  • Buddhist temples and halls signify paradise on earth. Buddhist sutras refer to paradise as a place where flowers fall down like snow, fragrance and music fill the air, flowers blossom and butterflies fly. The Kkot Mun of Buddhist temples are an essential part of the creation of this paradise and are ornamented with elaborate sculptures of flowers and animals. The ornamentation of the Kkot Mun is truly admirable for its artistry and beauty. Although the Kkot Mun is an element of Korean traditional Buddhist architecture, it could also be applied to costume work. I thought the characteristic elements of the Kkot Mun for the costume work were the flower, the lattice and the transparent effect that was made with the lattice and Dagjongee. I used the technique of strap cutting, strap twisting and cut-out for the lattice of Kkot Mun and flower making, knitting, cut-out and quilting for the flower of Kkot Mun. I represented the transparent effect of Kkot Mun with the lapped materials. I selected six remarkable Kkot Mun of Korean temples, revised shapes of these and made six costume works. These six costume works would be the suggestion of costume design if an element of Korean traditional architecture was applied to modern costume making.

  • Transparent conducting electrodes are essential components in various optoelectrical devices. Although indium tin oxide thin films have been widely used for transparent conducting electrodes, silver nanowire network is a promising alternative to indium tin oxide thin films owing to its lower processing cost and greater suitability for flexible device application. In order to widen the application of silver nanowire network, the electrical conductance has to be improved while maintaining high optical transparency. In this study, we report the enhancement of the electrical conductance of silver nanowire network transparent electrodes by copper electrodeposition on the silver nanowire networks. The electrodeposited copper lowered the sheet resistance of the silver nanowire networks from $21.9{\Omega}{\square}$ to $12.6{\Omega}{\square}$. We perform detailed X-ray diffraction analysis revealing the effect of the amount of electrodeposited copper-shell on the sheet resistance of the core-shell(silver/copper) nanowire network transparent electrodes. From the relationship between the cross-sectional area of the copper-shell and the sheet resistance of the transparent electrodes, we deduce the electrical resistivity of electrodeposited copper to be approximately 4.5 times that of copper bulk.

  • Currently, graphene is a topic of very active research in fields from science to potential applications. For various radio-frequency (RF) circuit applications including low-noise amplifiers, the unique ambipolar nature of graphene field-effect transistors can be utilized for high-performance frequency multipliers, mixers and high-speed radiometers. Potential integration of graphene on Silicon substrates with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor compatibility would also benefit future RF systems. The future success of the RF circuit applications depends on vertical and lateral scaling of graphene metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors to minimize parasitics and improve gate modulation efficiency in the channel. In this paper, we highlight recent progress in graphene materials, devices, and circuits for RF applications. For passive RF applications, we show its transparent electromagnetic shielding in Ku-band and transparent antenna, where its success depends on quality of materials. We also attempt to discuss future applications and challenges of graphene.

  • Thickness dependent morphology of ZnO films was studied, and ZnO can be intentionally grown into amorphous phase by reducing the thickness. The top-gate amorphous ZnO TTFTs with rather high field-effect mobilities and on/off current ratios were effectively fabricated.

  • The effect of the heat treatment of the AZO transparent conductive film prepared by rf magnetron sputtering was investigated. The variations of the electrical and optical properties with heat treatment ambient and temperature were studied. After the heat treatment in air above 300.deg. C, the resistivity of AZO films increased by 1 to 8 orders of magnitude. However, no significant change in the AZO films after th eheat treatment in vacuum was not observed.

  • This study attempted to make a comparative analysis of dress and architecture to investigate the spatial effect of transparency expressed in fashion. As a result, the following findings were obtained: First, the openness of the space. It means that the human body or the dress inside it can be seen through or the inside space is opened. The volume, form and color of the undergarment seen through this transparent outer garment brings about any change to design. Also, it can be found that the role of the space is further extended as the inside space is seen through outwardly due to the outer garment. Second, interpenetration of the internal and external space. That the human body and the undergarment are seen through due to transparent dress brings about the linkage between spaces and opens the inside outwardly. Third, the briskness of the space. The trait of transparency that exposes the object behind outwardly as it is causes its form and space to be activated and conveys its spatial briskness.

  • We report on the Ag thickness effect on the electrical and optical properties of indium zinc tin oxide (IZTO)-Ag-IZTO multilayer electrode grown on a PET substrate and the surface plasmon effect of Ag layer on the optical properties of IZTO-Ag-IZTO electrode. Using an IZTO-Ag-IZTO multilayer with a total thickness below ~80 nm, we can obtain high-quality flexible electrode with very low sheet resistance, high transmittance, high work function and superior flexibility.

  • In this paper, the effect of a Doppler Spread caused by a mobile station (MS) is analyzed for transparent mobile multi-hop relays (MMR) systems based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The exact expression of interchannel interference (ICI) power and the upper bounds of ICI power are derived for OFDM systems with cooperative MMR or non-coopeartive throughput enhancement (TE) MMR. Also, the exact signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) and its lower bound as well as ICI power and its upper bound, derived in this paper, are evaluated by computer simulation with the OFDM parameter set used for mobile WiMax (WiBro) systems.
