In this article, we study the historical development of how the main concepts of linear algebra - matrices, vectors, and transformations - arise, are connected then integrated into a category. Also we study how linearity is recognized and integrated into algebraic and geometric viewpoint. Furthermore, we discuss, based on this, the role of linear algebra as a unifying concept in a school mathematics.

In the present paper, various solutions for generalized canonical correlation analysis (GCCA) are considered depending on the criteria and constraints. For the comparisons of some characteristics of the solutions, we provide with certain unifying stationary equations which might to also useful to obtain various generalized canonical correlation analysis solutions. In addition, we suggest an approach for the generalized canonical correlation analysis by exploiting the concept of maximum eccentricity originally de-signed to test the internal independence structure. The solutions, including new one, are compared through unifying stationary equations and by using some numerical illustrations. A type of iterative procedure for the GCCA solutions is suggested and some numerical examples are provided to illustrate several GCCA methods.

The present article deals with the concept 'ekayāna' as the spirit of the times in the period of Unifying War in Shilla, which is embodied in the thought of Wonhyo and Euisang. This article is divided into five sections. Section I introduces the background of research history regarding the spirit of the age during the Unifying War, and explaines the reason why we adopted two thinkers such as Wonhyo and Euisang, especially the concept 'ekayāna' of the two as a subject for inquiry. Section II discusses on the hermeneutical difference between the Chinese Faxiang sect and Wonhyo regarding the interpretation of one passage from Saṃdhinirmocana-Sūtra, in which the relation between ekayāna and triyāna is explained. It is noteworthy that Faxiang sect places emphasis on the differentiation of triyāna, but Wonhyo gives emphasis to equality of ekayāna. Section III refers to the hermeneutical horizons of Wonhyo which is connoted in the interpretation of Saṃdhinirmocana-Sūtra, especially focusing on the concept 'ekayāna'. Here we can make a conclusion as follows; Firstly, the 'ekayāna' in Wonhyo is immanent in 'triyāna' and at the same time transcendental from 'triyāna', so to speak 'com-transcendetal' with 'triyāna'. Secondly, there is inseparable and unmixable relation between 'ekayāna' and beings. In another words, 'ekayāna' is śūnyatā. Thirdly, 'ekayāna' is a kind of universal truth(普法 pŭ fă) in that it offers the benefit to open and develop the immanent buddhadhātu of all living lives. In addition to Wonhyo's thought on ekayāna, section IV refers to the concept 'ekayāna' of Euisang. On Euisang, 'ekayāna' is 'the perfect teaching(圓敎 yuán jiào)' and 'pratītyasamutpāda'. From this point of view, we can conclude that the thought on ekayāna between the two, Wonhyo and Euisang is not different, and completely coherent. As a result, as it is concluded in section V, it is also clear that ekayāna has 'com-transcendental' relation to triyāna. Therefore we can safely make a conclusion that the spirit of the times in the period of Unifying War in Shilla among the leading thinkers is the vision for 'com-transcendency'.

Caring is being rediscovered as a central and unifying concept of the nursing. Traditionally, nursing profession has emphasized spirit and activities of caring. But there is little efforts to study the caring phenomena scientifically and systematically in nursing, and then the concept of caring is still remained unclear and ambiguous. Changes of social, and health care environment are threatening the philosophy and practice of caring, so it is urgent to identify caring more scientifically and to rediscover the nature of nursing discipline. Knowledge of the caring is essential component for the development of nursing as a science and a profession. The first thing to study a concept is thought to be the analysis of the concept. So in this study, concept analysis of caring was performed to clarify the concept of caring as a basis for the study of caring afterward. The approach used for the concept analysis of caring was the approach presented by Walker and Avant. The defining(or critical) attributes of caring identified in this study were (1) a series of activities for helping others, (2) concern and devotion. (3) interpersonal relationship, and (4) scientific and systematic process. The identified antecedents of caring were (1) awareness of other's needs for help, and (2) moral and cognitive motivation for helping others. The identified consequences of caring were (1) healing, (2) satisfaction, and (3) growth. And the consequences of caring were revealed to both of the care giver and the care receiver. The empirical referents of caring could be the behaviors of interpersonal relationship through scientific and systematic process with concern and devotion for others.

