Objectives In order to the review of the Yoon Gil-Young's theory on the "differentiation of syndromes", we studied on the his method and system of classification on the "differentiation of syndromes". Methods We reviewed on "The Clinical Formula Science Traditional Korean Medicine 東醫臨床方劑學", "A study on the Methodology of Traditional Korean Medicine 東醫學의 方法論硏究" "The theory of SaSang Constitution Medicine 四象體質醫學論". From a connected standpoint with the basic theory and clinical medicine, considered on the Yoon Gil-Young's theory of "differentiation of syndromes". Results Yoon Gil-Young's theory of differentiation of syndromes and treatment was widespread so much that he studied on the learning field of Traditional Korean Mediciine and ingenious as well. The main principles of differentiation of syndromes was summarized the three representative syndrome-complexes; BON-HER(original deficiency syndrome), BON-HAN(orginal cold excess syndrome), BON-YEOL(original heat excess syndrome). And also the three representative syndrome-complexes was previously carried out the details of differentiation of syndromes and assigned represent prescription one by one. Conclusions As the results, Yoon Gil-Young insisted the system of differentiation of syndromes closely connecting with Traditional Korean Medical physiology, pathology, diagnosis and prescriptions. And therefore he was a frontier of the field of Traditional Korean Medicine.

Objectives : Rosa laevigata Michx. has been used for the treatment of renal disease in traditional Korean medicine. In this study, we investigated cytoprotective effect of R. laevigata water extract (RLE) against oxidative stress induced by arachidonic acid (AA) + iron.Methods : To evaluate the protective effects of RLE against AA + iron-induced oxidative stress in HepG2 cell, cell viability and changes on apoptosis-related proteins were assessed by MTT and immunoblot analyses. The effects of RLE on reduced glutathione level, production of reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial membrane potential were also monitored. Furthermore, to verify underlying molecular mechanism, NF-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) was examined by immunoblot analysis. Additionally, Nrf2 transactivation and its downstream target genes expression were also determined by reporter gene and realtime RT-PCR analyses.Results : RLE pretreatment (30-300 μg/ml) prevented cells from AA + iron-mediated cell death in a concentration dependent manner. In addition, 100 μg/ml RLE inhibited AA + iron-induced glutathione depletion, reactive oxygen species production and mitochondrial dysfunction. RLE accumulated nuclear Nrf2 and also transactivated Nrf2, which was evidenced by antioxidant response element- and glutathione S-transferase A2-driven luciferase activities and mRNA level of glutamate-cysteine ligase catalytic subunit, NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1 and sestrin 2. Moreover, protective effect of RLE against AA + iron was abolished in Nrf2 knockout cells.Conclusions : These results indicate that RLE has the ability to protect hepatocyte against oxidative stress through Nrf2 activation.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to confirm the consumption trends of Korean medicine for health food consumption of consumers by using the Naver DataLab Shopping Insight service. Methods : In this study, the search data for the category of Korean herbal ingredients in the health food field of Naver Datalab shopping insight site was collected and sorted in order of frequency from August 1st, 2017 to June 22nd, 2022. The frequently searched keywords were organized based on the inclusion of Korean Pharmacopoeia (KP), Korean Herbal Pharmacopoeia (KHP), and Food Code. Results : 67,804 keywords were collected, and the most frequent keywords appearing for more than 200 days among the top 500 were 827 (1.184%). Among the frequent keywords, there were 149 keywords related to traditional medicine names included in the KP and KHP, and five prescriptions were included. 60 keywords were not included in the KP and KHP, and the keyword with the highest search frequency was "kujibbongnamu" (Maclura tricuspidata). Conclusions : The findings of this study provide information on the consumer's interest in traditional korean medicine (TKM) and natural products (NP), and can be used as a basis for understanding the demand for TKM and NP in the online shopping market.

야구에서 승률 추정은 매우 중요한 문제이며 현재 이 분야에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 쌍별 승률추정은 팀대 팀의 경기결과를 이용하여 전체 승률을 추정하는 방법으로써 각 팀들의 추정된 승률의 합이 상수가 된다는 타당성을 가진다. 본 연구에서는 한국프로야구에서 피타고라스 승률과 선형 승률에 쌍별 추정을 적용하고 효율성을 RMSE와 MAD를 이용하여 살펴보았다. 사용된 데이터는 2013년부터 2016년 사이의 모든 한국프로야구 팀대 팀 기록이며, 그 결과 쌍별 피타고라스 추정이 기존의 방법들보다 RMSE와 MAD 측면에서 바람직하다고 간주되었다. 또한 쌍별 피타고라스 추정에 사용되는 바람직한 지수 값의 결정에 대하여 설명하였으며 추정에 사용된 지수 값의 변화에 따른 RMSE와 MAD의 차이는 크지 않음을 알 수 있었다.

