Most textbooks of urban geography explain that land value drops down with distance from the Peak Land Value Intersection of urban center. However, There is little rigorous empirical work supporting this belief. Using the publicly notified individual land price data of 2013, this paper examines the structure of land value in urban center with a focus on spatial distribution of land value by land use. As an analytic result, the structure of land price varies between land uses, significantly being different from the classical model of land value in urban space. In residential lands and mixed-use lands for residence and commerce, land price gradient as a function of distance from PLVI is positive and a crater phenomenon even is identified in spatial distribution of land value. The classical model coincides only with land for commerce and office. Nonetheless, predict of land uses by land value function fairly corresponds to Alonso's model.

The purpose of this study is to construct an evaluation criteria based on the relative importance and various combinations of each evaluation index and then to appraise urban biotope in terms of nature experience and recreation. After the standard of evaluation had been developed through the review of existing literature, the relative importance of the evaluation index through expert survey was determined, and the evaluation model to assess biotope value was established. The results of this study are as follows; 1) We have constructed the seventeen evaluation criteria through literature reviews, and have provided relative importance to each evaluation index of the natural in biotope, the diversity of landscape patterns, the appearance-existence of water space, the special landscape elements, and the access based on the results of expert survey. and then we have constructed an evaluation system using the relative importance criteria. 2) To evaluate urban biotope using the evaluation system constructed, we selected 14 sites. The final evaluation results of each site is as follows; The first grade areas are the water space with semi-natural style in front of Gangchon Woobang apartments, the forest zone near Page Temple at Mt. Palgong, the edge area of Jisan and Gosan and the tendril yard against Anshim middle school. The second grade areas are Hyomyung elementary school, the farm land behind the third Anshim Jugong apartment, Ehyun put and the swampy land in front of the Kangchon and Anshim construction site. The third grade areas are Seohan and Hwasung high-rise apartments at Beummul-Dong, the Korea Manpower Agency in the Sungseo industrial zone, and the adjacent area of St. Tongil. The only fourth grade area is the commercial zone near Taegu Department Store. 3) It is highly useful to evaluate urban biotope using the evaluation criteria constructed for this research, the evaluation criteria we developed may be difficult to encompass all expert opinion and the period of space-formation is difficult to estimate urban biotopes. In the future, it is necessary to gather the basic data suitable to estimate biotope and it is necessary to develop detailed evaluation criteria applicable to estimate every biotope that has specific property.

Frequent urban floods affect the human safety and economic properties due to a lack of the capacity of drainage system and the increased frequency of torrential rainfall. The drainage system has played an important role in flooding control, so it is necessary to establish the effective countermeasures considering the connection between drainage system and surface flow. To consider the connection, we selected SWMM5 model for analyzing transportation capacity of drainage system and FLUMEN model for calculating inundation depth and time variation of inundation area. First, Thiessen method is used to delineate the sub-catchments effectively base on drainage network data in SWMM5. Then, the output data of SWMM5, hydrograph of each manhole, were used to simulate FLUMEN to obtain inundation depth and time variation of inundation area. The proposed method is applied to Sadang area for the event occurred in $27^{th}$ of July, 2011. A total of 11 manholes, we could check the overflow from the manholes during that event as a result of the SWMM5 simulation. After that, FLUMEN was utilized to simulate overland flow using the overflow discharge to calculate inundation depth and area on ground surface. The simulated results showed reasonable agreements with observed data. Through the simulations, we confirmed that the main reason of the inundation was the insufficient transportation capacities of drainage system. Therefore cooperation of both models can be used for not only estimating inundation damages in urban areas but also for providing the theoretical supports of the urban network reconstruction. As a future works, it is recommended to decide optimized pipe diameters for efficient urban inundation simulations.

