  • Wireless technologies and mobile devices are getting more and more powerful. This cause in the learning research area more get research about the mobile learning situation has been done by many ambitious researchers because of not only its low cost, portability, and communication, but pedagogical reason such as authentic learning and socio-constructivism. This paper describes the overview of computer supported ubiquitous learning environment. This paper also shows what this new design of the learning environment is, how to design it, and some related researches.

  • In ubiquitous sensor networks(USNs), various sensing devices deployed in wireless sensor networks collect meaningful data from physical environments and the data are delivered to neighbor node through radio interfaces for further processing. In this processing, efficiently using of the limited source of low power and low cost is USNs on the point of energy consumption. In this paper, we measure and analyze the power consumption of LR-WPAN.

  • Recently many researches are investigating for ubiquitous computing and network. In the real world many sensor devices must be equipped to provide many services for users. To make computing environment easy and more user friendly, middleware system not only hides all complexities (network, system, services, etc), but also needs to have efficient context inference scheme and system reconfiguration capability. In this paper we suggest context-aware middleware design for sensor network which provides efficient computing environment for end-users. We also present XML based implementation of our system.

  • Low power consumption sensor network platform (sensor node) for sensor networking with IEEE 802.15.4 protocol was fabricated. The sensor node used ceramic bar type antenna for increasing RF signal performance and decreasing PCB size occupied by antenna. The communication range of the fabricated sensor node was about $20{\sim}30$ m in open environment with 915 MHz frequency bandwidth and well supported by Tiny OS. The sensor node have good connectivity with various external devices by RS-232, I2C, analogue and digital expansion board, hence, this sensor node can be applied to various applications in wireless sensor network and ubiquitous sensor network.

  • Rapid development of high-micro device design and wireless mobile communication technique enables each information instrument and devices to form intelligent network. The discussion of ubiquitous computing that provide information when and where desired is advanced actively. Information collected through ubiquitous sensor network assists it will be able to provide a convenient and accurate service. In this paper, we design and implement system which shows in realtime through TFT/LCD display device sensing data transmitted in embedded system instead of host pc.

  • A home network is a typical ubiquitous computing network that consists of various consumer devices and service environments. Home networks are requiring increasingly more complicated services, such as multimedia home theater and the monitoring and controlling of heterogeneous devices. Accordingly, a mutually connecting mechanism is needed among heterogeneous devices and services redundant. The current paper presents a Multimedia Room Bridge Adapter (MRBA) system that is designed to manage heterogeneous devices and support various services. In addition, a hardware and software prototype is implemented based on the proposed architecture.

  • Ubiquitous computing supports environment to freely connect to network without restrictions of place and time. This environment enables easy access and sharing of information, but because of easy unauthorized accesses, specified security policy is needed. Especially, ubiquitous sensor network devices use limited power and are small in size, so, many restrictions on policies are bound to happen. This paper proposes double-key based light weight security protocol, independent to specific sensor OS, platform and routing protocol in ubiquitous sensor network. The proposed protocol supports safe symmetric key distribution, and allows security manager to change and manage security levels and keys. This had a strong merit by which small process can make large security measures. In the performance evaluation, the proposed light weight security protocol using double-key in ubiquitous sensor network allows relatively efficient low power security policy. It will be efficient to ubiquitous sensor network, such as smart of ace and smart home.

  • A payment system is required to buy various services and micropayment system is demanded for minimizing a frequent payment transaction cost in ubiquitous environment. It is not guarantee that devices are always online and payment system is required a robustness when some of them is offline. To solve this situation other systems use a centralized broker but the problem with most existing micropayment system is the heavy load on the broker. In this paper present a payment system a DHT based Peer-to-Peer micropayment system for ubiquitous environment can use even if payments need not be online and reduce broker's load.

  • The fusion technology of small sensor and wireless communication was followed by various application examples of the embedded system, where the social infrastructural facilities and ecological environment were wirelessly monitored. In addition, this technology represents the primary application area being extended into the healthcare field. In this study, a body area network for ubiquitous healthcare is presented. More specifically this represents a wireless biomedical signal acquisition device characterized by small size, low power consumption, pre-processing and archiving capability. Using this device, a new method for monitoring vital signs and activity is created. A PDA-based wireless sensor network enables patients to be monitored during their daily living, without any constraints. Therefore, the proposed method can be used to develop Activities of Daily Living (ADL) monitoring devices for the elderly or movement impaired people. A medical center would be able to remotely monitor the current state of elderly people and support first-aid in emergency cases. In addition, this method will reduce medical costs in society, where the average life expectancy is increasing.

  • This article first defines the concept of ubiquitous learning, and then examine ways to design the educational environment for e-Learning and u-Learning. Next, identifies some disadvantages before seeking possible solutions. Finally, the article explores visions of how ubiquitous learning might look in the future. With the advent of information, communication and computer technologies, the needs and demands for ubiquitous learning are largely emerging, enabling students to easily access everything they want anytime, anywhere. In particular, the advance of high-speed broadband networks such as DMB, WiBro and WCDMA and the proliferation of portable digital devices including DMB, PDA and high-performance mobile phones will encourage the widespread adoption of u-Learning.
