This study puts focus on the optimization of growth temperature of CIGS absorber layer which affects severely the performance of solar cells. The CIGS absorber layers were prepared by three-stage co-evaporation of metal elements in the order of In-Ga-Se. The effect of the growth temperature of 1st stage was found not to be so important, and 350$^{\circ}C$ to be the lowest optimum temperature. In the case of growth temperature at 2nd/3rd stage, the optimum temperature was revealed to be 550$^{\circ}C$. The XRD results of CIGS films showed a strong (112) preferred orientation and the Raman spectra of CIGS films showed only the Al mode peak at 173cm$\^$-1/. Scanning electron microscopy results revealed very small grains at 2nd/3rd stage growth temperature of 480$^{\circ}C$. At higher temperatures, the grain size increased together with a reduction in the number of the voids. The optimization of experimental parameters above mentioned, through the repeated fabrication and characterization of unit layers and devices, led to the highest conversion efficiency of 15.4% from CIGS-based thin film solar cell with a structure of Al/ZnO/CdS/CIGS/Mo/glass.
$SrGd_{2-x}(MoO_4)_4:Er^{3+}/Yb^3$ phosphors with doping concentrations of $Er^{3+}$+ and $Yb^{3+}$ ($x=Er^{3+}+Yb^{3+}$, $Er^{3+}=0.05$, 0.1, 0.2, and $Yb^{3+}=0.2$, 0.45) were successfully synthesized by the cyclic microwave-modified sol-gel method, and their upconversion mechanism and spectroscopic properties have been investigated in detail. Well-crystallized particles showed a fine and homogeneous morphology with grain sizes of $2-5{\mu}m$. Under excitation at 980 nm, $SrGd_{1.7}(MoO_4)_4:Er_{0.1}Yb_{0.2}$ and $SrGd_{1.5}(MoO_4)_4:Er_{0.05}Yb_{0.45}$ particles exhibited a strong 525-nm emission band, a weak 550-nm emission band in the green region, and a very weak 655-nm emission band in the red region. The Raman spectra of the doped particles indicated the domination of strong peaks at higher frequencies of 1023, 1092, and $1325cm^{-1}$ and at lower frequencies of 223, 2932, 365, 428, 538, and $594cm^{-1}$ induced by the incorporation of the $Er^{3+}$+ and $Yb^{3+}$+ elements into the $Gd^{3+}$ site in the crystal lattice, which resulted in the unit cell shrinkage accompanying a new phase formation of the $[MoO_4]^{2-}$ groups.
The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the compositional elements of plan of art museums by selecting architectural works, which have strong symbolic meaning when evaluating value, from architectural works by Louis Kahn. First, the centrality of artworks, which are being displayed at the Yale Art Gallery, is complex. It includes three patterns of Void (spatial) Centrality+Symbolic Centrality+Functional Centrality among the five patterns suggested in this study. Second, the ratio system of interior space, which is expressed in the extension of the Yale Art Gallery, can be classified into the floor and walls. The floor used the square 1:1 ratio system. The ceiling used the grid patterns of equilateral triangles (regular tetrahedrons). It was applying a geometric ratio system when creating forms by using one side as a beam and the other sides as decorations of the ceiling. Third, the contours of interior space, which were expressed in Kahn's works, used the method of forming separate space according to the contouring rule (structural unit) defined by columns, and they were used in constructing the entire space through the integration of separate spaces. Fourth, according to the characteristics that were expressed by artworks displayed within the Yale Art Gallery Extension, the concept of accessibility was not as clear as that of residential buildings, because an approach of respecting existing architecture and context was used, rather than the starting point of interior space, or differentiated circulation, which has the function of a determined position.

