Currently, communication at sea is more difficult than communication at inland due to the movement of route signs by waves. This paper conducts research on relay transmission and reception techniques to extend coverage in uplink situations. The uplink maritime communication environment between inland base stations and buoys located a certain distance inland was viewed as two hops, and a beam generated according to the number of antennas was selected and a performance analysis was conducted considering the movement of buoys measured by sensors.

In this paper, we propose a joint power control strategy for both the uplink and downlink transmission by considering the energy requirements of the user equipments' uplink data transmissions in data and energy integrated communication networks (DEINs). In DEINs, the base station (BS) adopts the power splitting (PS) aided simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) technique in the downlink (DL) transmissions, while the user equipments (UEs) carry out their own uplink (UL) transmissions by exploiting the energy harvested during the BS's DL transmissions. In our DEIN model, there are M UEs served by the BS in order to fulfil both of their DL and UL transmissions. The orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) technique is adopted for supporting the simultaneous transmissions of multiple UEs. Furthermore, a transmission frame is divided into N time slots in the medium access control (MAC) layer. The mathematical model is established for maximizing the sum-throughput of the UEs' DL transmissions and for ensuring their fairness during a single transmission frame T, respectively. In order to achieve these goals, in each transmission frame T, we optimally allocate the BS's power for each subcarrier and the PS factor for each UE during a specific time slot. The original optimisation problems are transformed into convex forms, which can be perfectly solved by convex optimisation theories. Our numerical results compare the optimal results by conceiving the objective of maximising the sum-throughput and those by conceiving the objective of maximising the fair-throughput. Furthermore, our numerical results also reveal the inherent tradeoff between the DL and the UL transmissions.
Single carrier-frequency-division multiple access (SC-FDMA) has been adopted as the uplink transmission standard in fourth-generation cellular networks to facilitate power efficiency transmission in mobile stations. Because multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) is a promising technology employed to fully exploit the channel capacity in mobile radio networks, this study investigates the uplink transmission of MU-MIMO SC-FDMA systems with orthogonal space-frequency block codes (SFBCs). It is preferable to minimize the length of the cyclic prefix (CP). In this study, the chained turbo equalization technique with chained turbo estimation is employed in the designed receiver. Chained turbo estimation employs a short training sequence to improve the spectrum efficiency without compromising the estimation accuracy. In this paper, we propose a novel and spectrally efficient iterative joint-channel estimation, multiuser detection, and turbo equalization for an MU-MIMO SC-FDMA system without CP-insertion and with short TR. Some simulation examples are presented for the uplink scenario to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

This paper considers a scenario that more D2D users exist in the cell, they compete for cellular resources to increase their own data rates, which may cause transmission interference to cellular users (CU) and the unfairness of resource allocation. We design a resource allocation scheme for selfish D2D users assisted by cooperative relay technique which is used to further enhance the users' transmission rates, meanwhile guarantee the QoS requirement of the CUs. Two transmission modes are considered for D2D users: direct transmission mode and cooperative relay transmission mode, both of which reuses the cellular uplink frequency resources. To ensure the fairness of resource distribution, Nash bargaining theory is used to determine the transmission mode and solve the bandwidth allocation problem for D2D users choosing cooperative relay transmission mode, and coalition formation game theory is used to solve the uplink frequency sharing problem between D2D users and CUs through a new defined "Selfish order". Through theoretical analysis, we obtain the closed Nash bargaining solution under CUs' rate constraints, and prove the stability of the formatted coalition. Simulation results show that the proposed resource allocation approach achieves better performance on resource allocation fairness, with only little sacrifice on the system sum rates.

We treat device-to-device direct communication (D2D) by reusing cellular uplink resources in LTE-Advanced systems. Conventional schemes assume that D2D transmitter employs SC-FDMA scheme for the date transmission. In the conventional schemes, however, it is very difficult to reduce the interference between the users, D2D communication cannot be used when the interference caused by cellular uplink signal is high. In this paper, we propose D2D transmission scheme which employes MC-CDMA technology and D2D detection scheme which uses MMSE algorithm to reduce interference from the cellular uplink signal. Therefore, in the proposed scheme the D2D communication becomes possible even in the high interference scenario. Through simulation, we show that the proposed scheme has better BER performance than the conventional scheme.

We consider transmission beamforming techniques for frequency-division-duplex (FDD) wireless communication systems using adaptive arrays to improve the signal quality of the array transmission link. We develop a simple effective transmission beamforming technique based on an approximated frequency tranlsation (AFT) to derive the tranmsiion beamforming weights from the uplink channel vector. This technique exploits the invariance of the short-time averaged fast fading statistics to small frequency translations. A simple approximate relationship that relates the transmission channel vector to the reception channel vector is derived. We have developed its practical alternative in which the frequency translation of the channel vector is performed at the principal angle of arrival (AOA) of the u;link synthestic angular spectrum instead of the mean AOA. To analyze the performance of the proposed methods, we consider the power loss incurred by applying the estimated channel vector instead of the true downlink channel vector. The performance is analyzed as a function of the mean AOA, the angular spread, the number of elements, frequncy difference between the uplink and the downlink, and the angle distribution. Their performance is also compared with that of the direct weight reuse method and the AOA based methods.

A distributed uplink power control algorithm based on flocking model is proposed to improve the energy efficiency of mobiles station (MS) in cellular networks. As each bird in a flock matches its velocity with the average velocity of the adjacent birds, each MS in a cell matches its uplink rate with the average uplink rate of the co-channel MSs in adjacent cells by controlling its transmission power. Results show that the proposed algorithm effectively reduces the power consumption in the MS, while maintaining a low outage probability, which eventually improves the energy efficiency of the MS.

WiBro (Wireless Broadband Internet) system is going to be 9ot down to commercialization. The high portable internet system is able to be connected to the high-speed internet using 2.3 GHz frequency bandwidth, anytime and anywhere. An effective scheduling for UGS, rtPS, nrtPS and BE requiring different QoS, which are service types of the WiBro, is necessary to increase the efficiency of radio channels that are the limiting resource. This paper researches an uplink scheduling that plays a role in assignment for the radio channels from subscribers to base stations. The suggested scheduling provides priorities with each service type considering QoS of them but reserves some bandwidth for lower priory services. After deciding effective amount of bandwidth for reservation, we suggest analytical result on mean delayed time of packet transmission for each terminal, transmission rate for the data, and capacity for uplink. This research can be used as basic data for the standard in the high portable internet system and as data to predict the capacity of base stations.

LTE-A (long term evolution advanced) uplink selected SC-FDMA (single carrier frequency division multiple access) to maintain low PAPR for a low price and tiny terminal. Recently, the application of codebook-based preceding to LIE-A uplink is discussed. This paper shows that PAPR can be increased when various preceding schems are applied to the SC-FDMA as an LTE-A uplink. When, considering nonlinear power amplifier model to the transmitter, BER performances of preceded schemes degrade. But equal gain transmission scheme does show very low PAPR. So the link-level performance of EGT is superior to those of any other preceding schemes. Computer simulations also confirm the anticipated link-level performances.
