Exploring Convergence R & D area via Data-driven Tech mining: The case of landslide prevention technology linked to ICT (데이터 기반 테크마이닝(tech-mining)을 통한 융합 R&D 영역 탐색: ICT 기반 산사태 예방 기술 사례를 중심으로)

  • Due to the high complexity and diversity of the problems of the future society, it is getting harder to solve with the traditional single technology. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in convergence technology, which combines or connects different types of technologies to create new technologies and industries. In this study, we explored the convergence R&D area of ICT technology related to landslide prevention/response. It is true that the world has been exposed to various disasters due to recent climate change. As a result, there is a tendency to use Big Data and ICT for disaster preparedness and recovery. Especially, in the case of landslides, it is a natural disaster that requires research not only to study actual landslides but also to predict potential landslides. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed what kind of convergence R&D is being carried out in the field of ICT for preventing and responding to landslide. Therefore, in this study, Web of Science article data were analyzed by using the scientometric analysis and 51 landslide-related ICT convergence R&D areas were derived.

Quality Characteristics of the Myungran-Jeot with Saccharina japonica Water Extract Fermented by Lactic Acid Bacteria (유산균으로 발효한 다시마(Saccharina japonica) 추출물 첨가 명란젓의 품질 특성)

  • Natural seasoning are trends of food industries to replace synthesized seasoning due to consumer preference. However, unexpected results can be happened in a point of sensory evaluation and physico-chemical properties by adding natural seasoning such as reduced flavor, color change and so on. Therefore, this study aimed to verify the potential of sea tangle Saccharina japonica extract fermented by lactic acid bacteria (STE) for myungran (pollock roe)-jeot instead of present synthesized seasoning. Among various STE concentration (0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%) in myungranjeot, there was no significant physicochemical changes in a point of crude lipid, pH, total acidity, salinity and color difference. Microbiological profiles was also not significantly different. The 10% STE-myungran-jeot showed higher ${\gamma}$-aminobutyric acid (GABA) content as 24.4 mg/100g at free amino acid analysis than other STE-myungran-jeot without decline of sensory properties. In overall, it revealed that STE could replace the synthesized seasoning and improve the quality of Myungran-jeot. The results suggest that STE can be useful to develop a Korean traditional fermented food.

Influence Factor of Science and Technology Jobs in Manufacturing Sector (제조업 과학기술 일자리 영향요인 분석)

  • Despite the importance of manufacturing to the national economy, the sharp decline in the share of employment is a common problem faced by developed countries, including Korea. In particular, science and technology jobs are important in terms of policy because they are directly related to the quality of employment and industrial competitiveness, but previous research on this is insignificant. This study analyzed the effects of new product development, new process development, open innovation, and government R&D support on science and technology job creation after subdividing manufacturing industry by technology regime. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the development of new products contributed to the expansion of science and technology jobs, but the development of new processes decreased science and technology jobs. In addition, open innovation has the effect of reducing science and technology jobs due to outsourcing of research and development functions, and government R&D support contributes to creating science and technology jobs in traditional industries with low demand for technological innovation.

  • Since the 1950s, many of the traditional industrial cities of advanced economies in Europe and North America were affected by a series of de-industrialization. The de-industrialization process, characterized by company shut-downs and massive lay-offs, has resulted in high unemployment rates and massive redundancies in physical infrastructure. Since the 1980s, many of the old industrial cities have attempted to overcome such problems. However, it has been found that not many of the cities are found to be successful. The City of Dortmund, one of the core cities of the large German industrial conurbation of the past, the Ruhr, is found to be an exceptional case demonstrating a clear success in overcoming deindustrialization problems. The City in fact strategically pursued transforming backbone of its economy from steel-making, coal-mining and beer-brewery to high-technology and future-oriented industries, based on microsystems, biomedical, electronic logistics and information technology. This paper attempts to analyse the processes and outcomes of transforming Dortmund beginning from the 1980s to articulate the roles of the agencies contributing to the success.

Effects of winter and spring housing on growth performance and blood metabolites of Pengbo semi-wool sheep in Tibet

  • Objective: Sixty Pengbo semi-wool sheep ewes (approximately 1.5-years-old; $31.33{\pm}0.43kg$) were randomly assigned to two groups, either grazing (G) or dry lot feeding (D), to examine the effects of traditional daily grazing and dry lot feeding on performance and blood metabolites during the cold season in Tibetan Plateau. Methods: The ewes in the G group were grazed continuously each day and housed in one shed each evening, while the ewes in the D group were housed in another shed all day. All animals were fed 400 g/d of commercial concentrate, and grass hay was available freely throughout the experimental period. Results: Compared with the G group, the ewes in the D group had higher (p<0.05) live weight and weight gain. The D group ewes had greater (p<0.05) numbers of white blood cells and platelets, while they had lower (p<0.05) platelet-large cell ratios, cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and glutathione peroxidase, as compared with the G group ewes. Additionally, three serum metabolites, abscisic acid, xanthoxin and 3,4-dihydroxy-5-polypren, were upregulated (p<0.05) in the G group in comparison with the D group. Conclusion: In conclusion, a dry lot feeding regime during the winter and spring period will increase the productivity of sheep and improve blood physiological and biochemical profiles.

