노면에 접촉된 자동차 타이어의 응력 해석 (Stress Analysis of Automotive Tire at Contact on Road Surface)

  • This study is analyzed by stress contour of automotive tire at contact on road surface. Maximum equivalent stress as 61200Pa is shown on the lower mid part in case of tire contacted on road surface. As the air pressure of tire increases, maximum total deformation as 5mm is shown on the side part of tire. It can be shown that the side part of tire is unstabilized. There is no load effect on tire at its upper and lower directions. When the moment applied on the side of tire is increased 1.4 times as its value, the value of maximum principal stress is increased 1.4 times. The stress at the tire is in proportion to the moment applied on the its side. The tire tends to incline toward its side by this moment.

  • 최근 타이어에는 타이어의 정보를 알 수 있는 정보들이 다양하게 타이어 옆면에 표시되어 있다. 이러한 정보를 이용하는 사람들 및 타이어 관련 회사에서는 타이어의 옆면에 표시된 정보를 가지고 어떤 타이언지 구별을 하게 된다. 타이어의 규격 최대 허용 공기압, 제조일자 등을 일반적으로 사람이 직접 눈으로 봄으로서 이루어지고 있다. 이에 최근 영상 처리 기법을 이용하여 타이어 측면의 돌출 문자 인식을 통한 자동화의 연구가 꾸준히 발표 되고 있지만 문자 인식 및 인식의 개선에 대한 방법이 부족한 실정이다. 또한 기존의 옆면 문자 인식을 영상으로 취득 하는데, 취득시 조명 효과를 적절히 이용하더라도 배경과 문자 부분이 거의 유사간 그레이 레벨 값을 가지게 되어 비교적 분명하지 않은 부분이 많이 산재된다. 본 논문에서는 레이저 센서를 이용한 타이어 옆면 문자를 확인하고 인식, 타이어 옆면의 문자 인식에 관하여 설계를 하였다.

  • Tire labeling is an important issue to reduce $CO_2$ and to secure the safety of tire/vehicle on wet road. A basic study on the effects of tire basic stiffness design on tire labeling performance has been done through experimental test. The pass-by noise is affected by tire structural design. The tire with lower side part stiffness and lower tread part stiffness has the lowest PBN level and the best wet grip. And the tire with higher tread part stiffness and higher side part stiffness has the better RR performance. Also it is observed that the trade-off between RR and wet grip exists for various tire stiffness design.

  • The demands for vehicle safety systems such as ABS and ESC have been increased. Accurate vehicle state estimation is required to realized the abovementioned systems and tire-friction coefficient is crucial information. Estimation of lateral tire-road friction coefficient using pneumatic trail information is mainly dealt in this paper. Pneumatic trail shows unique characteristics according to the wheel side slip angle and these property is highly sensitive to vehicle lateral motion. The proposed algorithm minimizes the use of conventional tire models such as magic formula, brushed tire model and Dugoff tire model. The pure side slip maneuver, which means no longitudinal dynamics, is assumed to achieve the ultimate goal of this paper. A simulation verification using Carsim and Simulink is performed and the results show the feasibility of the proposed algorithms.

  • As the needs of consumer on ride comforts increase and the reduction of road traffic noise tightened step by step, the power unit noise emitted by cars has been reduced. It has been found that tire noise dominates noise produced by the power-train when vehicles are driven at high speeds. Therefore, in these days, tire/pavement noise is concerned. Tire/pavement noise is affected by pavement type and vehicle???s transmission loss. Tire noise mechanism is produced by several mechanisms. The sound of tire can propagate either through the air or through the structure of vehicle. Pattern noise is the result of pressure variations through the air to the interior side of vehicle. Especially, on smooth asphalt the periodicity of tread design, pitch sequence is important factor, which have an influence on the reduction of tire noise.

  • In this paper, This work demonstrates a experimental evaluation for vehicle road noise NVH performance from the component-level NVH measurements of Tire. The power unit noise from tire emitted by cars has been reduced. It has been found that tire noise dominates noise produced by the power train when vehicles are driven at high constant speed. Therefore tire pattern noise is affected by pattern and vehicle and transmission loss. Tire noise mechanism is generated by several mechanisms.   • The current flat type side slip tester measures only the total side slip. Therefore, measurement techniques which can be used to determine the side slip for each alignment element were examined. Because the side slip related to the camber angle varies depending on the unit load per travel wheel while the side slip related to the toe angle does not on the unit per travel wheel, but depends only on the direction of the tire, the side slip for each alignment element can be determined separately.

타이어 사이드판의 문자 가공을 위한 4축 가공 시스템 (A 4-axis NC Lettering System for the Side-wall of the Automobile Tire)

  • The letters of the automobile tire are usually engraved on the side-wall. The shape of the side-wall is a sculptured surface generated by the rotational sweeping of a profile curve. The letters laid on the side-wall are usually designed by a 2-dimensional CAD. It is impossible to machine the letters on the surface accurately by 3-axis NC machining, because the axis of cutter should be tilted to align with the normal vector of the surface. In this case. the degree of freedom for the machine is at least four. This paper describes an idea for tool path generation of a 4-axis machine by using the 2-dimensional CAD data of the letters and the surface of the side-wall. This study includes the following procedures; (1) measuring the profile of the side-wall surface and curve-fitting of the measured points. (2) the 'non-parallel projection' of the letters on the side-wall, and (3) an inverse kinematics of the 4-axis lettering machine. Procedures in this paper are programmed in C-language on Windows95 environment. With a PC based CNC controller and a 4-axis lettering machine. these are tested sucessfully for the practical use.

  • When the vehicle is traveling, the deformation caused by friction continued with the ground is made to occur because the tire is the composite material of a viscoelastic. Part of the deformation energy is converted into heat energy as Hysteresis and temperature inside the tire rises. The generated heat is shed to the outside through the convection and evangelism. Increase in the internal temperature of the tire is difficult to ensure the safety of vehicle by damage to the tire during driving. Recently, Even when the tire is damaged, it is designed to be possible to driving in case of run-flat tires but the fact is that the development of the technology for the synergistic effect of heat release inside the tire by the side reinforcement is necessary. In this study, by using the Finite Element Method (FEM), applying the cooling fins to the tire sidewall, it is intended to check the temperature distribution along the shape of the cooling fins and the temperature reduction effect.

  • This paper presents the problem of automatically recognizing embossed or molded characters which are raised from the side wall on rubber tire. In the tire image objects have approximately the same gray-value as the background and because of the tire geometry, illumination of the surface is nonhomogenous. Therefore it is difficult to recognize the raised tire character. In this paper, for describing the process of processing three steps have been proposed: 1) MIN & MAX smoothing operation filter, 2) edge detection algorithm using modified laplacian operator, 3) noise rejection. Afterwards, segmentation is done to attain characters from tire image by projection method. The recognition of the characters in the segmented image is carried out by using multilayered neural network, which is insensitive to the noise.