Congestion is a growing concern of many global cities and the demands on Infrastructure services within a locale coupled by the rising expectations from the growing population places stress on these cities. This entails the ability to build a sustainable community that requires an understanding and recognition of Population growth, changing demographics and the ever changing urban development on both a macro and micro level. Infrastructure is an integral part of Australian economy, particularly the 'Infrastructure Assets Management' which highlights the importance towards the development of sustainable communities for Melbourne's future. Melbourne 2030 is a comprehensive representation of government's response to a wide-ranging population growth within Melbourne metropolitan and surrounding areas. Urban plan and specific Infrastructure Assets Planning needs not only to provide sufficient Infrastructure to a community, but it must also be efficient and innovative so that it produces an optimised management system. A system that incorporates engineering techniques that will be sustainable for decades to come by maintaining an acceptable level of services to its intended community in an effective manner, which also strengthens service delivery. The fundamental challenges for optimization of Infrastructure with the Melbourne urban plan is, the ability to manage and sustain maintenance of Infrastructure to provide the acceptable level of service required by the community in a most effective manner which also strengthens service delivery to contribute towards Melbourne 2030. This paper particularly investigates some of the fundamental issues within the Melbourne urban plan such as Infrastructure Asset Management, AusLink and the Australian Road Management Act 2004, which the Governments at all levels must deal with to provide an economically viable solution to the changing Infrastructure so it may suits the needs and services the strategies of a metropolis.

A number of cities have been constantly decreasing their residents by the low quality of life and environment. A creative industry is being noticed for not only securing the competitiveness of the city but also increasing the number of population. Thus, the urban structure for inducing creative industry population becomes to major issue to the most of local governments. This study aims to suggest the relationships between urban structure and creative industry population based on different urban sizes. To measure the population of creative industry, this study used the 'National Business Survey' by the National Statistical Office, which classified the statistical data of industrial places on a basis of city, district, and borough. Based on the results of expert questionnaire surveys, it conducted an analysis on the importance of urban structure and drew some critical factors that have an important effect on attracting the population of creative industry. The relationships between creative industry population and urban structure evaluated by multiple regression analysis. This study found out that the cultural factors like cultural space or culture events were drawn as very significant factors that have a positive effect on the population of creative industry population. It is judged that the creation of culture environment, which can enrich the creative industry, is needed to strengthen the competitiveness of the cities.

The Land Suitability Assessment is mandatory by National Land Planning and Utilization Act and the results are considered in the establishment of urban master plan and urban management plan. The study aims to examine whether the application of Land Suitability Assessment in developed urban areas is appropriate. A simulation analysis based on the Seoul's data of environmental ecological, physical, and spatial characteristics was conducted on urban green, the only applicable land for the assessment in Seoul. The results of the assessment shows that all pieces of lands in urban green is suitable for 'development'. This conflicts to the purpose of land use of urban green which needs to be conserved to protect the natural environment and landscape, animals and plants, environmental pollution, and urban sprawl. In the analysis applying optional indicators such as the distance from the area of Biotope Class 1 to prevent this conflict, the results shows little difference. This supports the necessity to review this regulation including an option to exclude developed urban areas such as Seoul in the assessment.

Efficient spatial planning is one of the necessary factors to successfully respond to climate change. And researchers often use LULC(Land-Use/Cover) data to conduct land use and spatial planning research. However, LULC data has a limited number of grades related to urban surface, so each different urban structure appearing in several cities is not easily analyzed with existing land cover products. This limitation of land cover data seems to be overcome through LCZ(Local Climate Zone) data used in the urban heat island field. Therefore, this study aims to first discuss whether LCZ data can be applied not only to urban heat island fields but also to other fields, and secondly, whether LCZ data still have problems with existing LULC data. Research methodology is largely divided into two categories. First, through literature review, studies in the fields of climate, land use, and urban spatial structure related to LCZ are synthesized to analyze what research LCZ data is currently being used, and how it can be applied and utilized in the fields of land use and urban spatial structure. Next, the GIS spatial analysis methodology is used to analyze whether LCZ still has several errors that are found in the LULC.

A residential space where a person lives in may change following the flow of time and it has evolved in various shapes through the development process of a city. In particular, after the 1900s when the modern urban planning was first applied in full-scale, the urban environment and residential environment have formed cities through systematic planning. Under the assumption that the level of satisfactory life for urban residents residing in such an urban environment would be influenced mutually with the residential environment and urban environment to carry out this study, and as for the methodology of this study, the questionnaire was implemented with the subject of residents in Seoul City and analysis was implemented for regression analysis through SPSS 20.0 program. The results of the study are shown as follows. First, the relationship of the residential environment and urban environment is classified for convenience, safety and pleasance to have the important implication, and the level of satisfaction for the residential environment is analyzed to show implications with influence on the level of satisfaction for settlement consciousness. Second, the relationship of influence of residential environment on the settlement consciousness with the characteristics of urban environment is statistically noticeable and the stability and pleasance would have the statistically noticeable influence on satisfactory residential environment and the convenience would not render noticeable influence. And, third, under the characteristics of urban environment, convenience does not have direct influence on the settlement consciousness and it is confirmed to influence on the settlement consciousness indirectly only through the satisfaction of variation in the residential environment.

