  • In this paper, the limiting characteristics of the fault current in a power system with a superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) applied into neutral line of main transformer in a distribution power line were analyzed. The SFCL applied into the neutral line of main transformer power system can limit the unsymmetrical fault current from the single-line ground fault or the double-line ground fault. In addition, it could be decreased a number of SFCL and a load. This method could be expected to reduction of a power loss in the neutral line, because of a neutral line current is zero in ordinary times.

  • This paper presents a dynamic model of 2-D magnetostriction in electrical steel sheet (ESS) under rotating flux magnetization conditions and its implementation in finite element method (FEM). For an arbitrary waveform of magnetic flux density (B), the corresponding magnetostriction waveform can be predicted by the model. In order to apply the model to FEM easily, the model is based on trilinear interpolation method. As an example, the model is applied to a three-phase transformer constructed by highly grain-oriented electrical steel sheets and the numerical results by the magnetostriction model are discussed.

  • This paper proposes an estimation algorithm for the separate primary and secondary leakage inductances of a three phase $Y-\Delta$ transformer using least squares method. The voltage equations from the primary and secondary windings are combined into a differential equation to estimate the separate primary and secondary leakage inductances in order to use the line current of the delta winding. Separate primary and secondary leakage inductances are obtained by applying least squares method to the differential equation. The performance of the proposed algorithm is validated under transient states, such as magnetic inrush and overexcitation, as well as in the steady state with various cut-off frequencies of low-pass filter. The proposed technique can accurately generate separate leakage inductances both in the steady and transient states.

  • This paper presents results of frequency domain spectroscopy (FDS) measurements on oil-impregnated pressboard insulation, their analyses and use of the data for modeling high frequency response (FRA) of transformers. The dielectric responses were measured in a broad frequency range, i.e. from 0.1 mHz to 1 MHz, on model samples containing different amount of moisture. The responses were parameterized with terms representing dc conductivity, low frequency dispersion and Cole-Cole polarization mechanisms and they were thereafter used to model the FRA response of a three-phase transformer.

  • This study proposes a new method to estimate voltage unbalance more exactly using Thevenin's equivalent circuit. The conventional simple formula were easily applied to evaluate voltage unbalance. Because the formula was derived on the assumption that traction load would be directly connected to the secondary windings of the main transformer, they could not consider the detailed characteristics of traction power supply system, for example, self and mutual impedances of rail, catenary and return feeder. So, the ac쳐racy of the results could not be guaranteed. The proposed algorithm is applied to a standard autotransformer-fed test system to analyze unbalance phenomena. Through simulations, we could evaluate voltage and current unbalance factors and compare the voltage unbalance of the three transformer connection schemes : single phase, V- and Scott-connections which are required for suitable train operation schedules. Additionally, we could determine the combinations of trains which can be operated under the unbalance factor limits.

Main transformer, at nominal voltage of 25kv supplied to secondary winding nominal output Voltage 383Vac, The Auxiliary block consists of AC-DC converters for generating 670VDC power, Auxiliary inverters for ventilation and air compressor, Trailer car inverter provide three phase power supplies at 440Vac for air conditioning and heating. The Battery charger Trailer and Power car supplies 72VDC all necessary equipment to energize the trainset equipment and suppy essential control. This Paper introduces the combined test results of the power supply system for korea high speed train. The main purpose of this combined test is to verify the performance of the power supply system that is designed to operate up to full load test.

  • This paper describes an effort to develop a microcomputer-based parameter identification system for three phase and two phase brushless DC motor. Back EMF equation is derived from back EMF waveform of three phase and two phase brushless DC motor. In this paper, a new identification algorithm for the brushless DC motor parameters by Pasek's technique is de veloped. It is found that Pasek's equation is valid for the brushless DC motor, too. The results obtained clearly shows that it is possible to implement the identification system for the determination of the brushless DC motor parameters. To minimize errors due to the ripple component in the measured armature current, dlgital averaging filter is employed. The whole identification process of signal generation, measuring, parameter determination is fully automated. The use of the pmpased method in the parameter identification system shows that the averaged current curve is in excellent agreement with the estimated current curve. Therefore, this close agreement conf i i the validity of this technique.

  • Thin paper proposes a new three-phase rectifier that actively shapes the input current sinusoidal by means of two rectifier bridges, each followed by a dc-dc boost converter. The proposed approach draws sinusoidal input current at unity power factor and has output voltage regulation capability The size and weight of magnetic material Is reduced by Incorporating a low KVA three-phase autotransformer and by directly connecting the dc outputs each other without using low frequency interphase transformer(IPT). The operation principle is described along with simple control method, and experimental results on a 1.5KW prototype are provided.

  • For a solid-state transformer (SST), some factors, such as signal delay, switching loss and differences in the system parameters, lead to unbalanced DC-link voltages among the cascaded H-bridges (CHB). With a control method implemented in the ${\alpha}{\beta}$ frame, the DC-link voltages are balanced, and the reactive power is equally distributed among all of the H-bridges. Based on the ${\alpha}{\beta}$ frame control, the system can achieve independent active current and reactive current control. In addition, the control method of the high-voltage stage is easy to implement without decoupling or a phase-locked loop. Furthermore, the method can eliminate additional current delays during transients and get the dynamic response rapidly without an imaginary current component. In order to carry out the controller design, the vector refactoring relations that are used to balance DC-link voltages are derived. Different strategies are discussed and simulated under the unbalanced load condition. Finally, a three-cell CHB rectifier is constructed to conduct further research, and the steady and transient experimental results verify the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method.

  • A simple single-stage AC/DC forward converter with transformer magnetic energy feedback technique for power factor correction is proposed. The operational principle of the proposed converter is presented. The proposed converter gives the good power factor correction, low line current harmonic distortions, and tight output voltage regulation. The prototype shows high power factor with low line current harmonics.
