  • This paper is designed to examine the effectiveness of Computational Thinking and programming awareness by designing and applying programming classes using Havruta. In the present society, where the Fourth Industrial Revolution was in full swing, the capacity to be equipped has changed, and the education has been changed accordingly. Programming education is logically capable of thinking and improves comprehensive problem solving skills. This direction of programming education allows us to get ideas for solving problems based on computing thoughts and to create our own creative results. However, because they require the grammar of the programming language and many additional abilities, they are not easy for learners, and individual differences in competencies make learning less immersive and interesting. In this paper, to solve the problems of the uniform programming class, this study is designed and applied to the class applying the Jewish traditional teaching method, Havruta's teaching method, to find out the effect of computing thinking and programming perception.

Shockwave Simulations and Visualization for Teaching Quantum Chemistry (양자화학 교육을 위한 쇽웨이브 시뮬레이션 및 시각화)

  • Quantum chemistry has many concepts that are either abstract or counterintuitive, giving students difficulties in understanding them. Fortunately, the advancement of web technologies provides us with hordes of powerful tools to produce rich multimedia web applications that supplement traditional classroom teaching. In this paper we present an approach to address this issue that combines interactive simulations and visualization on the web browser using Shockwave technology. With several examples, we show how to take advantage of the features of the Shockwave technology in developing web-based course material with ease.

  • To cultivate talented people with creative and convergent thinking skills to live in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the national curriculum of Korea is gradually emphasizing convergence education and software education. To meet the demands of the times, this paper suggests subject-convergent teaching-learning materials for educating core principles of Support Vector Machines, especially targeting elementary learners. Based on analysis of the national curriculum, achievement standards of three subjects are integrated. After printable worksheets for traditional face-to-face classes had developed, they were transformed to online interactive worksheets for non-face-to-face classes. The teaching-learning materials are expected to promote the growth of the learners' academic motivation and knowledge.

  • Accounting is one of the fields greatly affected by the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in general and the digital transformation trend in particular. However, the digital transformation process will also be a weakness if domestic accounting and auditing training activities do not adapt promptly and keep up with the practical requirements of social needs. Job opportunities in the accounting industry will shrink due to increased labor productivity and increasing support technologies, leading to a decrease in the need for traditional accountants. This paper focuses on clarifying the shortcomings and difficulties in accounting training activities by surveying 120 accounting lecturers teaching at domestic universities. Research results show that there are six existing factors and difficulties in accounting training activities due to the digital transformation process, including: facilities, lecturer capacity, training programs, teaching methods. teaching, assessment methods and practice and practice activities. Based on the survey results, we propose recommendations for training activities due to the impact of digital transformation at universities in Vietnam.

  • We investigated middle school students' awareness of Han-style(Korean cuture) in order to promote it, and developed and applied the Teaching-Learning Lesson Plan according to the traditional clothing culture contents related to Han Style. We selected 5 major fields representing Han Style including Han-gul(Korean alphabet). Han-sik(Korean food). Han-bok(Korean traditional clothes). Han-ji(Korean traditional paper), and Han-ok(Korean traditional house). We analyzed the contents of the food, clothing and shelter in 6 types of high school testbooks under the revised 7th national curriculum, and chose seven traditional clothing-lifestyle culture contents. Also we developed 14-period processes and materials(9 for teachers. 9 for students and 3 for and applied it to usual classes. The mean score of middle school students' awareness of Han Style in the post-test was significantly higher than that in the pre-test. Students evaluated it positively that the classes could raise the pride on the Han-culture and provoke the interest in it through the direct experiencing activities. We suggest that the various themes on Han-style should be developed, and the theoretical classes on the identity as well as the experiencing activities on it.

Students' Self-Regulated Learning Strategies in Traditional and Non-Traditional Classroom: A Comparative Study

  • This study used a posttest control group design and to find out differences between students' self-regulated learning strategies in traditional and non-traditional classroom. To this end, 131 first year university students within the experimental and control groups took part in the study. While ICT-based approach was used as the main medium of instruction in the experimental group, in the control group the paper-based traditional method was used. A survey adapted from Davaanyam [Davaanyam, T. (2013). The structural relationships among Mongolian students' attitudes toward mathematics, motivational beliefs, self-regulated learning strategies, and mathematics achievement. Ph. D. Dissertation. Jeonju, Jeonbuk, Korea: Chonbuk National Unversity.] was used to gather the data. The results of the study indicated a significant difference between the control and experimental groups in regard with their self-regulated learning. That is to say, the experimental group taught through ICT tools acquired higher levels of self-regulation as compared with the control group instructed through the traditional teaching method.

