Undergraduate Students' Image of the Elderly based on Knowledge and Attitudes

  • The purposes of the study were to examine the trend of undergraduate students' knowledges and attitudes toward elderly and aging traits, and to present the influence of undergraduate students' attitudes. The subjects were 494 undergraduate students. Statistics used such as frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, t-test, Duncan test, ANOVA and Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of this study were as follow: 1) Undergraduate students' knowledge level toward the elderly was low, and undergraduate students' attitudes level was middle. 2) There were meaningful differences in attitudes level according to sex, living together with elderly (the present time), living together with elderly (the past time), the presence of grandfather. It also had a significant correlation to the undergraduate students' knowledge. 3) The variables which affected the undergraduate students' attitudes were knowledge, sex, present co-residency with grandparents, past co-residency with grandparents, the presence grandfather, period of co-residency with grandparents that were explained about $24\%$. Among variables, knowledge of elderly was a very important variable on undergraduate students' attitudes.

대학생들의 창의성에 대한 인식 - 창의성에 대한 암묵적 접근을 중심으로 - (An Investigation of the Creativity as Perceived by Undergraduate Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the implicit knowledge of creativity and education practice of creativity perceived by undergraduate students. Participants were 425 undergraduate students from around the greater metropolitan area of Seoul. The results of this study were as follows: (1) Most undergraduate students considered creativity as creative thinking or creative product rather than creative personality and creative environment. Undergraduate students placed originality as the most important subfactor of creativity. Scientists were ranked as the most creative people, followed by executives, and then artists. Interestingly contemporary Korean undergraduate students recognized and evaluated creativity as positive. (2) Most undergraduate students recognized the needs and importance of creativity-fostered education. These aspects of education have meaningful differences according to gender, as female students viewed creativity-fostered education more important. (3) Undergraduate students considered creative persons to be imaginative, independent, and confident. The most important part of developing undergraduate students' creativity was to make more creative environments. It has been suggested that the benefit of creative environments should be taken into consideration when developing creativity-enhancing programs and education for undergraduate students more generally.

Awareness as Correlate of Undergraduate Students' Utilisation of Library Software in Universities in South-West, Nigeria

  • This study investigated the awareness and utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in universities in South-west Nigeria. The descriptive research design of the ex post facto was adopted using a sample of 1,527 selected from the total population of 239,048 undergraduate students in the universities. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The finding of the study revealed that the extent of utilisation of library software by undergraduate students was high. Also, the majority of undergraduate students utilised library software in the university libraries between two to three times a week. Similarly, the findings show that awareness had an influence on the utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in the universities (r = 0.563, N = 1333, P < 0.05). The study concluded that awareness influenced the utilisation of library software by undergraduate students in universities. The study, therefore, recommends that the importance of the awareness of library software should be emphasized in the library to enhance its utilisation by the students in the university libraries.

여대생의 월경특성, 스트레스, 불안 및 생활습관자세가 월경통에 미치는 영향 (Factors affecting Dysmenorrhea in Undergraduate Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate dysmenorrhea in undergraduate students and its affecting factors. Method: The survey was conducted with 453 students at 4 nursing school in Seoul, Incheon, Chungcheongbuk and Jeollabuk Province. Data were collected from September to December 2013, and analyzed with SPSS Windows 21.0. Results: In a final model of hierarchial multiple regression, menarcheal age (${\beta}$=-0.13, p=.003), menstrual amount (${\beta}$=0.17, p=.001), stress (${\beta}$=0.18, p=.010) habit of sitting by crossing one's legs (${\beta}$=0.14, p=.003) were associated with dysmenorrhea in undergraduate students. These factors attributed to 12.0% of variance in the dysmenorrhea of undergraduate students. Conclusion: These results suggest that dysmenorrhea in undergraduate student could be influenced by habit of sitting by crossing one's legs as well as menstrual history and stress. Ultimately, intervention program including correct of cross-legged sitting postures can be effective for undergraduate students to alleviate dysmenorrhea.

노인관련 창업에 관심있는 대학생들의 노인인식 (Perception About the Elderly Among Undergraduate Students Interested in the Elderly Care Business)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the perception about the elderly among undergraduate students interested in the elderly care business. Method: In this descriptive research, a total of 183 undergraduate students were participated. The instrument was consisted of a 18-item semantic differential scale developed by Sanders et al (1984). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficients by SPSS 18.0. Result: Undergraduate students' perception about the elderly was slightly positive($2.98{\pm}1.51$). The significant factors associated with the perception about the elderly were gender, age, present residing state with the elderly, experience of residing with the elderly at the past. Male students' perception about the elderly was more positive than female. Among 18 items, 'wise' and 'knowledgeable' was highly related to the perception about the elderly(r=.671, p=.001). Conclusion: These findings indicate that the items of optimistic, attractive, flexible and good were the impressive perceptions about the elderly for the undergraduate students. The result of this study can be utilized to promote perception about the elderly among undergraduate students.

