가버 필터와 밀도 기반 공간 클러스터링을 이용한 피부의 이상 영역 검출 (Detection of Abnormal Region of Skin using Gabor Filter and Density-based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise)

  • In this paper, we suggest a new system that detects abnormal region of skim. First, an illumination elimination algorithm which uses LAB color model is processed on input facial image to obtain robust facial image for illumination, and then gabor filter is processed to detect the reactivity of discontinuity. And last, the density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN) algorithm is processed to classify areas of wrinkles, dots, and other skin diseases. This method allows the user to check the skin condition of the images taken in real life.

  • This research proposes an efficient Monte Carlo algorithm for computing error probability in high performance digital communication st stems. It characterizes special features of the problem and suggests an importance sampling algorithm specially designed to handle the problem. It uses a shifted exponential density as the importance sampling density, and shows an adaptive way of choosing the rate and the origin of the shifted exponential density. Instead of equal allocation, an intelligent allocation of the samples is proposed so that more samples are allocated to more important part of the error probability. The algorithm uses the nested feature of the error space and avoids redundancy in estimating the probability. The algorithm is applied to an example data set and shows a great improvement in accuracy of the error probability estimation.

  • Typical channel allocation algorithms for secondary users do not include processes to reduce the frequency of switching from one channel to another caused by random interruptions by primary users, which results in high packet drops and delays. In this letter, with the purpose of decreasing the number of switches made between channels, we propose a nonparametric channel allocation algorithm that uses robust kernel density estimation to effectively schedule idle channel resources. Experiment and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms both random and parametric channel allocation algorithms in terms of throughput and packet drops.

Calculation of Spectral Efficiency for Estimating Spectrum Requirements of IMT-Advanced in Korean Mobile Communication Environments

  • In this paper, we analyze the algorithm of the methodology developed by ITU for the calculation of spectrum requirements of IMT-Advanced. We propose an approach to estimate user density using traffic statistics, and to estimate spectrum efficiencies using carrier-to-interference ratio distribution and capacity theory as well as experimental data under Korean mobile communication environments. We calculate the IMT-Advanced spectrum requirements based on the user density and spectral efficiencies acquired from the new method. In the case of spectral efficiency using higher modulation and coding schemes, the spectrum requirement of IMT-Advanced is approximately 2700 MHz. When applying a $2{\times}2$ multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system, it is approximately 1500 MHz; when applying a $4{\times}4$ MIMO antenna system, it is approximately 1050 MHz. Considering that the development of new technology will increase spectrum efficiency in the future, the spectrum requirement of IMT-Advanced in the Korean mobile communication environment is expected to be approximately 1 GHz bandwidth.

  • D2D(Device-to-Device) 통신과 소셜커머스 서비스를 결합한 D2D 광고 확산 알고리즘은 소상공인들을 위한 효율적인 광고를 가능하게 한다. D2D 광고 확산 알고리즘에서는 효율적인 광고 확산을 위해 사용자 밀집도를 기반으로 목표지역을 설정하고 인접한 목표지역들은 그룹을 형성한다. 광고는 형성된 그룹을 기반으로 확산된다. 그룹을 형성하지 못한 고립된 목표지역들은 AP(Access Point)와의 거리에 따라 그룹 형성 여부가 결정한다. 본 논문에서는 시뮬레이션을 통해 고립된 사용자 밀집지역을 위한 최대 거리 변화에 따른 성공적으로 수신한 전체 사용자 수와 평균 릴레이 유저의 수에 대한 성능을 비교 분석한다.

Deep CNN based Pilot Allocation Scheme in Massive MIMO systems

  • This paper introduces a pilot allocation scheme for massive MIMO systems based on deep convolutional neural network (CNN) learning. This work is an extension of a prior work on the basic deep learning framework of the pilot assignment problem, the application of which to a high-user density nature is difficult owing to the factorial increase in both input features and output layers. To solve this problem, by adopting the advantages of CNN in learning image data, we design input features that represent users' locations in all the cells as image data with a two-dimensional fixed-size matrix. Furthermore, using a sorting mechanism for applying proper rule, we construct output layers with a linear space complexity according to the number of users. We also develop a theoretical framework for the network capacity model of the massive MIMO systems and apply it to the training process. Finally, we implement the proposed deep CNN-based pilot assignment scheme using a commercial vanilla CNN, which takes into account shift invariant characteristics. Through extensive simulation, we demonstrate that the proposed work realizes about a 98% theoretical upper-bound performance and an elapsed time of 0.842 ms with low complexity in the case of a high-user-density condition.