A Study on Analyzing the Learning Effectiveness of Multi-media -Focusing on Basic Agricultural Technology Course in High School- (멀티미디어 교육자료가 학습효과에 미친 영향에 관한 연구 - "농업기초기술" 교과의 에듀넷 멀티미디어 교육자료를 중심으로 -)

  • This study tried to analyze the learning effectiveness of multi-media based class by comparing with traditional classroom method. The "Basic Agricultural Technology" course that is one of the required courses of agricultural high school was selected and its contents were digitalized on MS Powerpoint for multi-media based class. The thirty students were sampled for each experimental and control groups. The homogeneity and learning achievement of sample groups were tested for experiment. Same teacher took the classes of two groups and delivered same contents of course. Only difference between two groups was the delivery method, one is traditional classroom teaching method and the other was the multi-media based class. The learning achievements and satisfaction of sample were post-tested in order to analyze the learning effectiveness by comparing two teaching methods. The results showed that there was a significant difference between experimental and control group in learning achievement after ANCOVA controlled pre-test as covariance(F=5.08, p<.05). It means that the learning achievement of multi-media based class was higher than that of traditional classroom group. The results also showed that a significant difference in students’ satisfaction between two groups (t=5.57, p<.001). This study concluded that using multi-media in class could produce more learning achievements and satisfaction of students than traditional classroom method.

  • Science of prescriptions is an important part in the education of Korean Oriental Medicine. In spite of that, there is less agreement on measures for improving the education quality of science of prescriptions. Science of prescriptions can be classified into generalities and particulars. This study sought to present contents that must be incorporated into Introduction to Science of Prescriptions to enhance the quality of education by examining both teaching materials being used in colleges of traditional Chinese medicine and those of Korean oriental medicine and the Introduction part of books related with science of prescriptions. And when this study was carried out, training Korean oriental medicine practitioners and researchers and educators of science of prescriptions was taken into account. It is judged that Introduction to Science of Prescriptions needs to be divided into seven chapters and that each chapter requires containing opinions of ancient doctors and references to lay the basis of learning and revised and practical contents in addition to traditional ones. Curriculum and Standardization of Preventive Medicine Education in Traditional Korean Medicine (한의과대학의 예방(사회)의학 관련 교과목의 교육과정 및 표준화방안)

  • The rapid change of the health and medical environment and the globalization of medicine has driven doctors to converge and analyse of new and up-to-date medical information and decide to what to make decision for diagnosis and treatments in clinical practice. Medical environment goes with the changes with social environment such as rapid increase of aging population, changes of disease pattern, formation of new area of experts except doctors, government intervention for the medical system, medical insurance of the charges of medical treatment, a increased desire for human rights. These trends should be adopted rapidly to the education system for the students of medical school. The learning objectives of the preventive medicine was developed in 1995 and underwent necessary revision of the contents to create the first revision in 2006. However, the required educational contents of health promotion and disease prevention have been changed by the new trends of medical education such as PBL and integrated curriculum and the 2006 revision does not satisfy these needs. We formed a task force which surveyed all the Western and Traditional Korean medical colleges to describe the state of preventive medicine education in Korea, analyzed the changing education demand according to the change of health environment and quantitatively measured the validity and usefulness of each learning objective in the previous curriculum. With these results, for the good education for preventive medicine, each Traditional Korean medicine schools need more preventive medicine faculties and teaching assistants and opening of some required subjects such as Yangsaeng and Qigong. And future studies of the learning process and ongoing development of teaching materials according to the new learning objectives should be undertaken with persistence in order to ensure the progress of preventive medicine education.

  • This study investigates strategies to increase learning efficiency for programming subjects to which flipped learning teaching method is applied targeting non-major students. Design a learner-centered flipped learning-based programming class and get strategies for effective application methods for field application. Also, the purpose is to explore the efficient application of the flipped learning teaching method to the computational thinking subject of liberal arts classes at this university. By applying the flipped learning teaching method, one of the innovative teaching methods, we consider ways to improve the quality of programming subject classes, the efficiency of practical education, and the improvement of learner achievement. The purpose of this study is to design an efficient learning model for software education targeting non-majors by applying various teaching methods and learning design models convergence away from the traditional teaching method.
