ML Symbol Detection for MIMO Systems in the Presence of Channel Estimation Errors

  • In wireless communication, the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is a well-known approach to improve the reliability as well as the data rate. In MIMO systems, channel state information (CSI) is typically required at the receiver to detect transmitted signals; however, in practical systems, the CSI is imperfect and contains errors, which affect the overall system performance. In this paper, we propose a novel maximum likelihood (ML) scheme for MIMO systems that is robust to the CSI errors. We apply an optimization method to estimate an instantaneous covariance matrix of the CSI errors in order to improve the detection performance. Furthermore, we propose the employment of the list sphere decoding (LSD) scheme to reduce the computational complexity, which is capable of efficiently finding a reduced set of the candidate symbol vectors for the computation of the covariance matrix of the CSI errors. An iterative detection scheme is also proposed to further improve the detection performance.

Vibro-acoustic modelling of immersed cylindrical shells with variable thickness

  • Based on the Precise Transfer Matrix Method (PTMM), the dynamic model is constructed to observe the vibration behaviour of cylindrical shells with variable thickness by solving a set of first-order differential equations. The free vibration of stiffened cylindrical shells with variable thickness can be obtained to compare with the exact solution and FEM results. The reliability of the present method of free vibration is well proved. Furthermore, the effect of thickness on the vibration responses of the cylindrical shell is also discussed. The acoustic response of immersed cylindrical shells is analyzed by a Pluralized Wave Superposition Method (PWSM). The sound pressure coefficient can be gained by collocating points along the meridian line to satisfy the Neumann boundary condition. The mode convergence analysis of the cylindrical shell is carried out to guarantee calculation precision. Also, the reliability of the present method on sound radiation is verified by comparing with experimental results and numerical results.

  • 본 논문에서는 5.9 GHz에서 동작하는 광대역의 Butler Matrix에 기반한 차량 간 통신(V2X)용 안테나의 설계법이 제시된다. V2X가, 교통 시스템의 지능화, 모바일 통신 기능의 다각화, 주파수 자원의 포화문제 해소, 신호 송수신의 효율성을 극대화를 위한 빔 형성 및 빔 조향 안테나를 필요로 함에 따라, 부피가 크지 않으면서 요구사항을 충족할 수 있는 Butler Matrix 급전부와 그에 연결된 방사체를 구현한다. 기본적인 Butler Matrix를 구성하는 협대역 부품들과 방사체가 먼저 설계된 다음, 안테나 시스템의 차량 장착시에 발생될 주파수 천이에 대해 영향을 크게 받지 않기 위한 광대역용 Butler matrix의 구성품들이 설계된다. 협대역과 광대역 구조들의 성능들이 서로 비교되어, 빔 형성 및 빔 조향의 공통된 성능을 보이는 동시에, 주파수 영역에서 대역폭 관점에서의 차별성이 도시된다.

평균-분산 최적화 모형을 이용한 로버스트 선박운항 일정계획 (A Robust Ship Scheduling Based on Mean-Variance Optimization Model)

  • This paper presented a robust ship scheduling model using the quadratic programming problem. Given a set of available carriers under control and a set of cargoes to be transported from origin to destination, a robust ship scheduling that can minimize the mean-variance objective function with the required level of profit can be modeled. Computational experiments concerning relevant maritime transportation problems are performed on randomly generated configurations of tanker scheduling in bulk trade. In the first stage, the optimal transportation problem to achieve maximum revenue is solved through the traditional set-packing model that includes all feasible schedules for each carrier. In the second stage, the robust ship scheduling problem is formulated as mentioned in the quadratic programming. Single index model is used to efficiently calculate the variance-covariance matrix of objective function. Significant results are reported to validate that the proposed model can be utilized in the decision problem of ship scheduling after considering robustness and the required level of profit.

  • 레이더, 소나 및 육해상 통신시스템에 있어서, 어레이 센서에 입사하는 수신신호가 가지는 도래방향 및 신호전력과 같은 파라미터 추정문제는 수십년 동안 많은 연구관심이 되어 왔으며, 현재에도 다양한 응용영역에서 중요한 문제 중의 하나이다. 수신신호의 파라미터 추정방법으로서 종래의 MUSIC 또는 ESPRIT와 같은 방법은 역행렬 연산과 고유치 계산이 필요하므로 계산적 복잡성이 부가된다. 본 논문에서는 어레이 안테나의 기본 신호모델로부터 파라미터 추정의 문제를 비선형 최소화 문제로 정식화 하여 역행렬과 고유치 연산을 요구하지 않는 수신신호의 파라미터 동시추정 알고리즘을 제안하고 평가한다.

Damping and frequency of twin-cables with a cross-link and a viscous damper

  • Vibration mitigation of cables or hangers is one of the crucial problems for cable supported bridges. Previous research focused on the behaviors of cable with dampers or crossties, which could help engineering community apply these mitigation devices more efficiently. However, less studies are available for hybrid applied cross-ties and dampers, especially lack of both analytical and experimental verifications. This paper studied damping and frequency of two parallel identical cables with a connection cross-tie and an attached damper. The characteristic equation of system was derived based on transfer matrix method. The complex characteristic equation was numerically solved to find the solutions. Effects of non-dimensional spring stiffness and location on the maximum cable damping, the corresponding optimum damper constant and the corresponding frequency of lower vibration mode were further addressed. System with twin small-scale cables with a cross-link and a viscous damper were tested. The damping and frequency from the test were very close to the analytical ones. The two branches of solutions: in-phase modes and the out-of-phase modes, were identified; and the two branches of solutions were different for damping and frequency behaviors.