치악산 국립공원의 이용객이 야생조류의 서식에 미치는 영향 (User′s Effects on Avifauna in Chiak Mountain National Park)

  • 본 연구는 치악산 국립공원을 대상으로 이용객이 야생조류의 서식에 미치는 영향을 밝히기 위하여 실시되었다. 조사를 위하여 고도 500m 이하의 주등산로, 부등산로. 등산금지구역과 500m 이상의 능선부와 계곡부의 주등산로 등 총 5개의 조사지를 설정하여, 1988년 5월부터 10월 사이 3회에 걸쳐 Line transect법으로 조사하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 치악산 지역에서 조사기간 동안 관찰된 조류는 텃새 22종. 여름철새 13종, 겨울철새 5종, 나그네새 4종의 총 44종 613개체로 평균서식밀도는 2.96마리/ha이었다. 주요 우점종은 박새, 붉은머리오목눈이, 곤줄박이. 쇠박새. 진박새의 순이었으며 출현 종수 및 종다양도는 이용강도가 낮은 지역에서 보다 이용강도가 높은 주등산로에서 낮게 나타났고, 주등산로에서도 이용량이 많은 여름철에 현저히 낮았다. 그러나 유사도지수는 이용강도 보다는 물리적 서식환경의 차이에 따라 달라지는 것으로 조사되었다. 야생조류의 평균 출현빈도는 6.77회/km이었으며, 이용강도가 높아짐에 따라 감소하였다. 이상과 같이 야생조류의 종수. 종다양도 및 출현빈도는 이용객에 의하여 악영향을 받고 있으며, 이용객이 집중하는 주등산로에서 더욱 심각한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이용자의 영향이 큰 주등산로를 중심으로 하여 국립공원내 유흥중심적 활동제한 및 번식기의 이용통제등 적극적인 야생조류의 보호대책이 필요하였다.

  • Mobile multi-hop relaying (MMR) technology is being considered as a promising solution capable to enhance coverage, user throughput, and system capacity of the current wired backbone dependent wireless access networks. Since the relaying nodes do not need a wired backbone access, MMR technology offers easy and low-cost deployment, flexible cell planning, and adaptive traffic handling performance. In this paper, we investigate performance and cost effectiveness of the MMR technology deployment in the IEEE802.16j based WiBro/WiMAX systems. We first introduce standardization activities and research issues of MMR WiBro/ WiMAX systems. Since the coverage extension problem may occur in metropolitan areas as well as suburban or rural areas where user density is relatively low or moderate, we introduce several MMR topologies and analyze cost-effectiveness of MMR based coverage extension with respect to the user traffic density. Then, we argue cost effect on MMR technology deployment and throughput performance, Finally, we introduce further study issues including sectorized base station based MMR deployment approaches and the single and multi-frame structure MMR approaches.

Development of a haptic communication system for fashion image experience in a virtual environment

  • The goal of this study was to develop a haptic communication system that can convey the tactile sensation of fashion materials in a virtual environment. In addition, the effectiveness and how realistically the virtual fabric image of this system delivers the tactile sensation of actual fabric was verified. First, a literature review was conducted through which the tactile attributes of fashion materials were defined that would be implemented in the haptic communication system. Then, a questionnaire for evaluating the tactile attributes of fashion materials was developed. Next, a haptic communication system was designed to convey fashion image experiences in a virtual environment, from which a haptic rendering model was suggested. The effectiveness of the haptic communication system was evaluated by verifying user experiences with questions developed through a user evaluation experiment. The validity of the evaluation questions pertaining to the tactile attributes and the effects of the haptic communication system were verified. Factor analysis was conducted to verify the evaluation of the tactile sense attributes of the fashion material, which identified density, thickness, and elasticity of the material as key factors. As a result of comparisons between the tactile sense through haptic characteristics and through touching, it was observed that regarding density and thickness, tactile sense experience led to greater perceived reality, while this was not the case for elasticity.

런-길이 제한 부호를 패리티로 사용한 연판정 LDPC 부호의 수직자기기록 채널 성능 (Performance of Run-length Limited Coded Parity of Soft LDPC Code for Perpendicular Magnetic Recording Channel)

  • 본 논문에서는 수직자기기록 저장장치에서 사용되는 LDPC 부호의 패리티 부분을 (1, 7) 런-길이 제한 부호로 사용할 때, 연판정 값을 입력으로 한 경우의 성능을 조사한다. 사용자 데이터는 최대 천이 런(maximum transition run) 부호로 인코딩된다. 부호율의 손해를 최소화 하기 위하여 LDPC 부호의 패리티에만 (1, 7) 런-길이 제한 부호를 적용한다. 본 논문에서는 성능 향상을 위하여 사용자 데이터 부분에 대하여만 연판정 출력 비터비 알고리즘(soft output Viterbi algorithm, SOVA)을 사용한다. SOVA를 사용한 경우의 성능은 26dB 보다 작은 신호대잡음비에서 좋게 나타난 것에 반하여 26dB 보다 높은 신호대잡음비에서는 나쁘게 나타났다. 이것은 높은 지터 잡음과 LDPC 디코더에 두 가지 다른 형태의 입력에 기인한다.
