The Aluminum conductor composite core consists of fast-curing thermosetting epoxy used as reinforcements and carbon fiber and glass fiber used as matrix. In this study, we have investigated fast curing epoxy cured products used for composite core(Aluminum Conductor Composite Core, ACCC). Tetrafunctional epoxy(PA 806) was used as a multifunctional epoxy, along with two kinds of curing agents, MNAn(5-Methyl-5-norbornene-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride) and HHPA(Hexahydrophthalic Anhydride), to make an epoxy cured product and their properties were evaluated. Optimum conditions are confirmed by varying the content of curing accelerator in the selected epoxy and curing agent.

Recently, CFRP composites are widely used as lightweight materials have with excellent mechanical properties and can beare widely used in various fields. In general, thermosetting resins are used for CFRP. However, in recent years, studies have been carried out using thermoplastic resins have been actively carried out to overcome the disadvantages of thermosetting resins. The LFT-D system is a molding method in which a fiber is directly cut to a the desired length while being impregnated with a thermoplastic resin to produce a compound and that is then press-molding molded to form the product. In this paper, before the production of the trailing arm, the compression molding analysis was carried out in order to grasp the problems that may occur during production. Through cCompression molding analysis was applied to calculate of the minimum press pressure and to compare and analysis analyze the molding conditions characteristic required to formfor forming the trailing arm.

Carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) composite materials have been widely used in various industrial fields because the design variables can be adjusted according to the application of the required structure. Thermosetting and thermoplastic resins are used as the base materials of CFRP composites for the lightweight construction of automotive components. Thermoplastics have several advantages such as no curing and recyclability compared to thermosetting resin. In this study, CFRP composites were made using the Long-Fiber Thermoplastic-Direct (LFT-D) process. The LFT-D process includes an in-line production system that directly impregnates a thermoplastic resin, extrudes the composite material, and molds it. This process increases the strength and decreases the molding time. The tensile strength characteristics on the mechanical properties of CFRP were analyzed according to the parameters of LFT-D based on thermoplastics. To analyze the properties of CFRP, the specimens were prepared based on the tensile test standard ASTM 3039 of composite materials.

Due to its low density, good mechanical properties and chemical inertness, glassy carbon(GC) has been studied for appications in several fields. A raw thermosetting resin of furanic resin was polymerized with a curing agent of p-toluenesulfonic acid monohydrate. The maximum yield of GC was obtained at the curing agent content of 1.0 wt% in furanic resin. In order to make thick GC, the affect of graphite filler addition to the furanic resin was investigated. The density and electrical resitivity of GC after graphitization were 1.45 $g/cm^{3}$ and 47 ${\times}10^{-4}$${\Omega}$${\cdot}$ cm respectively and the amorphous structure of GC was confirmed by XRD profiles with very broad peaks comparable to those of graphite at $206^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$.
Recently, the amount of thermosetting plastic wastes have increased with the production of reinforced plastic composites and causes serious environmental problems. The epoxy composites, one of the versatile thermosetting plastics with excellent properties, cannot be melted down and remolded as what is done in the thermoplastic industry. In this research, a series of experiments that recovers carbon fibers from carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composites for train body was performed. We experimentally examined various decomposition processes and compared their decomposition efficiencies and mechanical property of recovered carbon fibers. For the prevention of tangle of recovered carbon fibers, each composites specimen was fixed with a Teflon supporter and no mechanical mixing was applied. Decomposition products were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), gas chromatography mass spectrometer (GC-MS), and universal testing machine (UTM). Carbon fibers could be completely recovered from decomposition process using nitric acid aqueous solution, liquid-phase thermal cracking and pyrolysis. The tensile strength losses of the recovered carbon fibers were less than 4%.

Recently, the applications of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRPs) have become broader than ever when it comes to such industries as automotive, ships, aerospace and military because of their lightweight-ness and high mechanical properties. Thermosetting plastics like epoxy are frequently used as the binding matrix in CFRPs due to their high hardness, wetting characteristics and low viscosity. However, they cannot melted and remolded. For this reason, thermosetting plastic wastes have caused serious environmental problems with the production of fiber reinforced plastics. Thus, many studies have focused on the carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastics (CFRTPs) and recycling carbon fiber. In this study, recycled carbon fiber (RCF) was prepared from CFRPs using a pyrolysis method, which was employed to separate resin and carbon fiber. The degree of decomposition for epoxy resin was confirmed from thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The RCF was cut and ground to prepare a carbon fiber composite sheet (CFCS). CFCS was manufactured by applying recycled carbon fibers and various thermoplastic fibers. Various characterizations were performed, including morphological analyses of surface and cross-section, mechanical properties, and crystallization enthalpy of CFCS at different cooling conditions.

Phenolic resin has excellent heat resistance and good mechanical properties as a thermosetting resin. However, its thermosetting characteristics cause it to produce a non-recyclable waste in the form of sprue and runner which is discarded and represents up to 15~20% of the overall products. Forty thousand tons of phenolic resin sprue and runner are disposed of (annually). The (annual) cost of such domestic waste disposal is calculated to be 20 billion won. In this study, discarded phenol resin scraps were pulverized and treated by silanes to improve their interfacial adhesion with HDPE. The sizes of the pulverized pulverulent bodies and fine particles were (100um~1000um) and (1~100um), respectively. The pulverized phenol resin was treated with 3-(methacryloyloxy) propyltrimethoxysilane and vinyltrimethoxy silane and the changes in its characteristics were evaluated. The thermal properties were evaluated by DSC and HDT. The mechanical properties were assessed by a notched Izod impact strength tester. When the silane treated phenol resin was added, the heat distortion temperature of HDPE increased from $77^{\circ}C$ to $96^{\circ}C$ and its crystallinity and crystallization temperature also increased. Finally, its impact strength and tensile strength increased by 20% and 50%, respectively, in comparison with the non-treated phenol resin.

Among the defect factors that can occur when a wafer-level lens is molded using a thermosetting material, the mold sticking problem of a molded lens during the release process can damage the molded substrate and deform the substrate at the wafer level. An experiment was conducted to examine the factors affecting the demolding force in the lens forming process. The demolding force was examined according to the coating material of the molds. The mold was surface-treated with ITO and Ti, followed by plasma treatment in an O2 atmosphere. A DLC coating was then performed, and the curing and releasability were examined. A coating method for the pull-off experiment was selected based on the results. To measure the demolding force according to the curing process conditions, a method of curing at a constant pressure and a method of curing at a constant position were applied. As a result, the TiO2 surface treatment reduced the release force. When cured by controlling the location, curing shrinkage can reduce the adhesion energy of the interface during curing, resulting in better demolding.
