical model and from experimentation reveal that the proposed energy harvester generates an open circuit output voltage ranging from 36.43 V to 11.94 V for the frequency range of 27.24 Hz to 48.47 Hz. The proposed harvester produces continuously varying output voltage and power in the broadened operating frequency range.
This study is being carried out, in two different random sample groups, between 20 men who were radiation exposed workers in the two general hospitals located in "T" city as a experimental group and 20 healthy men who were non-radiation exposed workers as a control group. The occurring frequency of the sister chromatid exchange as a biological dosemeter of radiation were studied. And the age, duration of employment and smoking were used as variable for the experiment. The results are as follows : The frequency of SCE were noticed respectively by each variable : 1) by age as a variable, the frequency were increased notably in radiation exposed workers group rather than a control group(p<0.05). 2) by duration of employment, the difference of the frequency were not recognised significantly in statistical among radiation exposed workers. 3) in smoker the frequency were increased notably in a radiation exposed workers than a control groups(p<0.05). Taking into consideration the above results, the age and smoking could affect the frequency of SCE, however, the size of sample were too small to generalize. Therefore, the following suggestions are recommended to get more accurate result. 1) In order to clarify the correlation in a smoking as variable, finding the volume of smoking and its related factor are necessarily required. 2) In order to confirm the correlation in each variable, adopting of a bigger-sized sample are needed and the study itself also be carried out repeatedly.

In order to drive gas discharge lamps, DC-AC converters with a LCC resonant tank, whose output voltage is adjusted by a variable frequency control are frequently used. However, when they are activated by varying the operating frequency, converters are frequently damaged by unstable operation, due to the rising and falling of the operating frequency near the resonant frequency. To solve this problem, a simple protection circuit for the power supply of a gas discharge lamp is proposed in this paper. This circuit senses the primary current of the main transformer. Using this protection circuit, the operating frequency of the lamp driving inverter system is kept close to and on the right side of the resonant frequency and the inverter is always operated in the ZVS condition. The resulting stable variable frequency operation allows various gas discharge lamps to be tested without the risk of damaging the main switches, because the protection circuit can protect the power MOSFETs of bridge converters from abnormal conditions. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed protection circuit are verified through the experimental results.

In this paper, a new variable active inductor using a conventional grounded active inductor with feedback variable LC-resonator is proposed. The grounded active inductor is realized by the gyrator-C topology and the variable LC-resonator is realized by the low-Q spiral inductor and varactor. This variable LC-resonator can compensate the degradation of Q-factor due to parasitic capacitance of a transistor, and the frequency range with high Q-factor is adjustable by resonance frequency adjustment of LC-resonator. The fabricated variable active inductor with Magnachip $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process shows that high-Q frequency range can be adjusted according to varactor control voltage from 4.66 GHz to 5.45 GHz and Q-factor is higher than 50 in the operating frequency ranges. The measured inductance at 4.9GHz can be controlled from 4.12 nH to 5.97 nH by control voltage.
In this paper, a novel quasi-direct power control (Q-DPC) scheme based on a resonant frequency adaptive proportional-resonant (PR) current controller with a variable frequency resonant phase locked loop (RPLL) is proposed, which can achieve a fast power response with a unity power factor. It can also adapt to variations of the generator frequency in T-type Three-level shaft synchronous generator (SSG) converters. The PR controller under the static α-β frame is designed to track ac signals and to avert the strong cross coupling under the rotating d-q frame. The fundamental frequency can be precisely acquired by a RPLL from the generator terminal voltage which is distorted by harmonics. Thus, the resonant frequency of the PR controller can be confirmed exactly with optimized performance. Based on an instantaneous power balance, the load power feed-forward is added to the power command to improve the anti-disturbance performance of the dc-link. Simulations based on MATLAB/Simulink and experimental results obtained from a 75kW prototype validate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
Zero-Cross Detector makes pilot signal to control the power to CEDM(Control Element Drive Mechanism). Existing Zero-Cross Detectors has had a problem which can cause unexpected reactor trip resulted from fluctuating frequency of input signal coming from M/G Set. The existing Zero-Cross Detector can't work properly when power frequency is varying because it was designed to work under stable M/G Set operation, and produces wrong pilot signal and output voltage. In this report the Zero-Cross Detector is improved to resolve voltage fluctuating problem by using new devices such as digital noise filtering circuit, variable cycle compensator and alarm circuit. And through the performance verification it shows that new circuit is better than old one. If suggested detector is applied to plant, it is possible to use it under House Load Operation because stable voltage can be generated by new Zero-Cross Detector.
It is suggested that the PWM inverter is controlled by Digital Software Programming. VVVF(Variable Voltage Variable Frequency) inverter control being used by PWM control for driving the motor with speed-varying, makes the PWM pattern with calculating the output voltage and frequency, and with controlling the carrier and signal, so actually this method is difficult to correspond with driving the motor by using voltage-varying and frequency-varying. Therefore this research suggested the new algorithm controlled by micro processor which is already stored by various PWM form of output voltage by using fundamental data of the carrier and signal. The PWM wave can be controlled with real time by using extra hardware and digital software and to speed up program processing, the control signals to switch the power semi-conductor of three phase PWM inverter, simultaneously use the output signal by microprocessor and extra hardware, and control signal by software. In the end, this method was proved by applying to Three Phase Voltage-type Inverter.
Hysteresis current control is one of the simplest techniques used to control currents for high speed drive systems, because of its simplicity of implementation, fast current control response, and inherent peak current limiting capability. However the conventional fixed-band hysteresis control has a variable switching frequency throughout the fundamental period, and consequently the load current harmonics spreaded on the wide frequency range. In this paper, a simple, novel alterative approach is proposed for a variable-hysteresis band current controller which uses feedback techniques to achieve constant switching frequency with good dynamic response. The method is easily implemented in hardware, the resultant controller is easily tuned to a particular load, and has good immunity to variation in PV parameter and dc supply voltage.
