A Study on the Utilization of Information and Communication Assistive Devices for Bridging the Digital Divide of the Disabled (장애인 정보격차 해소를 위한 정보통신 보조기기 활용방안 연구)

  • The purposes of this study are to investigate and analyze the level of information and the state of digital divide of the disabled by surveying the demand for information and communication assistive devices, and to provide basic data for plans on the development and utilization of information and communication assistive devices. In order to understand the actual condition and the state of digital divide of persons with disabilities, the differences of possession and accessibility of information technology devices, usage ability, and utilization were analyzed according to the disability profile by using the T-test. The results show that there are significant differences (T=-2.510*) of possession and accessibility of information technology devices with respect to the disability profile, and that the disabled have lower possession and accessibility of devices than the non-disabled. Result of this study's demand forecast shows that about 28% of total respondents are currently using information and communication assistive devices, and a majority (67%) of them answered that the use of assistive devices lend great help to their lives. The proportion of those who have been supported by the government or related organizations with information and communication assistive devices were 36% of the total respondents, and those satisfied with the performance of the devices were 46% of the total responses. Meanwhile, only 36% of total users answered that the operation and use of functions of the devices was easy and convenient, responding that the difficulty of operating assistive devices was the greatest inconvenience. Moreover, the general requests of respondents in regards to the devices were stabilization of device performance, miniaturization of size, simplification of buttons, and reduction of weight.

Diagnosis and Treatment of Deformational Plagiocephaly (자세성 사두증의 진단과 치료)

  • It is important to distinguish deformational plagiocephaly from craniosynostosis, the two conditions are different with respect to clinical progression and treatment options. Deformational plagiocephaly is diagnosed based on the patient's medical history and physical examination. Until recently, there has been no standardized method of evaluation. Visual assessment, anthropometric assessment, digital scanning, and radiologic evaluation are mostly commonly used modalities for diagnosis and assessment. Treatment of deformational plagiocephaly requires an understanding of natural progression of the disease. Deformational plagiocephaly should be classified according to its severity before the proper method and time for treatment are determined. Treatment includes repositioning, physiotherapy and remodeling with the use of orthotic devices. In general, repositioning is preferred for patients younger than six months old while treatment with the use of orthotic devices such as helmet is preferred for patients over six months old. Moreover, treatment with the use of orthotic devices is also favored for severe plagiocephaly. There is continuing research on the relation between deformational plagiocephaly and developmental delay.

  • When people stands near someone's mobile device, it can easily be seen by others. To rephrase this, attackers use human psychology to earn personal information or credit information or other. People are exposed by social engineering attacks. It is certain that we need more than just recommendation for the security to avoid social engineering attacks. This is why I proposed this paper. In this paper, I proposed an authentication technique using NFC and Hash function to stand against social engineering attack. Proposed technique result is showing that it could prevent shoulder surfing, touch event information, spyware attack using screen capture and smudge attack which relies on detecting the oily smudges left behind by user's fingers. Besides smart phone, IPad, Galaxy tab, Galaxy note and more mobile devices has released and releasing. And also, these mobile devices usage rate is increasing widely. We need to attend these matters and study in depth.

Easy Keypad - Soft Keyboard for Login Information Input in Smart Devices (쉬운 키패드 - 스마트 기기에서 사용하는 로그인 정보 입력만을 위한 소프트키보드)

  • In this paper, we suggest a soft keyboard, called easy keypad, that we use only for login information input in smart devices. Especially, as easy keypad is applied to MTS(Mobile Trading System) we suggest easy keypad in MTS. Easy keypad UI in MTS represents 20 letters and users input login information by using 20 letters. We suggest protocol which decides letters represented in easy keypad UI, which is code for users to input login information by using 20 letters. We analyze easy keypad's safe degree for soft keyboard security threat, especially when it comes to point hacking, we suggest comparison among original soft keyboard's safe degree. Also we suggest mathematical fomula for measuring soft keyboard's convenience and then we analyze the result of soft keyboard's convenience by the presented mathematical formula.

  • Smart TV is expected to take the center stage of the recent "smartization" trend in IT and consumer electronics as it performs a hub for various smart IT devices, such as smart phone, smart pad, PC, etc. It is distinct from traditional TVs or even IPTVs in the sense that it provides immersive and interactive experiences via apps downloaded through TV app store. Smart TV could serve as a new intermediary device between other smart devices and the Internet. While it started experiencing a rapid growth, little research has been conducted to understand this emerging technology in terms of its user acceptance and adoption by users. The current research attempts to fill the gap in the field by examining factors and processes for this new technology to be adopted by users. This paper draws on theories of IT acceptance and use, such as the "Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology", to investigate factors affecting "intention to use" of smart TV. The proposed research model is analyzed using the structural equation modeling approach. Findings show that such factors as innovativeness, switching cost, switching benefit, service interface, and user interface affect users' intention to use smart TV, through effort expectation, performance expectation, and social influence. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed.