Since a SGML document is composed of elements, the primitive unit of information, SGML information retrieval should support retrieval on element as well as document. In addition, SGML index organization should support the partial insertion and deletion of document for the dynamic environment. For this, we propose a SGML index organization suited to structured-based retrieval for dynamic environment. Based on the proposed index organization, we design a SGML index manager to support content-based and structure-based retrieval efficiently. We implement the SGML index manager based on O2 storage system and compare the performance of our SGML index manager with the conventional SGML index manager. According to the performance comparison, it is shown that the proposed index structure achieves better retrieval performance than the conventional K-ary complete tree.
Paleosol layers lying on top of the terrace in Jeongdongjin area appear to have been deposited under generally well-drained condition with periodic waterlogging. From a 4.5m-long profile observed, a total of 6 stratigraphic units were identified. Grain-size analysis indicates the dominance of silty and clay materials with some portions with high sand content. Major mineralogical elements are quartz, feldspar, mica and chlorite. Geo-chemical composition shows little change throughout the stratigraphy with some fluctuation in chemical weathering index. Marked increase in magnetic susceptibility is recognizable where stratigraphic unit changes. Soil- wedge layer is developed around 50cm below the surface with concentration of grains of AT tephra (c. 25,000 BP). An OSL date of c. 110,000 BP was obtained from a sand layer lying below the paleosol.

There is limitation to represent forms and internal process of topography if using simple symbols for geomorphic landscape in the cartography. One of the alternative method to find a solution to these problems is to use association symbol to imagine real landscapes through map reading. This study suggested making method of association symbols to describe geomorphic landscapes effectively. Landforms are not static objects but dynamic pedogenesis and morphogenesis one. It should be consider form, process, and material to make landform mapping, and also, make landform symbols by considering scalable changeability for point-polygon, line-polygon, point-line by scale. As a results, this study expected to help applications for geomorphology as well as environments, ecology, archaeology, and civil engineering etc.
This study aims to analyze and compare Korean mathematics textbooks on time and to induce its educational implications. Concretely, the mathematics textbooks from the 1st to the 2009 national revised curriculum were selected for the longitudinal analysis. In each textbook, the contents such as clock reading, units of time, and calculation of elapsed time among various contents about time were chosen. The learning elements and their teaching sequence, the teaching method (the introducing ways of each concept and principle), and the didactical representations are set as an analysis framework. The results of analysis revealed many characteristics and differences in ways of dealing contents about time. Based on these results, we suggested several implications for writing the unit of time in elementary mathematics textbooks and teaching about time in classrooms.

Purpose: In terms of the flexibility in hospital architecture, there are fixed elements of hospital architecture: mechanical, electrical, aeration rooms and shafts, which are the main utility spaces. Thus, it is necessary to recognize the utility space as a system that helps internal functions and flexible internal changes. This study analyzes the notion of the main utility space in hospital architecture and the architectural planning features of the main utility spaces as the system in the design process of the recently built hospitals. Methods: The design factors are extracted comparing two hospitals' plans in each stage and the systematic characteristics of utility spaces are analyzed accordingly. The opinions gathered from interviews of practitioners, architects and facility planning experts directly involved in the architecture design process are analyzed and reflected in the results. Results: Planning for utility spaces should be accompanied by the architectural plan from the basic design process, and proceeded with recognizing utility spaces as a system, which is a fixed element. Utility spaces are highly organically connected. Horizontal and vertical distribution of air chambers can reduce the length and number of ducts, and thus save story height, and reduce the number of shafts, the vertical connection passage. This is advantageous in securing the variable area, which is the ultimate objective of the system-centered hospital architecture plan. Implications: Thereby aims to provide fundamental data on systematic utility space planning in the hospital architecture planning.
Under the hostile influence of the extreme space environmental conditions due to the deep space and direct solar flux, the thermal control in space applications is especially of major importance. There are tight temperature range restrictions for electro-optical elements while on the other hand there are low power consumption requirements due to the limited energy sources on the spacecraft. So, we usually have strong requirement of thermal and power control module in space applications. In this paper, the design concept of a thermal and power control module in the MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) system which will be a payload on KOMPSATII is described in terms of H/W & S/W. This thermal and power control module, called THTM(Thermal and Telemetry Module) in MSC, resides inside the PMU(Payload Management Unit) which is responsible for the proper management of the MSC payload for controlling and monitoring the temperature insides the EOS(Electro-Optic System) and gathering all the analog telemetry from all the MSC sub-units, etc. Particularly, the designed heater controller has the special mode of "duty cycle" in addition to normal closed loop control mode as usual. THTM controls heaters in open loop according to on/off set time designed through analysis in duty cycle mode in case of all thermistor failure whereas it controls heaters by comparing the thermistor value to temperature based on closed loop in normal mode. And a designed THTM provides a checking and protection method against the failure in thermal control command using the test pulse in command itself.
