Objectives: This study was intended to investigate adults' health behaviors and eating habits according to their levels of social media use. Methods: From May 27 to July 11, 2022, an online survey was conducted of 452 male and female social media users in their 20s and 30s, and their eating habits and health behaviors were compared and analyzed according to their degree of social media use. For each of the three levels of food content use, the frequency of social media content use, and the total score range of average social media viewing time per day were divided into three parts, and a group with a score of less than 2 points was classified as low-use; a group with a score of 2 or more and less than 3 points was classified as middle-use; and a group with a score of 3 points or more was classified as high-use. Results: The use of food content was higher in women than in men (P < 0.001), and higher in those in their 20s than in those in their 30s (P < 0.001). The group with a high level of food content use showed a higher rate of post-use hunger than the group with a low level (P < 0.01). The experience of eating after using food content was also higher in the group with a high level of use than in the group with a low level of use (P < 0.001). The group with a normal or high level of food content use had more negative eating habits than the group with a low level. Conclusions: The study highlighted the need to provide desirable food content to people in their 20s and 30s with negative eating habits and to promote them so that they can use the right healthy nutrition-related content.
This study estimated a dual path model to predict consumers' intention to use a QR code virtual store by the effect of a mobile transaction system and a facilitating condition that also examined the role of experience and the use of an intention model in the context of a QR code virtual store. A longitudinal field study was conducted at selected QR code virtual stores. A questionnaire containing mobile transaction system, facilitating condition, performance expectancy, effort expectance, and intention to use was administered at two different points in time: Initial use (T1) and the second use after one month (T2). This study sampled 109 subjects who voluntarily participated in field studies twice at different time points (pooled sample=218). Participants were asked to visit at the QR code virtual store and undertake shopping tasks on their smartphones. The estimated dual path model showed that a mobile transaction system had a positive effect on performance expectancy, which influenced intention to use; however, facilitating condition had a positive effect on effort expectancy, but the effort expectance did not lead to intention to use. The effort expectance significantly also affected the performance expectance influencing intention to use QR code virtual stores. It was also found that use experience moderated the effect of mobile transaction systems on performance expectancy. The findings discussed a critical and success factor in consumer technology acceptance and use over time. A managerial implication was also discussed to capture potential users by emphasizing performance expectancy with the superiority of an innovative system or consumer facilitating condition as external resources in the introduction stage of new technology.
Objectives : To survey college students with an Alcohol Use Disorder, and analyze the reasons for their disorder. Methods : The cross-sectional study was conducted at 60 four-year colleges within Seoul and 9 other provinces. The schools and students selected for the study provide a nationally representative sample, and the survey was conducted between May 15th and June 14th 2003. 2,385 cases were analyzed using questionnaires, which included a series of questions about students' alcohol use and associated problems, as well as an Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test. Results : 42.3% of students were found to have an Alcohol Use Disorder. The probability of a student having an Alcohol Use Disorder was 1.30 times higher among male compared to female students. Those students not living with their parents or relatives were 1.40 times more likely to have an Alcohol Use Disorder. Those students where the father had a drinking problem and those who admitted that their parents drank heavily while they were growing up were 1.38 and 1.54 times more likely, respectively, to have an Alcohol Use Disorder. Those students attending a general university, joining a student club, attaining less than a B average credit score and those unsatisfied with their education were 1.60, 1.36, 1.41 and 1.27 times more likely, respectively, to have an Alcohol Use Disorder. Those students who had experience of drugs, smoking, binge drinking when they were in the last year of high school and the forceful consumption of mixed alcohol were 3.67, 1.95, 2.15 and 1.76 times more likely, respectively, to have an Alcohol Use Disorder. Conclusions : College students' with an Alcohol Use Disorder is a very severe and large problem within colleges. An Alcohol Use Disorder is determined by individual and family variables, the college environmental and life variables, as well as behavior variables.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the prevalence of alcohol and cigarette use and assess its relationship with socio-environmental, psychological, violent and behavioral factors among a sample of high school students from Lima and Callao, Peru. Methods: We utilized the data from a cross-sectional study conducted by the Yonsei Global Health Center in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Peru office in November 2016. The total sample size of this study was 1,477 students. For analysis, we used bivariate and multivariate logistic regression to calculate the unadjusted and adjusted odds ratios and their respective 95% confidence intervals. Results: The current prevalence of alcohol and cigarette use among adolescents was found to be 24.2% and 12.1%, respectively. Alcohol use was affected by age, friends' alcohol use, experience of physical fighting, and involvement in other risk behaviors (smoking, drug use, and sexual intercourse). Cigarette use was affected by perceived academic performance, friends' cigarette use, and involvement in other risk behaviors (drinking, drug use, and sexual intercourse). Furthermore, students who received affection from their parents and whose parents monitored their activities were less likely to report using both alcohol and cigarettes. Conclusion: Alcohol and cigarette use among Lima and Callao adolescents is affected by socio-environmental, violent and behavioral factors. Alcohol and cigarette use prevention initiatives should promote positive parenting practices, family togetherness, and a supportive school climate. In addition, it is needed to establish peer-led programs that promote behavioral changes in students and strengthen social relations without the presence of alcohol, cigarettes, and other harmful substances.
Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of social network service(SNS) information on intention to dental office use. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 410 users of social network service between twenty and thirty years old in Seoul and Gyeonggido after receiving informed consent from July 1 to August 3, 2015. The questionnaire consisted of general profiles of the subjects(6 items), use of dental office(3 items), use of SNS(3 items), use of dental SNS(4 items), use of general SNS(6 items), application of dental SNS(6 items), and intention to dental office use(2 items). Except 8 incomplete answers, 402 data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program. Results: The first choice of dental office was recommendation by the acquaintances. There were close correlations between the use of SNS information and the use of general SNS information according to sex(p=0.016) and the frequency of SNS(p=0.012). The use of SNS for dental information showed a meaningful correlation with sex(p=0.003). The intention to use was influenced by sex(p=0.016) and the use of SNS for dental information(p<0.001). Conclusions: The important factor of visit intention to dental service was recommendation by the acquaintances through SNS. The appropriate advertisement of visit intention is very important to improve dental health care.
The purpose of this study is to verify the hypothesis that the contents and range of library services are changed as the use of videotex systems increases. 1000 members of Chollian II were chosen as subjects for this study and the questionnaire was posted to them. The returned responses to questionnaire were analyzed with the statistical software packages 'SAS PC' and 'STATGRAPHICS'. The findings and conclusions of this study are summarised as follows: 1. Users of Chollian II make more use of videotex systems in seeking daily information than in seeking scholarly and professional information. It seems desirable to co-ordinate the services of videotex systems and libraries by redefining the traditional boundary of the two systems. Users will then conveniently get daily information through videotex servics, scholarly and professional information through the reference service of libraries. 2. Sex does not make any significant difference in the use of videotex systems. Most frequent use of videotex systems is made by those at the age of thirties. Businessmen and enterprisers make the most frequent use of videotex systems. Those of higher education are the best users. 3. As the use of videotex systems increases, use of newspapers and periodicals decreases while its increase rarely has influence on the use of library materials. 4. There is limited correlation between the use of videotex systems and that of library services. The increase of the use of videotex systems does not significantly increase or decrease the use of libraries. It changes, however, the pattern and methods of information services provided by libraries. 5. Users of special libraries make the most frequent use of videotex systems and there is not much difference in the use by users of other kinds of libraries.
The internal streets of mixed-use commercial complexes, which are the extension of urban streets, are being changed from a mediating space aiming at movement to a staying-type space according to the change of mixed-use commercial complexes. And they function as a resting place of user with court and plaza, and act as an urban public space, and accommodate an activity arising from the gathering of many people. As a result, a role of new relaxation and community space is played in the center of the city. And the aspect of publicness is brought into relief. Hence, this study is intended to examine the characteristics that the internal streets of mixed-use commercial complexes have, and furthermore, it is intended to show the planning characteristics in the contemporary mixed-use commercial complexes. With regard to the method of research, first, space configuration and role of internal streets was examined according to the change of mixed-use commercial complexes on the basic of precedent research and literature review. And the internal streets of mixed-use commercial complexes were classified into doorway part, traffic line, and open space. And the characteristics of internal streets in the mixed-use commercial complexes through the concept of architectural 'publicness' were derived as accessibility, amenity, perceptibility, openness, connectivity and symbolism. The internal streets of mixed-use commercial complexes should be changed by the space planning to secure continuity with the city on the basis of accessibility and connectivity and to reinforce visual openness in the internal streets in order to improve amenity and perceptibility, accordingly the mixed-use commercial complexes will be also born again as symbolic public space in the city. Variously changing elements to improve publicness very importantly act on the planning of internal streets in the mixed-use commercial complexes, and therefore researches should be continuously carried out.
