Individuals majoring in Library and Information Science (LIS) typically find employment in the library sector, such as working as librarians, university librarians, and in public libraries. Recent advancements in information technology and shifts in work outlooks have broadened the professional opportunities for students majoring in LIS in several sectors. Research on career exploration varies based on the university major or occupation. This paper suggests a methodology for conducting surveys and analyzing data efficiently to support ongoing career exploration for students majoring in LIS. It also examines the findings of a career exploration survey conducted among LIS majors. The survey findings indicate that individuals majoring in LIS are adapting their salary expectations and priorities in alignment with societal shifts, showing a preference for diverse career opportunities outside traditional librarian roles. Effective support and ongoing research are essential for the career development of LIS majors in this environment.

It needs to put into practice the systems analysis in the analysis of some operations and status of library for the purpose of systematizing the work of reforming in the new easier form to process, to storage, to retrieve and to make use of the increasing informations and data of library. In this study, some of systems which are generally using in every library was caught in the case study of K university library. Having analyzed them with the two methods of the flowcharting and mathematical analysis, we found the obstructive factors in operation. As the result of this research, it was gained the new system as the alternative one. A. Alternative System B. Advantages of alternative systems 1. In the reference room When it converts the present system into the new system, it can profit 6.771 won/user (13.815won-7.044won=6.771 won). Therefore, a half the average required cost of the present system can be saved. If this saving would be alloted for the cost 33,000won required to make the cataloging cards, it would be taken for 94 days (33,000 won ${\div}$ 6,771 won/user=4,874users. 4,874users ${\div}$ 52users/day=94days) to get it. The saving cost/year by the new system will be 95,417 won, and in the first year the initial cost (33,000won) reduces the saving cost to 62,417won. 2. In the periodical room The average required time for using the materials of the present system is 17 minutes/user and the average required cost/user is 23.775won, while the average required time of the new system is 4 minutes and the average required cost/user is 5.33won. Therefore, the new system has profit 4 times of the present system. Accordingly, it occurs when the dispersed periodical materials get together. 3. In the classification and cataloging When one processes - the oriental books - by the Linear Programming Technique, the maximum of the process can be increased from 11.6 volumes per librarian of the present system to 12 volumes per librarian of the new system increased 0.4 volume in a day, and cataloging by the manual printer can be shorten from 3 minutes per card of the present system to 1.5 minutes per card of the new system. Consequently, we can complete the other operations (books equipment, updating of cataloging cards, etc.) with 141 minutes which are saved in the course of the afore-mentioned works. 4. In the status of collections The average growth rate of 4 years from 1968 to 1971 is 9.825 %, and that of the purchased materials is 6.2% similar to the advanced nations, but it has the different position from 215,000 volumes by the Standard Degree for Establishment of College and University, and the difference between the total collections 151,671 volumes and Dunns' growth model ($N_t=N_oe^{-at}$) claimed by Leimkuhler 155,297 volumes in 1971 is 3,626 volumes, and for the purpose of compensation the difference, we found the fact that it needs to have the increased budget of 24~30% per year, Thus, if the budget of 24~30 % per year. Thus, if the budget would be increased per year as the rate of the afore-mentioned figure, it would be reached at the Standard Degree for Establishment of College and University in 1975, and thereafter, it can be decreased to the lebel which is able to maintain the growth rate of 5~6% per year.

Information technology. computers, networks, and the World Wide Web are ubiquitous. Academic libraries have applied information technology over the last ten years. The traditional role of the library as the scholarly information heart of the university is being questioned as information technology makes Information ever more easily accessible. And the recent technological development may alter the fundamental concept or identity of the academic library in the twenty-first century. This paper examines the ways in which information technology have chanced the academic library over the last decades and deals with the logical interrelation of 'information technology' and 'management' in the context of academic libraries in Korea. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the impacts of information technology on academic library management (organizational structure. librarian's job and role. budget allocation and expenditures, space planning and functionality, collection paradigm, user service, academic entity, etc) and suggests a desirable acceptance attitudes and efficient management acceptance attitude and management.

This study aimed to analyze the issues on practical training programs at public libraries and propose alternative strategies for them. This study discusses the theoretical bases of providing practical training programs with the recent change in curriculums of library and information studies. It also explores the current status of both practical training program courses offered by the departments of library and information science in Korea, and the operation of programs managed by 42 public libraries. This study categorizes the programs into three types, including basic task type, participatory type, and proactive type, and examines the characteristics of each type. Furthermore, it researches a case of the cooperative public library practice program, which S public library and C University jointly conduct, and analyzes students and librarians' needs who participated in the program. As a result, the study identifies all the parties' challenges and provide a gradual development strategies for the program.