This paper focuses on a newly designed ice load formula based on the ARAON's 2016 Arctic field data in order to improve a structural design against ice loads. The strain gage signals from ARAON's hull plating were converted to the local ice pressure upon the hull plating using the influence coefficient matrix and finite element analysis. First, a traditional pressure-area relationship is derived by applying probabilistic approaches to handle the strains measured onboard the ARAON. Then, the local ice load prediction formula is re-analyzed after reviewing the ARAON's additional field data to consider information about the ship speed and thickness of the sea ice. It is shown that the newly developed pressure-area relationship well reflects the influence of other design parameters such as the ship speed and ice thickness in the prediction of local ice loads on Arctic vessels.

Prefabricated partially-encased composite (PEC) structural component is widely used in construction industry due to its superior structural performance and easy assembly characteristic. However, the solid web in traditional PEC components tends to split concrete into two halves, thus potentially reduces structural integrity and requires double concrete pouring. To overcome the above disadvantages, a new PEC beam with open-web π-shaped steel is proposed in this paper. Four open-web PEC beams with varying sectional height, flange thickness and web void rate were constructed and tested under flexural loads. During experimental tests, all beams exhibited typical flexural failure modes with strong moment capacities and excellent ductility. Owing to the unique construction form of web opening, steel-concrete bonding properties were enhanced and very small relative steel-concrete slips were observed. Experimental results also showed that the flexural capacity of such PEC beams increased with the increase of the sectional height and flange thickness, while was not affected by the web void rate. At last, a flexural capacity formula of the open-web PEC beam was proposed based on the whole section plastic rule. The formula results agreed well with experimental results.

In the hope of identifying anti-leukemic agents from traditional herbal medicines. this study was designed to investigate the anti-leukemic effects of the herbal medicine Jipaesan, which is composed of Angelica Dahurica and Fritillariae Verticillata. in acute promyeloid leukemia HL-60 cells. Jipaesan showed anti-proliferative effect through the induction of differentiation and apoptosis in HL -60 cells. Verticinone as a major differentiating agent and imperatorin as major apoptosis-inducing agent were isolated from the water extracts of F. Verticillata and A. Dahurica, respectively. Combined treatment of HL-60 cells with two major compounds showed synergy in the induction of differentiation. Since the induction of differentiation and/or apoptosis has therapeutic values in curing acute leukemic diseases. Jipaesan could be useful as an anti-leukemic agent.

In this paper a general analytical approach is proposed to analyse the nonlinear response of elastic cable under complex loads. The effect of temperature change on the cable is also considered. From the vertical equilibrium equations of cable, the general analytical formula of vertical displacement is derived. Based on the vertical displacement formula and on the compatibility condition of the cable, the dimensionless equation with respect to cable tension is established. By means of such analytical procedures, the exact solutions of various cable problems can be obtained quickly. The example given in this paper shows that the new procedure is efficient for practical analysis and can be easily implemented by a general computer program without the superposition problem which there has always been in traditional analytical methods.

Objectives : Xiaochaihutang(小柴胡湯) is a famous herbal prescription in the Traditional Korean Medicine, and its components include Bupleuri Radix(柴胡), Scutellariae Radix(黃芩), Ginseng Radix(人蔘), Pinelliae Tuber(半夏), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma(甘草), Zingiberis Rhizoma Crudus(生薑), Zizyphi Fructus(大棗). Methods : In this study, we reviewed the effects of xiaochaihutang by searching Pubmed. And we connected with Korean Standard Classification of Diseases (KCD) and the effects of xiaochaihutang. Results and Conclusion : The effects of xiaochaihutang was related with B18, C22, C34, C56, J30, J45, K70, K74, K76, F32, F33, F34, F41 as indicated by KCD. In clinics, the medical doctors almost use the KCD code for insurance. This review give us the scientific clue of Xiaochaihutang's effect in KCS system.

In order to find the new hepatoprotective agents preliminary screening of twelve prescriptions which have been used for the treatment of hepatic disease in Oriental traditional medicine has been carried out. Both DPPH free radical scavenging and hepatoprotective effect on tacrine-induced cytotoxicity in Hep G2 cells are performed. Osumokkya-tang which is one of the prescription belongs to interior-warming properties showed the DPPH free radical scavenging effect as well as hepatoprotective activity significantly. It is also suggested that its hepatoprotective effect is derived from Chaenomelis Fructus.