A pseudoreceptor combines structure-based and ligand-based techniques to represent a unifying concept for both receptor mapping and ligand matching. In this molecular modeling approach, there are opportunities to construct the pseudoreceptor models using a set of small molecules. To build a reliable pseudoreceptor model, we need a set of ligand molecules with known affinity (biological activity) to generate 3D bioactive conformation for each of these ligand molecules. Several software packages are available to generate a pseudoreceptor model and this can provide an entry point for structure based drug discovery in cases where receptor structure information is not available. In this review, we presented the concept of pseudoreceptor, as well as discussed about various software packages available to generate a pseudoreceptor model.

Power-Armendariz is a unifying concept of Armendariz and commutative. Let R be a ring and I be a proper ideal of R such that R/I is a power-Armendariz ring. Han et al. proved that if I is a reduced ring without identity then R is power-Armendariz. We find another direct proof of this result to see the concrete forms of various kinds of subsets appearing in the process.

In this paper, we consider interval probability as a unifying concept for uncertainty and Choquet integrals with resect to a capacity functional. By using interval probability, we will define an interval-valued capacity functional and Choquet integrals with respect to an interval-valued capacity functional. Furthermore, we investigate Choquet Choquet weak convergence of interval-valued capacity functionals of random sets.

Concept analysis is a strategy that examines the attributes or characteristics of a concept. It is a formal linguistic exercise to determine those defining attributes. The basic purpose of concept analysis is to clarify ambiguous concepts in theory, and to propose a precise operational definition which reflects the theoretical base of the concept. The concept of maternal role is too broad and variable in expression, therefore there has been no authentic definition nor standard opinion for this concept. The purpose of this study is to clarify the concept of maternal role which in turn will help in the development of a theory of maternal role attainment. In order to analyze the concept of maternal role, much effort was extended to look up "maternal role" in various dictionaries and literature, but only a few cases were found which listed this terminology. Consultation on the meaning of "mother" and "role" separately was then done and consequently a definition of "maternal role" was obtained through concept analysis of these two words independently, finding their attributes and unifying them. The attributes of the concept of maternal role which was analyzed based on the steps of concept analysis by Walker & Avant (1988) are : 1) Women who have pregnancies 2) Women who have a child 3) Women who rear a child 4) Expected behavior according to social status 5) Learning through social cultures 6) Social interrelationships. The antecedents of the maternal role are : 1) women who are pregnant and deliver a baby, must keep in contact with their child. 2) Circumstances for childrearing must be provided. 3) Formation of self-concept as mother should be developed, cognitive activity, which is necessary for the nurturing activity, financial support and preparation of childrearing should be provided. And the consequences of the maternal role are : 1) Improvement 2) Changeability 3) Ambiguity 4) Stability Through this concept analysis, the concept of the maternal role is defined as "expected behavior by social interrelationships and learned nurturing behavior through social cultures."

We study the structure of the set of nilpotent elements in various kinds of ring and introduce the concept of NR ring as a generalization of Armendariz rings and NI rings. We determine the precise relationships between NR rings and related ring-theoretic conditions. The Kothe's conjecture is true for the class of NR rings. We examined whether several kinds of extensions preserve the NR condition. The classical right quotient ring of an NR ring is also studied under some conditions on the subset of nilpotent elements.

본 연구에서는 이러한 점에도 역점을 두어서 초기 피로균열의 발생.거동을 관 찰하기 쉬운 연강을 선택하여 편진인장반복하중을 작용시켜, 연강 평골재의 표면상에 발생.성장하는 미소표면균열의 거동을 전자현미경과 광학현미경을 병용하여 표면과 파 단면을 입체적으로 조사하여, 피로균열의 초기발생상태를 조사하고, 그 성장율을 조사 하여 파괴역학적으로 해석하여 그 특성을 조사한다.