Dr. S. R. Ranganathan's Five Laws of Library Science were published in 1931 which is a classic work. This article describes in detail the Five Laws of Library Science and their implications on library activities. These laws have provided a scientific approach to library science. They constitute the philosophical basis for work and services of all types of libraries. These also provide guidance in the practice of Library and Information Science. He author emphasises that these will provide source of inspiration and guidance in the years to come. Every student and teacher of library Science and librarian must give a thought to the implications of these laws. In the changing environment of libraries in the emerging society has to fall with in the purview of these laws. The imperatives motivated by these five laws at the time of Ranganathan and in the present days have been identified. The new interpretations of the five laws with the various current nomenclature of Library and Information Science and other allied subjects have been enumerated. These new interpretations of these Laws shows that in today's international world of librarianship, Ranganathan's Five laws are much important and relevant what was before and even it is increasing. These Laws became the cornerstones of the philosophy of the techniques of Western society's library experts. The author concludes that the vision and legacy of Ranganathan will continue to be an inspiration and guiding spirit for the emergence of the new library and information profession. These will serve as source of inspiration and guidance in the years to come. It is not whether Ranganathan is by himself relevant to-day, but it is we who can make him relevant by studying and applying his principles and practices in different areas of library management.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the casual relationships of the service qualify, the satisfaction of the users, and the loyalty of the users on the academic libraries. The study develops a model and a hypothesis based on the previous researches, and testifies through multiple regressions and path analysis using questionnaires from 266 academic library users(undergraduate students and graduate students) in the C University. The result of this study is summarized as the following: the service qualifies of e-service, contents, and librarians significantly influences the satisfaction of the users-undergraduate students on the qualifies of library space/environment and contents, and graduate students on the qualities of e-service and librarian. The satisfaction of the users and the quality of e-service are the variables that influence the loyalty of the users. The quality of e-service is an important variable that influence both the satisfaction and the loyalty of the users in academic libraries.

This study evaluated the fiction collection of Korean public libraries by applying use factor and suggested various measures to enhance collection development function. As a result, while the collection building and borrowing ratios of Korean literature in literature collection by language were the highest at 62.6% and 54.3% respectively, the use factor was lower than the base value(1.00). And while the collection building and borrowing ratios of Korean contemporary fiction by item category were the highest at 65.60% and 51.36% respectively, the use factor was lower than the base value and the use factor by year is decreasing in recent years. The reason is because of poor collection development. Therefore, public library need to consider active alternatives such as establishment of the collection development policy and fiction collection development guideline, composition of the fiction material selection committee, adaption of the dedicated librarian system for fiction material development, development and utilization of a selection tool for fiction materials, and periodic evaluation of fiction collection.

Inspired by the practice-oriented curriculum in LIS, many colleges have developed Internship program. Researches of internee's attitude or opinion of internship program, which affect students' learning and their cognitive impact, have not been studied. This study measured internee's cognition of internship by surveying thirty-four librarians who had experience of internship instructor in libraries and information centers. The Researcher found several practical problems as well as some implications which can be applied in a meaningful way among LIS professionals.

The research aims to develop a training program for prospective librarians in order to help them better prepared for library practicum. To achieve the purpose of the research, the research analyzes pre-librarians' expectation and needs of the pre-training program and designs a mock pre-training program for practicing library practicum effectively and efficiently. After running the mock pre-training program to library practicum participants in the department of Library and Information Science at H University, their satisfaction and feedback of the mock program are also assessed. On the basis of the findings from implementing the mock pre-training program, the research proposes the final contents of a pre-training program for preparing library practicum and the detailed methods for implementing the proposed pre-training program.

The Purpose of this study is to explore and analyse ways of enhancing the effectiveness of reference service through reference evaluation. Marketing research technique combined with pre-evaluation theory was applied in this study to find out information for practice the service based on current concept of reference service. Aims and results of this study can be summarised as follows: First, the evaluation of effectiveness of reference service should be conducted for the purpose of finding out the ways of increasing user's satisfaction. Second, the policy evaluation was understood as the appropriated evaluation concept. The policy evaluation in principle coincides with reference service in sense that the satisfaction of public should have priority and hence be the criterion of the evaluation. Third, marketing research based on recently developed 'marketing concept', which concentrates all its efforts to meet user's demand and attempt to acquire the information for better marketing management of non-profit organization such as library, is examined to find out the evaluation method practically applicable to the pre-evaluation of reference service. In this study , conjoint analysis was adopted as the method of pre-evaluation about reference service. The Reference Room of the Central Library Yonsei University, was selected as the arget sample to find out the expected condition for the maximization of the user's satisfaction from the reference service. Based on this example study, the analysis indicates as the most desirable combination for reference service in terms of the user's satisfaction is following condition: the younger librarian with aimable personality who displays willingness In his/her assistance, plus as the method of reference service, sufficient and practical introduction to the reference materials available, plus immediate and satisfactory result of the service, and finally a library equipped with inter-library use system.