  • This study examined the factors affecting the intention to use the wearable device consumers and the factors that have positive effects on the intention to use the wearable device or the consumers who have not yet used the wearable device. The purpose of this study was to examine the perceived usefulness, perceived usefulness, consumer individuality (individual innovation, self-efficacy, subjective norm) and wearable device characteristics (aesthetics, compatibility) of technology acceptance model (TAM). The results of the analysis are as follows. This study focused on the effect of consumers on the intention to use. (TPB) and Davis (1989) proposed technology acceptance model which is applied to various fields to predict the intention to use as it is proved validity and usefulness as a theory explaining various social behaviors. TAM) in order to examine the intention to use. In addition, we added consumer characteristics and variables related to product characteristics of wearable devices, which have not been studied much in previous studies.

Intrusion Artifact Acquisition Method based on IoT Botnet Malware (IoT 봇넷 악성코드 기반 침해사고 흔적 수집 방법)

  • With the rapid increase in the use of IoT and mobile devices, cyber criminals targeting IoT devices are also on the rise. Among IoT devices, when using a wireless access point (AP), problems such as packets being exposed to the outside due to their own security vulnerabilities or easily infected with malicious codes such as bots, causing DDoS attack traffic, are being discovered. Therefore, in this study, in order to actively respond to cyber attacks targeting IoT devices that are rapidly increasing in recent years, we proposed a method to collect traces of intrusion incidents artifacts from IoT devices, and to improve the validity of intrusion analysis data. Specifically, we presented a method to acquire and analyze digital forensics artifacts in the compromised system after identifying the causes of vulnerabilities by reproducing the behavior of the sample IoT malware. Accordingly, it is expected that it will be possible to establish a system that can efficiently detect intrusion incidents on targeting large-scale IoT devices.

Principles for evaluating the clinical implementation of novel digital healthcare devices (첨단 디지털 헬스케어 의료기기를 진료에 도입할 때 평가원칙)

  • With growing interest in novel digital healthcare devices, such as artificial intelligence (AI) software for medical diagnosis and prediction, and their potential impacts on healthcare, discussions have taken place regarding the regulatory approval, coverage, and clinical implementation of these devices. Despite their potential, 'digital exceptionalism' (i.e., skipping the rigorous clinical validation of such digital tools) is creating significant concerns for patients and healthcare stakeholders. This white paper presents the positions of the Korean Society of Radiology, a leader in medical imaging and digital medicine, on the clinical validation, regulatory approval, coverage decisions, and clinical implementation of novel digital healthcare devices, especially AI software for medical diagnosis and prediction, and explains the scientific principles underlying those positions. Mere regulatory approval by the Food and Drug Administration of Korea, the United States, or other countries should be distinguished from coverage decisions and widespread clinical implementation, as regulatory approval only indicates that a digital tool is allowed for use in patients, not that the device is beneficial or recommended for patient care. Coverage or widespread clinical adoption of AI software tools should require a thorough clinical validation of safety, high accuracy proven by robust external validation, documented benefits for patient outcomes, and cost-effectiveness. The Korean Society of Radiology puts patients first when considering novel digital healthcare tools, and as an impartial professional organization that follows scientific principles and evidence, strives to provide correct information to the public, make reasonable policy suggestions, and build collaborative partnerships with industry and government for the good of our patients.

Optical Encryption Scheme for Cipher Feedback Block Mode Using Two-step Phase-shifting Interferometry

  • We propose a novel optical encryption scheme for cipher-feedback-block (CFB) mode, capable of encrypting two-dimensional (2D) page data with the use of two-step phase-shifting digital interferometry utilizing orthogonal polarization, in which the CFB algorithm is modified into an optical method to enhance security. The encryption is performed in the Fourier domain to record interferograms on charge-coupled devices (CCD)s with 256 quantized gray levels. A page of plaintext is encrypted into digital interferograms of ciphertexts, which are transmitted over a digital information network and then can be decrypted by digital computation according to the given CFB algorithm. The encryption key used in the decryption procedure and the plaintext are reconstructed by dual phase-shifting interferometry, providing high security in the cryptosystem. Also, each plaintext is sequentially encrypted using different encryption keys. The random-phase mask attached to the plaintext provides resistance against possible attacks. The feasibility and reliability of the proposed CFB method are verified and analyzed with numerical simulations.

Comprehensive Senior Technology Acceptance Model for Digital Health Devices (디지털 헬스기기의 통합적 고령자 기술수용도 모델)

  • We conducted the analysis using the data of the '2019 Korean Middle and Elderly Technology Acceptance Survey' to verify the comprehensive senior technology acceptance model. In this study, we examined the significant effect the relationship between behavioral intention to use the diital health devices and perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, gerontechnology self-efficacy, gerontechnology anxiety, facilitating conditions, attitude to life and satisfaction through the structural equation. The results of the research model are as follows. First, the usefulness and ease of use had significant effects on intention to use. Second, the self-efficacy had significant effects on the intention to use. But they had negative effect. Third, perceived usefulness, self-efficacy and anxiety had significant effects on ease of use. Lastly, self-efficacy, facilitating conditions, attitude to life and satisfaction had significant effects on perceived usefulness. These findings highlight that verified the comprehensive senior technology acceptance model in Korea.
