10 MW급 복합재 풍력 블레이드의 굽힘-비틀림 커플링 거동 연구 (Bend-Twist Coupling Behavior of 10 MW Composite Wind Blade)

  • 본 연구에서는 굽힘-비틀림 커플링(bend-twist coupled, BTC) 설계개념을 적용한 10 MW급 복합재 풍력 블레이드의 구조 최적 설계를 수행하였다. BTC 설계개념은 동적 하중 상황에서 블레이드의 굽힘과 비틀림 거동 사이의 연동을 유도하여, 단면 받음각 변화에 의한 수동적인 적응 하중저감이 가능하다. 인자연구를 통해 최적의 BTC 설계인자를 추출하여 블레이드 구조설계에 적용하였다. BTC 개념이 동적 하중 감소에 미치는 영향을 가늠하기 위해 블레이드 루트 부에서의 피로등가하중을 계산한 결과, BTC 개념이 적용된 블레이드를 적용한 경우 피로등가하중이 2-3% 정도 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. BTC 효과를 시험적으로 검증하기 위해 1:29 비율의 블레이드 stiffener 축소모델을 제작하였으며, 정하중 시험을 통해 처짐 거동 시 끝단에서의 비틀림을 측정하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 CAD 시스템에서 사용하는 NURBS 기저함수를 사용하는 아이소-지오메트릭 해석(Isogeometric analysis) 방법과 기하학적으로 엄밀한 빔 모델링(geometrically exact beam model)을 활용하여 회전과 병진 운동이 결합된 새로운 형태의 메타물질(metamaterial)에 대한 해석을 진행하였다. 이차원 셀 구조는 자유형상변환(Free-form deformation) 법과 적절한 내삽법(Interpolation)을 통해 원통 위에 입혀졌다. 원통의 치수와 셀 개수가 비틀림 각도에 미치는 영향이 매개변수 연구(parametric study)를 통해 확인되었다. 비틀림과 병진 운동이 결합된 구조의 메커니즘에 대해 수치 예제를 통해 알아보았다.

Hydrodynamic characteristics of X-Twisted rudder for large container carriers

  • This paper shows the numerical and experimental results about the hydrodynamic characteristics of X-Twisted rudders having continuous twist of the leading edge along the span. All the results were compared with those of the semi-balanced rudder. Calculation through the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes Equation (RANSE) code with propeller sliding meshes shows large inflow angle and fast inflow velocity in the vicinity of ${\pm}0.7$ R from the shaft center, so it may cause cavitation. Also, X-Twisted rudder has relatively small inflow angles along the rudder span compared with semi-balanced rudder. For the performance validation, rudders for two large container carriers were designed and tested. Cavitation tests at the medium sized cavitation tunnel with respect to the rudder types and twisted angles showed the effectiveness of twist on cavitation and the tendency according to the twist. And the resistance, self-propulsion and manoeuvring tests were also carried out at the towing tank. As a result, in the case of X-Twisted rudder, ship speed was improved with good manoeuvring performance. Especially, it was found out that manoeuvring performance between port and starboard was well balanced compared with semi-balanced rudders.

  • We have calculated the d/p boundary values in which the low twist defect and the stripe domain defect can occur with dielectric constants and elastic constants and compared them with experimental data using the compensation factors. We estimated d/p margin for $250^{\circ}$ twist angle without experimental data and investigated qualitatively the reasonability of the behavior.

  • the process of strip twisting is practiced for the manufacture of some commercial parts such as elements for tube type line mixers. A thin metal strip with rectangular cross section is twisted thru an angle greater than 180。. Initial geometry is altered in to a complex one with dimen-sional changes. In practice several tryouts are necessary to obtain required dimensional accu-racies. A simple analysis model is proposed to predict the dimensional changes forming torque and axial force.

회전압출다이를 사용한 헬리컬 핀붙이 원형단면 제품의 압출가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on Extrusion Process of Cylindrical Product with Helical Fins Using Rotating Extrusion Die)

  • A new extrusion process of the circular section product with helical fins could be developed by rotating extrusion die. The twisting of extruded product is caused by the twisted conical die surface connecting the die entrance section and the die exit section linearly. But, until now, because the process has used fixed extrusion die, it needs high pressure in order to twist billet and form fin shape on the surface of billet. So, during extruding billet, in order not to twist billet, the extrusion die is needed to rotate itself instead of twisting of billet. It is known that it is possible to reduce extrusion load of product with helical fins by analysis and experiments using rotating die. And it is known that, through the extrusion load analysis by $DEFORM^{TM}-3D$ software, optimal rotational velocity of rotating die can be obtained according to reduction ratio of area and twisted angle of die. And experiments and analysis using rotating extrusion die show that the twisted angle of product can be controlled by twisted angle of extrusion helical die and the rotational velocity of extrusion helical die.

  • 본 연구에서는 다면드릴을 연구 대상으로 하여 다면 드릴의 기하학적 형상인 자들을 이용하여 드릴 작업시 추력과 토크를 예측하는 데 적합한 절삭력 예측 모델을 유도하였으며, 추력과 토크를 최소화하는 방향으로 다면드릴의 각 형상인자를 최적화 하였다.

  • Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) and Titanium Alloy (Ti6Al4V) stack, extensively used in aerospace structural components are assembled by fasteners and the holes are made using drilling process. Drilling of stack in one shot is a complicated process due to dissimilarity in the material properties. It is vital to have optimal machining condition and tool geometry for better hole quality and tool life. In this study the tool wear and hole quality were analysed by experimental analysis using three modified twist drills and online tool condition monitoring using Acoustics Emission (AE) sensor. Helix angle and point angle influence tool performance and cutting force. It was found that a tool geometry (TG1) with high helix angle of $35^{\circ}$ with low point angle $130^{\circ}$ results in reduction in thrust force of 150-500 N range but the TG2 also perform almost similar to TG1, but when compared with the AErms voltage generated during drilling it was found that progressive rise in voltage in TG1 is less with respect to TG2 which can be attributed to tool life. In process wear monitoring was done using crest factor as monitoring index. AErms voltage were measured and correlated with the performance of the drills.

  • 본 논문은 기존의 poly length만의 축소와 달리 입, 출력 소자를 포함한 core 디바이스의 $0.13{\mu}m$ 디자인을 10% 축소하는 것으로 여러 채널 길이에 따른 body effect와 doping profile simulation을 해석하였다. 축소 전의 DC 파라미터 매칭을 위하여 게이트 산화막의 decoupled plasma nitridation 처리와 LDD(Lightly Doped Drain) 이온주입 전 TEOS(Tetraethylortho silicate) 산화막 $100{\AA}$ 그리고 LDD 이온주입을 22o tilt-angle(45o twist-angle)로 최적화하였고 그 결과 축소 전의 5%의 범위에서 매칭됨을 확인하였다.

  • Optical bounce which occurs by over twist of the liquid crystal (LC) director has a problem of response time in fringe-field switching (FFS) modes. After removing the electric field, effective birefringence ($d{\Delta}n_{eff}$) at the edge of pixel electrode meets the $\lambda/2$ phase instantly, since tilt angle of LC directors at that position suddenly decreases compared to twist angle. In this paper, based on the careful analysis, origin of optical bounce has been explained.