  • Face manipulation tools represented by Deepfake have threatened the security of people's biological identity information. Particularly, manipulation tools with deep learning technology have brought great challenges to Deepfake detection. There are many solutions for Deepfake detection based on traditional machine learning and advanced deep learning. However, those solutions of detectors almost have problems of poor performance when evaluated on different quality datasets. In this paper, for the sake of making high-quality Deepfake datasets, we provide a preprocessing method based on the image pixel matrix feature to eliminate similar images and the residual channel attention network (RCAN) to resize the scale of images. Significantly, we also describe a Deepfake detector named Cascaded-Hop which is based on the PixelHop++ system and the successive subspace learning (SSL) model. By feeding the preprocessed datasets, Cascaded-Hop achieves a good classification result on different manipulation types and multiple quality datasets. According to the experiment on FaceForensics++ and Celeb-DF, the AUC (area under curve) results of our proposed methods are comparable to the state-of-the-art models.

대규모 불균형 수송문제의 간단한 해법 (Simple Algorithm for Large-scale Unbalanced Transportation Problem)

  • 본 논문은 대규모 불균형 수송 문제의 최적 해를 구하는 발견적 방법을 제안한다. 대규모 수송문제의 최적해를 찾는 방법은 일반적인 수송문제의 최적 해를 구하는 TSM을 적용하는데 어려움이 있어, 대부분은 상용화된 선형계획법 패키지를 활용한다. 그러나 상용화된 선형계획법 패키지가 최적 해를 얻었는지 검증할 방법이 없다. 본 논문은 공급지와 수요지가 $31{\times}15$인 대규모 불균형 수송문제에 대해 공급지를 기준으로 수요지가 몇 개인지를 파악하여 수요지 개수의 오름차순으로 수행하며, 각 수요지 개수에 대해서는 수요지가 1개인 경우 무조건 요구량을 배정하고, 수요지가 2개 이상인 경우, 공급지 기준의 최소 비용을 선택하고, 수요지 기준으로 비용 오름차순으로 요구량을 충족시키도록 배정하여 초기 해를 구하였다. 해 개선은 보다 큰 비용에 배정된 량을 보다 작은 비용으로 이동 가능한 조건을 만족하면 배정량을 조정하는 방법을 적용하였다. 제안된 방법을 $31{\times}15$비용행렬에 적용한 결과, 상용 선형계획법 패키지의 최적 해를 8.9% 개선하는 효과를 나타내었다.

불완전 비용 리스트를 가진 대규모 수송문제의 배정-교환 알고리즘 (The Assignment-Swap Algorithm for Large-scale Transportation Problem with Incomplete Cost Lists)

  • 본 논문은 불완전 비용 리스트를 가진 대규모 운송 문제의 최적 해를 O(mn) 수행 복잡도로 구하는 배정-교환 알고리즘을 제안한다. 완전 비용 리스트를 가진 운송 문제의 해는 일반적으로 TSM을 적용한다. 그러나 대규모 운송 문제에 대해 TSM을 적용하는데 문제가 있으며, 특히 불완전 비용 리스트를 가진 경우에는 TSM으로 풀기에는 더욱 더 어려움이 가중된다. 따라서, 실무분야 전문가들은 상용화된 선형계획법 패키지를 단순히 활용한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 첫 번째로, 운송비용 오름차순으로 운송량을 배정하는 전략을 수행하였다. 이 결과 공급 여유량을 가진 지역으로 부터 요구량을 충족시키지 못하는 지역에 배정량을 조정하였다. 두 번째로, 2-opt와 1-opt의 교환 최적화 전략을 수행하여 최적 해를 구하였다. 제안된 방법을 $31{\times}15$ 불완전 비용 행렬 문제에 적용한 결과, 배정-교환 방법이 상용 선형계획법 패키지인 LINGO의 해를 보다 개선하는 효과를 보였다.

횡하중을 받는 SiC/Ti-15-3 MMC 복합재 계면영역에서의 탄소성 응력장분포거동(II) (Elastic-Plastic Stress Distributions Behavior in the Interface of SiC/Ti-15-3 MMC under Transverse Loading(II))

  • The strong continuous fiber reinforced metal matrix composites (MMCs) are recently used in aerospace and transportation applications as an advanced material due to its high strength and light weight. Unidirectional fiber-metal matrix composites have superior mechanical properties along the longitudinal direction. However, the applicability of continuous fiber reinforced MMCs is somewhat limited due to their relatively poor transverse properties. Therefore, the transverse properties of MMCs are significantly influenced by the properties of the fiber/matrix interface. In order to be able to utilize these MMCs effectively and with safety, it must be determined their elastic plastic behaviors at the interface. In this study, the interfacial stress states of transversely loaded unidirectional fiber reinforced metal matrix composites investigated by using elastic-plastic finite element analysis. Different fiber volume fractions $(5-60\%)$ were studied numerically. The interlace was treated as three thin layer (with different properties) with a finite thickness between the fiber and the matrix. The fiber is modeled as transversely isotropic linear-elastic, and the matrix as isotropic elastic-plastic material. Using proposed model, the effects of the interface region and fiber arrangement in MMCs on the distributions of stress and strain are evaluated. The stress distributions of a thin multi layer interface have much less changes compared with conventional perfect interface. The analyses were based on a two-dimensional generalized plane strain model of a cross-section of an unidirectional composite by the ANSYS finite element analysis code.