  • One of the words frequently mentioned in our society today is the smart machine. Smart machines are machines that contain smart or intelligent functions. These smart machines have recently been applied in our home environment. These are phenomena that occur as a result of smart home. In a smart home environment, smart speakers have moved away from traditional music playback functions and are now increasingly serving as interfaces to control devices, the various components of a smart home. In this study, the technology trends of domestic and foreign smart speaker market are examined, problems of current products are analyzed, and necessary core technologies are described. In the domestic smart speaker market, SKT and KT are leading the related industries, while major IT companies such as Amazon, Google and Apple are focusing on launching related products and technology development.

  • The traditional yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) used in thermal barrier coatings has a limited operating temperature owing to densification and volume changes at high temperatures. A $(La_{1-x}Y_x)_2Zr_2O_7$ sintered compound was prepared by the co-precipitation and oxalate methods, by adding lanthanum zirconate to yttria. The thermal properties and crystallinity obtained by the two different methods were compared. Both methods yielded pyrochlore structures, and the oxalate method confirmed phases at low temperatures. The thermal conductivity of the sintered bulk prepared by co-precipitation was 0.93 W/mK, while that prepared by the oxalate method was 0.85 W/mK. These values are superior to that of 4YSZ at $1,000^{\circ}C$, which is widely used in industries.

  • AI is applied increasingly to overall industries such as living, medical, financial service, autonomous car, etc. thanks to rapid technology development. AI-leading countries are strengthening their competency to secure competitiveness since AI is positioned as the core technology in $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution. Although Korea has the competitive IT infra and human resources, it lags behind traditional AI-leaders like United States, Canada, Japan and, even China which devotes all its might to develop intelligent technology-intentive industry. AI is the critical technology influencing on the national industry in the near future according to advancement of intelligent information society so that concentration of capability is required with national interest. Also, joint development with global AI-leading companies as well as development of own technology are crucial to prevent technology subordination. Additionally, regulatory reform and preparation of related law are very urgent.

The Relationship between Perceived Justice and Customer Attitude in an Integrated On·Offline Commerce : Focusing on the Moderation Effect of Commerce Industry Type (통합된 온·오프라인 상거래에서 지각된 공정성과 고객태도 간 관계 : 상거래 산업유형의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • O2O(Online-to-Offline) commerce, a kind of multi-channel, is used in various industries such as accommodation, food and beverage, transportation, and real estate. The O2O commerce, a channel of integrating online and offline, overcomes the limitations of traditional online commerce, where a customer made a purchase decision without direct experience. Despite this advantage of O2O, if the online-offline channel is not effectively linked, customer's complaints would occur due to service failure. This study, with regard to O2O service failure circumstances, intends to investigate the effect of customer's perceived justice on their emotional response, recovery satisfaction, followed by intention to repurchase. Perceived justice in this study is composed of distributive justice, interactional justice, and procedural justice. Furthermore, this study explores the moderation effect of O2O industry types in the relationship between perceived justice and emotion. An O2O industry type is classified into accommodation, food and beverage, and transportation. A hypothesized research model was empirically tested using a structural equation model. The current study collected 433 questionnaires and the target respondents are customers who have experienced service failure in O2O commerce. The empirical results showed that O2O commerce more effectively conducts service recovery strategy and causes positive customer response by integrating online and offline channel. One of the ultimate purposes of O2O service providers is to reduce the likelihood of service failures and to recover more quickly and efficiently by linking two channels rather than using a single channel. This study suggested that the O2O channel is effective in influencing customer satisfaction and loyalty by inducing customer's positive emotions in recovering service failure.

Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI): Structured Literature Reviews with Socio-Technical Perspective (Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI: 자기주권신원) 연구 동향 분석: 사회경제, 법률, 기술적 고찰을 중심으로)

  • The concept of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) has emerged to overcome the limitations of traditional centralized personal identity management systems in our society. Therefore, in this study, 36 seminal researches out of 112 collected studies were investigated with a systematic literature review method to deliver a core common definition as well as the research trends on SSI in the socioeconomic, legal and technological fields. SSI studies in the legal field have mainly considered the conflicts with relevant laws such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and privacy protection laws. The study of SSI in the technology field have looked at the trends of the technical components to implement SSI and discussed the necessities of establishing standards to increase interoperability for SSI diffusion worldwide. This study ultimately derived the core definition of SSI from a various academic fields as "a trust-based personal identity management system that enables autonomous self-identification by a identity owner without a centralized system or 3rd party intervention". The results of this study contribute to the understanding of the essential SSI concept which were varied on different research fields and industries. The results also provide a foundation for discovering various SSI-based business models, applications as well as future research opportunities. Furthermore, this study suggested that SSI must be developed with interdisciplinary manner among the socioeconomic, legal, and technological fields to be practically applicable system to enable autonomous self-identification by a identity owner in our society.