대학생의 낙관성, 감성지능이 우울에 미치는 영향 (The influencing factors of Optimism and Emotional Intelligence on Depression among undergraduate students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생의 낙관성, 감성지능 및 우울정도를 확인하고, 우울에 관련된 요인을 파악하고자 시도되었으며 서술적 조사연구로 설계되었다. 자료수집은 D시와 S시의 2개의 대학교에서 2016년 4월 8일에서 30일까지 수집되었고, 연구참여에 동의한 166명의 대학생들이 참여하였으며, 참여자들은 자가설문지를 통해 낙관성, 감성지능 및 우울정도를 작성하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 22 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도와 백분율, Pearson 상관계수, 다중회귀분석을 시행하였다. 본 연구 결과, 대학생의 낙관성 평균점수는 $3.67{\pm}0.51$, 그 중 간호대학생의 낙관성 평균점수는 $3.66{\pm}0.49$, 일반대학생의 낙관성 평균점수는 $3.69{\pm}0.55$, 대학생의 감성지능 평균 점수는 $3.56{\pm}0.49$, 그 중 간호대학생의 감성지능 평균점수는 $3.53{\pm}0.49$, 일반 대학생의 감성지능 평균점수는 $3.60{\pm}0.51$, 대학생의 우울 평균점수는 $8.28{\pm}7.48$, 그 중 간호대학생의 우울 평균점수는 $10.97{\pm}7.65$, 일반대학생의 우울 평균점수는 $5.50{\pm}5.54$로 나타났다. 한편, 본 연구의 대학생의 낙관성과 감성지능은 우울과 강한 음의 상관관계를 나타냈으며, 강한 상관관계 정도는 간호대학생이 일반대학생보다 더 높게 나타났다. 또한 낙관성과 감성지능은 우울에 영향력 있는 변수로 나타났으며, 영향력을 행사하는 정도도 간호대학생이 일반대학생보다 더 높게 나타났다. 결론적으로, 대학생은 물론 간호대학생의 우울을 관리하기 위해서는 낙관성과 감성지능을 증진시키는 프로그램이 요구됨을 확인할 수 있다.

학부-대학원 연계 지역문제해결형 수업설계 경험에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Experience of Designing Community Problem Solving Education based on the Undergraduate-Graduate Class Linkage)

  • This article aims to analyze the experience of designing and operating a class model linking undergraduate and graduate students in engineering education and suggest its development direction. To achieve these objectives, the undergraduate-graduate linked class model was applied to community problem-solving education and a case was analyzed. It also specifically presented the process of how we design the class model and what the actual operational performances and improvements are. This study found that undergraduate and graduate students could build integrated and horizontal cooperative relationships in their classes through undergraduate-graduate linked education and, particularly, graduate students could gain meaningful educational experiences. However, it was difficult to obtain tangible performances through the team activities of these students within a semester. In order for engineering colleges to operate undergraduate-graduate linked education, it would be necessary to provide a longer and more systematic educational environment and better curriculum. The study tried to seek specific tasks and ways to improve them.

일개 대학생의 흡연행태에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Smoking Behavior among Undergraduate Students)

  • Purpose: This study aims to investigate the factors affecting smoking behavior in undergraduate students. Methods: The participants were 240 undergraduate students. A descriptive survey design was used. Data were collected from March to April 2022 and were analyzed using binominal logistic regression. Results: The result showed that smoking had a significant correlation with depression, life stress, and smoking-related self-efficacy. The factors affecting the smoking behavior were sex, department, depression, life stress, and smoking-related self-efficacy. The factors explained 72.9% of undergraduate students' smoking behavior. Conclusion: The development and application of prevention education to reduce depression and stress and improve smoking-related self-efficacy may be a strategy for a good prognosis for undergraduate students.

대학생의 이메일 관리 행태 연구 (A Study on the Email Management of Undergraduate Students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생의 이메일 기록관리 행태와 대학 이메일 정책에 관한 인식을 파악한 것이다. 이를 위해 국내 대학에 재학 중인 대학생 317명을 대상으로 이메일 기록관리의 필수요소인 이메일 공통사항, 작성, 관리, 보존, 인식, 총 5가지 항목으로 구성된 설문조사를 실시하였다. 또한 대학의 이메일 서비스 제공 방법에 따라 구글을 이용하는 대학, 마이크로소프트를 이용하는 대학, 자체 웹메일을 이용하는 대학, 총 3가지 유형으로 나눠 6명을 심층 면담하였다. 조사 결과 대학생은 이메일을 주소록, 클라우드 스토리지, 파일 저장, 협업 도구로 사용하고 있었고 기록생애주기에 따라 이메일을 체계적으로 관리하는 데에는 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 또한 모바일 서비스 및 첨부파일 보존에 한계가 있는 대학 자체 웹메일보다 부가기능의 사용이 가능한 외부 이메일 플랫폼 이용을 선호하는 경향이 나타났다. 이러한 대학생의 이메일 기록관리를 지원하기 위해 졸업생 이메일 계정 유지, 충분한 이메일 저장 공간 제공, 대학생 대상 이메일 기록관리 교육 및 가이드라인 제공 등을 제시하였다.

산학협력중점교수와 대학생 창업 간의 관계 (The Relationship between Collaboration Professor and Start-up of Undergraduate Students)

  • 빠른 기술발전과 더불어 기업가적 대학의 필요성이 증대되면서 대학의 산학협력중점교수 채용이 지난 10년 동안 급증해 왔다. 그러나 산학협력중점교수의 임용 확대에도 불구하고 아직까지 산학협력중점교수와 대학의 산학협력 성과간의 관계에 대한 분석은 매우 부족한 편이다. 특히 대학생을 위한 창업 지원은 산학협력교수의 주요 업무 중 하나임에도 불구하고 산학협력교수의 대학생 창업에 대한 기여도에 대한 경험적 연구가 부족하다. 이에 본 연구는 선행연구를 토대로 2017년부터 2019년까지 4년제 203개 대학을 대상으로 산학협력중점교수, 대학생의 창업 관련 활동, 대학의 창업지원 현황 및 대학의 특성에 대한 패널 자료를 구성하여 대학생의 창업활동에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인들을 분석하고자 하였다. 분석 결과 산학협력중점교수의 비율은 대학생의 창업과 통계적으로 유의미한 관계에 있지 않은 반면, 창업전담조직에 배치된 전임교원은 대학생의 창업에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 외에도 창업캠프에 참여한 대학생의 비율과 창업을 위해 지원되는 금전적 자원이 대학생 창업에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있는 변수로 나타났다.