Microblog is emerging as a new communication service because of its usefulness and real-time accessability. Recently, microblog services, such as twitter and me2day in Korea, are getting a great attention. Continuous use intention is critical to sustain the service. However, most recent studies are based on Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) and Expectation Confirmation Model(ECM). These models are only focused on individual factors and overlook social influence factors. Social influence has been indicated as a critical factor of technology adoption and diffusion in social context(Davis, 1989; Fulk et al., 1987). In this study, we explore factors related to social influence which effect on continuous use intention for 'me2day' that is one of the most famous microblog in Korea. The purpose of this study is to understand continuous use intention and examine the relationship among social influence factors, social presence, and continuous use intention. To understand the phenomenon of continuous use intention in microblog service, this study employed social influence theory and expanded it by adding personal network exposure and group norm as additional social influence factors. The results show that social identity, group norms, and social presence positively influences continuous use intention. Contrary to our expectation, personal network exposure does not influence on continuous use intention. Academically, this research can contribute to microblog research field through elucidating the relationship among social influence factors, social presence, and continuous use intention. Although there is not enough research which is considered social influence factors as major explanation for continuous use intention, this study can give novel point of view to understand continuous use intention of microblog. Practically, service providers could consider ways to encourage users to continually use microblog service by reinforcing social influence factors and social presence.
This study analyzed the effects of illumination on psychological accessibility from a view of satisfaction of night use at urban neighborhood park for actual night users. For this, we have classified the effects of illumination as five sampled independent variables from 12 effects of illumination, and tested the relationship with satisfaction of night use of a dependent variable by multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows; 1) The effects of illumination for night use at urban neighborhood park were divided into five factors; (1) direct effect, (2) effect of promoting use, (3) effect of ensuring security, (4) effect of preparing landscape in the night time, and (5) psychological effect. Among independent variables indicating characteristics of effects of each illumination, uneasiness at night use was high. 2) In a multiple regression model, when other conditions were not changed, the value of security of night use (X\ulcorner) had maximumly an affect on the value of dependent. And, the value of danger to meet the depraved(X\ulcorner) had minimally an affect on the value of dependent variable. 3) For the contribution of security of nigh use(X\ulcorner) and brightness of present using space(X$_4$) to satisfaction of night use(Y) of dependent variable, they had a nearly equal effect on that, and showed about 2 times importance compared to familiarity with park(X\ulcorner) and the beauty of park(X\ulcorner). Also, they showed about 7 times contribution to satisfaction of night use compared to danger to meet the depraved(X\ulcorner), which had minimally an affect on the value of dependent variable, as the most important variables. 4) For the effects of illumination on satisfaction of night use, the effect of ensuring security - pursues security of park for the general rather than security for the specific class or subject - and direct effect to offer proper brightness in using space relatively affected on it much compared to psychological effect, effect of preparing landscape in night time, and effect of promoting use. A research on the psychological effects among the variables related to illumination as well as physical circumstances such as the height, location, direction of illumination should be studied.
본 연구의 목적은 유튜브의 바른 사용과 관련된 용어 및 구성 요소를 살펴보는 것이다. 총 11명의 패널을 대상으로 델파이 설문을 실시하였고, 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 향후 유튜브 사용 형태가 어떻게 변할지 추측한 결과, 현재보다 다양하고 활발히 사용될 것이나 가짜 뉴스나 중독적 사용 등의 부적응적인 문제가 발생할 것이라는 합의가 도출되었다. 둘째, 올바른/올바르지 않은 유튜브 사용에 대한 용어로는 '적응적 사용'과 '부적응적 사용'을 도출하였다. 셋째, 올바른 유튜브 사용의 구성 요소로는 정보 및 콘텐츠 선별 능력, 자기조절 능력, 정보 습득 및 전달 능력, 사용 동기 및 욕구 파악, 사용 시간 조절 능력, 파급효과에 대한 고려성이라는 합의가 도출되었다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의와 한계점을 논하였다.
