Formal methods for protocol description of a system is based on the implementation id S/W. However, the importance of H/W implementation for a parts of protocol design is increasing. The combination between H/W and IP technology is needed since the implementation environment is changing from S/W to H/W for implementation of specific application protocol. H/W implementation method starting with formal description procedure is essential to guarantree correctness and reliability of the implemented H/W by characteristic of formal description language. Inthis paper, for an automated H/W implementations, ESTELLE, a formal description method, is adopted. A transformation method from specification of ESTELLE to VHDL is suggested. This is an conceptual method that comparing and analyzing similarities between basic units of protocol description such as computation and communication unit and inter processors in H/W. Then we describe transformation model, and suggest example of transformation from ESTELLE to VHDL with Inres protocol.
In modal analysis, the mode shape reflects the vibration characteristics of the structure, and thus it is widely performed for finite element model updating and structural health monitoring. Generally, the acceleration-based mode shape is suitable to express the characteristics of structures for the translational vibration; however, it is difficult to represent the rotational mode at boundary conditions. A tilt sensor and gyroscope capable of measuring rotational mode are used to analyze the overall behavior of the structure, but extracting its mode shape is the major challenge under the small vibration always. Herein, we conducted a feasibility study on a multi-mode shape estimating approach utilizing a single physical quantity signal. The basic concept of the proposed method is to receive multi-metric dynamic responses from two sensors and obtain mode shapes through bridge loading test with relatively large deformation. In addition, the linear transformation matrix for estimating two mode shapes is derived, and the mode shape based on the gyro sensor data is obtained by acceleration response using ambient vibration. Because the structure's behavior with respect to translational and rotational mode can be confirmed, the proposed method can obtain the total response of the structure considering boundary conditions. To verify the feasibility of the proposed method, we pre-measured dynamic data acquired from five accelerometers and five gyro sensors in a lab-scale test considering bridge structures, and obtained a linear transformation matrix for estimating the multi-mode shapes. In addition, the mode shapes for two physical quantities could be extracted by using only the acceleration data. Finally, the mode shapes estimated by the proposed method were compared with the mode shapes obtained from the two sensors. This study confirmed the applicability of the multi-mode shape estimation approach for accurate damage assessment using multi-dimensional mode shapes of bridge structures, and can be used to evaluate the behavior of structures under ambient vibration.
This study aims to suggest an analysis method for the research on the transformation of welfare states. To this end, 'restucturization' and 'change inside the structure' were differentiated. The 'restucturization' indicates a fundamental change of the structure itself, while the 'change inside the structure' means the modification of elements inside the structure. If 'abolition', 'substitution'/'entrust' and 'introduction' occurred, the changes are considered the 'restucturization'. Then it is examined, how the competence of the public organizations for social security systems is changed after the 'restucturization'. On the basis of this evaluation measure, the changes of 'restucturization' are defined as 'public-oriented restucturization', 'private-oriented restucturization' or 'status quo'. For analyzing the 'change inside the structure', coverage, entitlement, the level and length of benefit, finance and delivery system were compared within each country. The current study applied this analysis method to the research on the transformations of social security systems of Great Britain, Sweden and Germany.
In this paper we address the MBR-safe property of Piecewise Aggregation Approximation(PAA), and propose an of efficient subsequence matching method based on the MBR-safe PAA. A transformation is said to be MBR-safe if a low-dimensional MBR to which a high- dimensional MBR is transformed by the transformation contains every individual low-dimensional sequence to which a high-dimensional sequence is transformed. Using an MBR-safe transformation we can reduce the number of lower-dimensional transformations required in similar sequence matching, since it transforms a high-dimensional MBR itself to a low-dimensional MBR directly. Furthermore, PAA is known as an excellent lower-dimensional transformation single its computation is very simple, and its performance is superior to other transformations. Thus, to integrate these advantages of PAA and MBR-safeness, we first formally confirm the MBR-safe property of PAA, and then improve subsequence matching performance using the MBR-safe PAA. Contributions of the paper can be summarized as follows. First, we propose a PAA-based MBR-safe transformation, called mbrPAA, and formally prove the MBR-safeness of mbrPAA. Second, we propose an mbrPAA-based subsequence matching method, and formally prove its correctness of the proposed method. Third, we present the notion of entry reuse property, and by using the property, we propose an efficient method of constructing high-dimensional MBRs in subsequence matching. Fourth, we show the superiority of mbrPAA through extensive experiments. Experimental results show that, compared with the previous approach, our mbrPAA is 24.2 times faster in the low-dimensional MBR construction and improves subsequence matching performance by up to 65.9%.

