Synthesis of lossy tapered transmission line (손실을 갖는 테이퍼 전송선로의 합성)

  • A new method is presented for the synthesis of lossy tapered transmission line having presecribed frequency characteristic in the passband. The theory of lossy case extends lossless cases suggested by Klopfenstein and others, and a special optimization process based on the Fourier transfrom pair and generalized Taylor's procedure is proposed for exact designs of frequency-dependent and distance-dependent lossy tapered line. The process is achieved by control of zero points of lobe-like input reflection coefficient. The validity of the suggested method is confirmed by synthesizing a lossy microstrip transformer and analyzing the simulation results.

  • Game theory is adapted to a variety of domains such as economics, biology, engineering, political science, computer science, and philosophy in order to analyze economic behaviors. This research is an application of game theory to wireless communication. In particular, in terms of bargaining game we dealt with a multimedia resource allocation problem in wireless communication, which is rapidly spreading such as Wibro, WCDML, IPTV, etc. The algorithm is assumed to allocate multimedia resources to users who can choose and access differentiated media services. For this purpose, 3 utility function of users is devised to reflect quality of service (QoS) and price. We illustrated experimental results with synthesis data which were made to mimic real multimedia data, and analyzed differentiated service providing and the effect of the utility function.

  • This paper will describe the application of variable structure control theory to the first order dynamic system and verify its robustness. The study on the first order dynamic system control which has been essential part for the control of servo motor (AC,DC) systems has been excluded in the study of variable structure control system(VSCS) because this first order system was not applicable to the previous variable structure control theory. So, for the robustness control of first order dynamic system with variable structure control theory, we propose modified switching function synthesis which guarantees the advantages of conventional VSCS and removes reaching phase which is regarded as shortcomings in VSCS. And we demonstrate the practical potential of implementation about this theory by simulation results of AC motor variable speed control.

  • Many researchers have been investigating the design of multi-mode absorption vibration absorber for multi degree-of-freedom (DOF) system. The approach taken to this problem has been to find the optimized constants of stiffness and damping for the given set of single-DOF absorbers or single multi-DOF absorber attached to a multi degree-of-freedom system. This paper presents a novel geometrical and direct design theory of a 6 DOF vibration absorber via screw theory. Theoretical development is demonstrated by a practical example in which the diagonal stiffness matrix is synthesized using rectangular configuration of springs. The performance of this absorber is simulated by modal analysis.

  • The kinematic synthesis deals with the systematic design of mechanisms for a given performance. The area of synthesis may be grouped into two categories to determine the type and to size the dimensions of a mechanism for a specified task. In this paper, using a database of mechanisms a designer can determine the type of mechanism conveniently and design equations are automatically generated for a given input performance. The solving method of design equations utilizes an optimization routine to obtain roots effectively. The linkages of 4, 6, and 8bars with revolute joints are considered in this study but may be extended to linkages of more bars.

  • The paper presents problems of optimization of the synthesis of embedded systems, in particular Pareto optimization. The model of such a system for its design for high-level of abstract is based on the classic approach known from the theory of task scheduling, but it is significantly extended, among others, by the characteristics of tasks and resources as well as additional criteria of optimal system in scope structure and operation. The metaheuristic algorithm operating according to this model introduces a new approach to system synthesis, in which parallelism of task scheduling and resources partition is applied. An algorithm based on a genetic approach with simulated annealing and Boltzmann tournaments, avoids local minima and generates optimized solutions. Such a synthesis is based on the implementation of task scheduling, resources identification and partition, allocation of tasks and resources and ultimately on the optimization of the designed system in accordance with the optimization criteria regarding cost of implementation, execution speed of processes and energy consumption by the system during operation. This paper presents examples and results for multi-criteria optimization, based on calculations for specifying non-dominated solutions and indicating a subset of Pareto solutions in the space of all solutions.

  • In this study, in order to perform dynamic design of machine tools reasonably and effectively, a method was formulated to be applicable to the structures connected by joints having elasticity and damping by using substructure synthesis method. And to analyze chatter-free performance, a 3 dimensional cutting dynamics theory was used. Computer program package for the dynamic design of machine tools was developed by combining those and spplied to improvement of performance of NC lathe. Also, the optimization in the structural modifications of machine tool substructure was studied by evaluating the effects of the substructural modifications on total system performance.

  • This paper presented to design a robust turbo-generator control system using {{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control synthesis for improving small-signal stability. Application study of{{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control synthesis is more appropriate in this system since a turbo-generator system is usually operated under circumstance of unmeasurable modelling uncertainty and external disturbance. The{{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control theory was briefly reviewed for good understanding and the reasonable approach. The design results are simulated for a case study and to check the system performance in comparison with currently operating Lead/Lag filtered PSS performance.
