  • Ubiquitous computing is technology that provides services appropriate for the user. At places where environmental and situational context are relevant in making the determination of what services are appropriate, there are sensor nodes installed, which automatically collect, manage and control environmental information. In this computing environment, in order to meet the requirements of services provided to users, a context awareness system is needed for context awareness processing. In this thesis, using RFID/USN sensors, the context of a user entering and leaving an area was produced, and the user's identification information was received via the RFID reader and antenna. At the same time, to decide whether or not to allow access for the user, a distance sensor node was installed to collect context data. Based on this, a system that provides practical services needed in real life for users was designed and implemented. The context of a user entering an area was produced, which the system recognized and provided appropriate services for the user.

  • Overload vehicles operate damage to road, bridge, and then increasing in maintenance and repair cost because structures are reduced durability. The existing regulation systems have many problems and need coping measure. Therefore, this paper organized Ubiquitous sensor network system for development of intelligent auto overload vehicle regulation system about high speed vehicles, also axial load WIM sensor was selected by indoor experiment through wireless protocol. And we examined possibility U-load auto overload vehicle regulation system through experiment of the transmission and reception distance. If this system will apply to road and bridge, might be effective for economy and convenience through establishment of U-IT system. And high speed vehicle that was amalgamate IT technology and existing overload regulation problems, also tested wireless sensor for USN organization. This experiment aim to organize system interface for user through perfection man-less, wireless system of Internal/External Network from high speed WIN sensor with USN organization. Accordingly, it is necessary experimentation through Test Bed for constitution External network and application of actually regulations using WCDMA/HSDPA.

A Study on Point Traffic Sensors' Placement for Detecting the Dilemma Zone Problem (딜레마 구간 검지를 위한 지점교통센서 배치에 관한 연구)

  • This paper suggests a sensor's placement method for detecting the dilemma zone problem when real-time driver's safety service is provided at signalized intersections by multiple pointed traffic sensors using USN environments. For detecting the dangerous situations from vehicles accelerating through yellow intervals, red-light running and stopping abruptly like as dilemma zone problem, VISSIM(microscopic, behavior-based multi-purpose traffic simulation program) is used to perform a real-time multiple detection situation by changing the input data like as various inflow-volume, design speed change, driver perception and response time. As a result, the optimal interval of traffic sensors is 20~27m, and the initialized sensor location from stop-line is different according to road design speed. Moreover, the pattern of detection about dilemma zone is also different according to inflow-volumes. This paper shows that the method is useful to evaluate the sensor's placement problem based on micro-simulation and the results can be used as the basic research for USN services.

  • The home network technology which used USN is developing quickly. Use yet line to a lot of part as home network technology. Recently be leap into prominence to technology core of home network as wireless technology a ZigBee. ZigBee Perceive with cognition from tag and sensor as use USN, and processing, save, integration, and provide information. Implement the access control system which used technology BigBee with design at these papers. The wireless-based construction that used ZigBee. The influence that can let you implement early a Ubiquitous society is technology there being. Also, show by a large spinoff in an allied industry field, and improve the quality of life, and invention calls value added of leading edge IT service and product. The implementation of mobile base on access control system using zigbee method is expected to be helpful for the convenience in home network use.

  • In this paper, we have shown the performance analysis results of the LoRa low power wide area network under duty cycle local regulation in Korean RFID/USN frequency band. Especially, we analyzed uplink throughput and data transmission time of a single LoRa end device. From the analysis results, duty cycle regulation, in which a data transmission should be ended within 0.4 second, limits the performance of LoRa network. Therefore, it is necessary to revise Korea's duty cycle regulation referencing EU regulation in order to assess LoRa network in Korea.

  • To manage sensing information such as temperature, humidity and so on efficiently, it is need to use special purpose protocol. In this reason, IETF WG proposed CoAP protocol, and it is on Internet draft. If it is possible to work on a specific protocol, sensor end-nodes and network devices will be managed efficiently. However, end-nodes have restricted resources, it is hard to applying to CoAP protocol directly. In this paper we analyse a CoAP protocol stack for USN. To verify this protocol quickly, at first we implemented CoAP protocol stack over PC environments. After the logical verification, we applied this protocol to the USN environment. To do this, we ported CoAP protocol to Cygwin environment, and proposed solutions for hardware dependencies, and it is verified through experiments.

  • Based on the rapid development of the computer network technology, the ubiquitous sensor network (USN) was developed to enable us to have access to the communication environment anywhere and anytime without the need for recognizing computers or networks. Moreover, with the increasingly high interest on individual health, the USN technology is being applied to diverse sectors for healthcare and disease prevention. In this paper, a system was designed and implemented using the USN-based RF communication for doctors and nurses who care patients in the hospital to easily measure and control the physiological data on blood pressure and blood sugar. In addition, a database was designed using MS SQL database to store and manage the blood pressure and blood sugar data, which were passively or actively measured from patients. Using the results of this study, the physiological data of patients can be managed in real time and emergency situation can be instantly addressed. It is expected that the healthcare service can be improved and the paradigm of healthcare service environment can be changed.

  • In this paper, we study and simulate the suggested position control system using GPS and USN to replace the existing control system of a crane. For the correct approach, the position control system of a crane is divided into the control system of the ground station and the mobile station The hardware is comprised of GPS receiving module to receive the position control data of a crane from GPS satellites, bluetooth communication module for the data communication between the ground station and the mobile station, supersonic sensor module for a precise position control of a crane, motor to replace a crane roller, embedded MCU(ATmega128L) and so on. In here, an embedded MCU controls GPS receiving module, bluetooth communication module and supersonic sensor module. The Software is comprised of three programs. Three programs are the program to filter GGA output part in a receiving data of GPS receiving module, the driving program for supersonic sensor module, the digital map program to monitor a crane location. From the simulation results, it is demonstrated that the proposed system has the capability of crane position control with 1cm precision.

  • Since the development of the Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs), the distributed lookup services are one of the hot topics in the networking area. The main reason of this popularity is the simplicity of the lookup structure. However, the simple key based search mechanism makes the so called "keyword" based search difficult if not impossible. Thus, the applicability of the DHTs is limited to certain areas. In this paper. we find that DHTs can be used as the ubiquitous sensor network (USN) metadata lookup service across a large number of sensor networks. The popularity of the Ubiquitous Sensor Network has motivated the development of the USN middleware services for the sensor networks. One of the key functionalities of the USN middleware service is the lookup of the USN metadata, by which users get various information about the sensor network such as the type of the sensor networks and/or nodes, the residual of the batteries, the type of the sensor nodes. Traditional distributed hash table based lookup systems are good for one sensor network. However, as the number of sensor network increases, the need to integrate the lookup services of many autonomous sensor networks so that they can provide the users an integrated view of the entire sensor network. In this paper, we provide a hybrid lookup model, in which the autonomous lookup services are combined together and provide seamless services across the boundary of a single lookup services. We show that the hybrid model can provide far better lookup performance than a single lookup system.

  • In this paper, we implements the USN based context-aware vessel system for a group of ships which receives the specific sensor data that is the result of context-aware after collecting from each of the among a group of ships. The received date is shared and managed by monitoring system. If this monitoring system have trouble the sensor from any ship, the it's control was transferred from the main monitoring ship to the any ship and the second main ship collect the data then recognize the context-aware. Also, this system have the advantage of that reduce the load due to the sensor node communication because just collect the optional sensor data.