SGBEM(Symmetric Galerkin Boundary Element Method)-FEM alternating method has been proposed by Nikishkov, Park and Atluri. In the proposed method, arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional crack problems can be solved by alternating between the crack solution in an infinite body and the finite element solution without a crack. In the previous study, the SGBEM-FEM alternating method was extended further in order to solve elastic-plastic crack problems and to obtain elastic-plastic stress fields. For the elastic-plastic analysis the algorithm developed by Nikishkov et al. is used after modification. In the algorithm, the initial stress method is used to obtain elastic-plastic stress and strain fields. In this paper, elastic-plastic J integrals for three-dimensional cracks are obtained using the method. For that purpose, accurate values of displacement gradients and stresses are necessary on an integration path. In order to improve the accuracy of stress near crack surfaces, coordinate transformation and partitioning of integration domain are used. The coordinate transformation produces a transformation Jacobian, which cancels the singularity of the integrand. Using the developed program, simple three-dimensional crack problems are solved and elastic and elastic-plastic J integrals are obtained. The obtained J integrals are compared with the values obtained using a handbook solution. It is noted that J integrals obtained from the alternating method are close to the values from the handbook.
In the commercial space, the modern consumers want to consume not only product but also culture. Thus, the modern commercial space tries to induce the customer's concern and purchase to the differentiated design. The introduction of this 'the natural element' delivers the pleasure and stability to the consumer buying process and availability is enlarged. Therefore, the purpose of study is gain that expression and characteristic method of the natural element in the commercial space. The detailed study method are as follows. First, the study looks into the natural element expression tendency in the modern space. Second, the expression type of the natural element was classified as 'Reappearance', 'Transformation', and 'Fuse' based on the preceding research. And according to the content of the expression type, subdivided method of 'Inclusion' and 'Replication' of 'Reappearance' and method of 'Imitation' and 'Association' of 'Transformation' and method of 'Juxtaposition' and 'Combine' of 'Fuse'. Third, the result of analyze the characteristic of expression of the natural element of the besides the commercial space case 20 place is as follows. First, 'Inclusion' of 'Reappearance' introduced the external scenery or planned garden as the inside through the opening. 'Replication' is used for decorative purposes or functional purposes as the natural element. 'Imitation' of 'Transformation' imitated the form, pattern, and color of the natural element and was mainly expressed in the wall and objet. The method of 'Association' expressed the concept of the natural element for the whole of the space and a portion of the wall and objet repetitively. As for 'Juxtaposition', mixture of 'Reappearance' had a good visual effect, because it can be obtained the external-internal nature. As for 'Combine', mixture of 'Replication' and 'Imitation' was the most common method. Thus, the study results are expected to be utilized as base date in designing the commercial with development of the natural element application method.
For a single-input nonlinear system, the transformation which transposes the nonlinear system to a controllable-like canonical system has been proposed. However this method islimited by a single-input system and it is difficult to apply the method actually. In this paper we propose a method which transposes the nonlinear system with multi-input into an equivalent pseudo-linear system. And we apply the pseudo-linear system to a linear optimal regulator. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method, a transient stability control of the generator with an excitor and a governor is considered.

In this paper, we have proposed the efficient algorithm that can segment the video scene change using a various statistical characteristics obtained from by applying the wavelet transformation for each frames. Our method firstly extracts the histogram features from low frequency subband of wavelet-transformed image and then uses these features to detect the abrupt scene change. Second, it extracts the edge information from applying the mesh method to the high frequency subband of transformed image. We quantify the extracted edge information as the values of variance characteristic of each pixel and use these values to detect the gradual scene change. And we have also proposed an algorithm how extract the proper key frame from segmented video scene. Experiment results show that the proposed method is both very efficient algorithm in segmenting video frames and also is to become the appropriate key frame extraction method.
The narrowband speech over the telephone network is lacking in the information from low-band (0-300 Hz) and high-band (3400-8000 Hz) that are found in wideband speech (0-8000 Hz). As a result, narrowband speech is characterized by the reduced intelligibility and muffled quality, and degraded speaker identification. Spectral folding is the easiest way to reconstruct the missing high-band; however, the reconstructed speech still brings the sense of band-limited characteristic because of the absence of low-band and mid-band frequency components. To compensate for the lack of the extended speech, we propose to combine the spectral folding method and GMM transformation method, which is a statistical method to reconstruct wideband speech. The reconstructed wideband speech showed that the absent frequency components was filled up with relatively low spectral mismatch. According to the subjective speech quality evaluations, the proposed method was preferred to other methods.
The method of Asymptotic Inner Boundary Condition for Singularly Perturbed Two-Point Boundary value Problems is presented. By using a terminal point, the original second order problem is divided in to two problems namely inner region and outer region problems. The original problem is replaced by an asymptotically equivalent first order problem and using the stretching transformation, the asymptotic inner condition in implicit form at the terminal point is determined from the reduced equation of the original second order problem. The modified inner region problem, using the transformation with implicit boundary conditions is solved and produces a condition for the outer region problem. We used Chawla's fourth order method to solve both the inner and outer region problems. The proposed method is iterative on the terminal point. Some numerical examples are solved to demonstrate the applicability of the method.