Land-use/cover changes not only amplify or alleviate influence of climate changes but also they are representative factors to affect environmental change along with climate changes. Thus, the use of land-use/cover changes scenario, consistent climate change scenario is very important to evaluate reliable influences by climate change. The purpose for this study is to predict and analyze the future urban growth considering social and economic scenario from RCP scenario suggested by the 5th evaluation report of IPCC. This study sets land-use/cover changes scenario based on storyline from RCP 4.5 and 8.5 scenario. Urban growth rate for each scenario is calculated by urban area per person and GDP for the last 25 years and regression formula based on double logarithmic model. In addition, the urban demand is predicted by the future population and GDP suggested by the government. This predicted demand is spatially distributed by the urban growth probability map made by logistic regression. As a result, the accuracy of urban growth probability map is appeared to be 89.3~90.3% high and the prediction accuracy for RCP 4.5 showed higher value than that of RCP 8.5. Urban areas from 2020 to 2050 showed consistent growth while the rate of increasing urban areas for RCP 8.5 scenario showed higher value than that of RCP 4.5 scenario. Increase of urban areas is predicted by the fact that famlands are damaged. Especially RCP 8.5 scenario indicated more increase not only farmland but also forest than RCP 4.5 scenario. In addition, the decrease of farmland and forest showed higher level from metropolitan cities than province cities. The results of this study is believed to be used for basic data to clarify complex two-way effects quantitatively for future climate change, land-use/cover changes.

This research paper explores the process of developing skateboarding spaces in urban parks. Skateboarding is one of the most popular sport activities representative of urban parks. This research paper will analyze the process of introducing skateboarding activities into park spaces and their acceptance by the general public as well as derive meaningful general implications for park space development planning. The research method is a discourse analysis of newspaper articles regarding skateboarding issued between the 1960s and 2010s. These articles are the main resources to show the creation of a skateboarding culture, generation of skate park spaces, and the extinction of these spaces during the research period. The result of this research is as follows. There are reasons that allowed for the creation of skate park spaces in urban parks. First of all, positive associations that people have regarding skateboarding have influenced the park's users and operators' decisions that a park is proper space for skateboarding activities, and the agreement to remodel the park space. Secondly, skate parks became a space for multiple-uses that can be shared with other emerging sports, which resulted in a building boom of skateboarding spaces in urban parks. Thirdly, urban parks and their new culture of active sports became a marketing tool used by local governments to attract new inhabitants to their new towns. On the contrary, there are three main reasons for the deterioration of skate parks. First of all, within parks in which skateboarding activities collided with other park usage, the skate parks disappeared. Secondly, skate parks built specifically for competitive skateboarding events and without consideration of casual skaters disappeared, as these facilities were not sustainable for use in the long term. Thirdly, the golden age of skate park skateboarding did not last long, as skateboarding trends shifted from trick performance to street skating, where skate parks are no longer needed. For this reasons, the exclusive use of park space for skateboarding activities has faded from public interest. The findings of this research suggest how sport activities should be introduced to urban parks. At first, each park's management needs to identify a sport suitable for long-term development, and not only plan for temporal events or follow fleeting trends. Secondly, the park's management systems should reflect a type of sport activity that would not only be popular at the beginning of the spaces development, but also take into consideration how these activities will change over time. Lastly, in cases where there are conflicts between sport activities and other activities in urban parks, attempts should be made to suggest feasible solutions other than the liquidation of sport spaces. This study explains the development process of sport spaces offered in urban parks, by thorough research of the process of acceptance of skateboarding activities in current urban park systems. This conclusion also indicates further areas for research with the purpose of understanding general best practices in urban parks sport space planning.
