  • Base Isolation system is an effective design strategy that provides a practical substitute for the seismic design of bridge. In this study, the dynamic tests was performed on HDB (Hysteretic Damping Bearing) and Dynapot. Then, the dynamic analysis was carried out for a bridge using the experimental results to estimate the seismic performance of bearings. Analysis for bridge was performed for four types of earthquake loadings. The result of dynamic test and theoretical analysis indicate that the performance of HDB and Dynapot is appropriate for the earthquake loading.

  • The purpose of this paper is to help those who research and develop solar cells in university laboratories and industrial sites understand the most basic and important quantum efficiency measurement and analysis method in analyzing solar cell performance. Starting with the definition of quantum efficiency, we calculate the theoretical current density according to the band gap of the solar cell material from the solar spectrum, along with a detailed introduction to the measurement and analysis methods, and measure and analyze the theoretical current density and quantum efficiency. We discuss in depth how to analyze the performance of solar cells through Quantum efficiency measurement and analysis of solar cells is a very useful method that can give intuition to solar cell performance analysis as it can analyze solar cells according to depth (front emitter, bulk, rear surface). Students and researchers who study solar cells with a deep understanding of theoretical current density and quantum efficiency measurement analysis are expected to use it as a basis for analyzing solar cell performance.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to clarify the causal relationship and correlation between audit quality and audit performance and to analyze theoretical discussions and actual facts in order to improve audit performance on public enterprise audit and to identify what factors contribute to management and to seek ways to secure business performance. Methods: In this study, theoretical consideration was conducted that concerned the definition of audit, the concept of internal audit, the audit quality and the audit performance after having considered advanced researches, related regulations, and literatures. Through the foundation of such theoretical consideration, the components of the audit quality were deducted and each component's impact on the audit performance was empirically proven. The collected data through the survey were analyzed using multi-regression analysis. The measurement tools used for this study were divided into three dimensions such as internal quality, interaction quality and environmental quality. Result: First remark, out of the various components of the audit quality, independence, professionalism, and empathy appear to positively impact the audit degree of satisfaction. However, the measure of sufficiency is shown to bear no correlation to the audit degree of satisfaction. Second, out of the various components of the audit quality, professionalism, sufficiency, and empathy appear to positively impact the audit degree of applicability. However, the measure of independence is shown to bear no correlation to the audit degree of applicability. Third, audit quality appears to positively impact the audit degree of satisfaction and applicability, and also the performance of management. Concusion: It appears that the audit quality positively impacts the audit degree of satisfaction, applicability and management performance indicated by the audit performance.

  • If one wants to control the noise from a duct, then one must have sufficient number of sensors and actuators so that the control system is observable and controllable. A number of sensors and actuators for control of radiating noise from a duct have to be incorporated with the number of modes which one wants to control. These considerations motivated the present study that considers a control system which has less microphones and actuators than required. In this work, by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the control performance and robust reliability of such a kind of control system is investigated in terms of sound-field variables and control system variables. Then the possibility of implementation of the robust radiation power control system is verified by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. In addition, the control performance of the control system is verified by experiment.

  • Although there have been many investigations employing the continuous wavelet transform for the analysis of dispersive waves, they seem to lack theoretical justifications for the effectiveness of the continuous wavelet transform over other time-frequency analysis tools such as the short-time Fourier transform. The goal of this paper is to answer this question by investigating theoretically the performance of the continuous wavelet transform and the short-time Fourier transform in tracing rapidly time-varying flexural waves. As a specific example, the performance of the two transforms is compared in a problem dealing with flexural waves generated by an impact in a solid circular cylinder.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the operational performances by the investment level of information security in companies. The theoretical background summarized the meaning of information security, management information security, and network security. The research process was carried out in four stages. As a result of the analysis, the level of information security was classified into four groups, and the difference in operational performance was confirmed. According to the categorical regression analysis of the three dependent variables, independent variables such as network threats, non-network threats, executive information security awareness, industry, organizational size, and information security education all affected information security regulations, in-house information security checks, and information security budget investments. The theoretical implications of this study have contributed to updating the latest information security theory. Practical implications are that rational investments should be made on the level of information security of companies.

  • In this paper, we study structural changes and performance gains in condition-based maintenance process redesign when mobile IoT technology is embedded into urban railway rolling stock. We first develop condition-based maintenance To-Be process model in accordance with the IoT deployment scheme. Secondly, we draw upon theoretical framework of redesign process analysis to develop performance evaluation method suitable to predictive maintenance shift from As-Is ordinary maintenance practice. Subsequently, To-Be process performance evaluations are conducted adopting both the quantitative and qualitative method for time, cost, and dependability dimensions. The results ascertain the considerable benefits captured through detection abnormality prior to actual rolling stock failure occurrence, and details of performance improvements and enhancement of standardization level is revealed. The procedures and results presented in this paper offers useful insights in the fields of IoT economic analysis, condition based maintenance, and business process redesign.

  • In this paper, the performance of precoding-aided differential spatial modulation (PDSM) systems with optimal transmit antenna subset (TAS) selection is examined analytically. The average bit error rate (ABER) performance of the optimal TAS selection-based PDSM systems using a zero-forcing (ZF) precoder is evaluated using theoretical upper bound and Monte Carlo simulations. Simulation results validate the analysis and demonstrate a performance penalty < 2.6 dB compared with precoding-aided spatial modulation (PSM) with optimal TAS selection. The performance analysis reveals a transmit diversity gain of (NT-NR+1) for the ZF-based PDSM (ZF-PDSM) systems that employ TAS selection with NT transmit antennas, NS selected transmit antennas, and NR receive antennas. It is also shown that reducing the number of activated transmit antennas via optimal TAS selection in the ZF-PDSM systems degrades ABER performance. In addition, the impacts of channel estimation errors on the performance of the ZF-PDSM system with TAS selection are evaluated, and the performance of this system is compared with that of ZF-based PSM with TAS selection.

  • Nozzleless booster is one of the applicable components for integral rocket ramjet (IRR). In order to predict nozzleless solid booster performance, the simplified theoretical analysis was applied for L/D=5, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 13. Al-HTPB and Zr-HTPB propellant with a high metal content were used to increase the hardness because of the combustion gas flow effect. It was found that the trends between the simplified theoretical analysis and experiments were similar.
