  • This paper explains tile IP over SONET/SDH that becomes nowadays one of the compelling candidates for building tile next generation IP backbone networks. First we introduce the protocol stack and tile related protocols of IP over SONET/SDH and explain the new scrambling technique using 1+X$^{43}$ scrambler since the legacy scrambler could be vulnerable by malicious users. And we compare tile IP over SONET/SDH with the IP over ATM that has long been a strong candidate for future IP backbone networks and we recommend that the optimal choice for the IP backbone should lie considered based on the merits and demerits of each technology.

  • A physically based model for rainfall-runoff simulation in agricultural watersheds equipped with tile drains is developed from the TOPMODEL framework. The model is based on detailed topographical information provided by the Digital Elevation Model (DEM), which is available in the Geographic Information System GRASS. Nine possible flow generation scenarions are suggested and used in the development of the model. The storage and delaying effects in the soil matrix and in the tile system are simulated with a second order linear reservoir. The model can identify the portions of the hydrators resulting from tile flow, subsurface flow and surface runoff.

  • A physically based model for rainfall runoff simulation in agricultural watershed equipped with tile drains is presented. This model is developed from the TOPMODEL which is based on the detailed topographic information provided by Digital Elevation Model (DEM). Nine possible flow generation scenarios in the tile drained basin are suggested and used in the development of the model. The model can identify the portions of the hydrograph resulting from tile flow, subsurface flow and surface flow. The performance of the model is assessed through a calibration and validation process. The results of the analysis show that the model describes the physical system well and provides a better insight into the hillslope hydrology of agricultural watersheds with tile drainage.

  • This study is focused on fellowing two issues for simulating colored paper mosaic. The first one is paper tile generation, and the other one is arrangement. At first we define the paper data as two layered polygon. Then, generate paper tile from paper data, and attach it on the best location of canvas according to energy value. The proposed method in this study has some benefits like follow. First, we can obtain more natural shaped paper tile because the phase is similar to real process of fearing paper. Second, if we redefine the structure of paper like newspaper, magazine and so on, the result can be generated with the variable type of paper. And lastly, by adjusting parameters of energy function, we can control the position of the torn paper.

  • High-pixel-density displays are now under development to meet the needs of next-generation mobile devices; methods to more efficiently build such displays are described. Displays based on subpixel rendering and RGBW technologies, known as PenTile $Matrix^{TM}$ RGBW, are shown to offer the best approach to meeting the demanding requirements of low manufacturing cost, high brightness, and low power.

  • The spectral and temporal characteristics of a V-groove AIGaAs-GaAs quantum wire (QWR) laser were investigated with varying the cavity length. At cavity lengths shorter than 300 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, a discrete shift in tile wavelength occurred from the n=1 to the n=2 subband due to the increased cavity losses. Utilizing this characteristic, ultrafast lasing characteristics at each subband were investigated by tile gain switching method.

  • We proposed the method for photomosaic generation using a programmable GPU. We design vertices to generate a photomosaic through a graphics pipeline and suggest a texture representation of an image database whice is used for tile. Both the source image and the tiles are stored to texture, which are matched by a vertex shader and drawn by a fragment shader. This is much faster than several techniques which achieve the best match for each tile.

  • Mosaic is to make a big image by gathering lots of small materials having various colors. With advance of digital imaging techniques, photomosaic techniques using photos are widely used. In this paper, we presents an automatic photomosaic algorithm based on adaptive tiling and block matching. The proposed algorithm is composed of two processes: photo database generation and photomosaic generation. Photo database is a set of photos (or tiles) used for mosaic, where a tile is divided into $4{\times}4$ regions and the average RGB value of each region is the feature of the tile. Photomosaic generation is composed of 4 steps: feature extraction, adaptive tiling, block matching, and intensity adjustment. In feature extraction, the feature of each block is calculated after the image is splitted into the preset size of blocks. In adaptive tiling, the blocks having similar similarities are merged. Then, the blocks are compared with tiles in photo database by comparing euclidean distance as a similarity measure in block matching. Finally, in intensity adjustment, the intensity of the matched tile is replaced as that of the block to increase the similarity between the tile and the block. Also, a tile redundancy minimization scheme of adjacent blocks is applied to enhance the quality of mosaic photos. In comparison with Andrea mosaic software, the proposed algorithm outperforms in quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • With Increasing importance of electroless nickel plating technology in many fields such as electronic and automobile industries, the treatment of the spent baths is becoming a serious problem. These spent baths contain iron and zinc as impurities, organic acids as complexing reagents, and phosphonate ions as oxidized species of tile reducing reagent. as well as several grams per liter of nickel. The spent baths are currently treated by conventional precipitation method. but a mettled with no sludge generation is desired. This work aims at establishing a recycling process of nickel from tile spent baths using solvent extraction. Extraction behaviors of nickel. iron. and zinc in various 쇼pes of real spent baths are investigated as a function of pH using LIX841, di (2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (D2EHPA), and PC88A as tile extractants. Nickel is extracted by LIX84I at the equilibrium pH of more than 6 with high efficiency. For the weakly acid baths. iron and zinc are extracted by D2EHPA or PC88A without adjusting the pH of the baths leaving nickel in the aqueous phase. Stripping of nickel from LIX84I with sulfuric acid is also investigated. It is shown that concentrated nickel sulfate solution (> 100 ㎏-Ni/㎥) is obtained. This solution can be reused in the electroless plating process. Based on these findings, flow sheets for recovering nickel from the spent baths are proposed.
