  • In this paper, the formal linearization method is used to construct multisoliton solutions for three model of shallow water waves equations. The three models are completely integrable. The formal linearization method is an efficient method for obtaining exact multisoliton solutions of nonlinear partial differential equations. The method can be applied to nonintegrable equations as well as to integrable ones.

  • In this paper we study steady capillary-gravity waves in a two-layer fluid bounded above by a free surface and below by a horizontal rigid boundary with a small obstruction, Two critical speeds for the waves are obtained. Near the smaller critical speed, the derivation of the usual forced KdV equation (FKdV) fails when the coefficient of the nonlinear term in the FKdV vanishes. To overcome this difficulty, a new equation called a forced extended KdV equation (FEKdV) governing interfacial wave forms is obtained by a refined asymptotic method. Various solutions and numerical results of this equation are presented.

  • A model for reflection and refraction of magneto-thermoelastic SV-waves at the interface of two transversely isotropic and homogeneous solid half spaces under initial stress by applying classical dynamical theory of thermoelasticity is purposed. The reflection and refraction coefficients of SV-waves are obtained with ideal boundary conditions for SV-wave incident on the solid-solid interface. The effects of magnetic field, temperature and initial stress on the amplitude ratios after numerical computations are shown graphically with MATLAB software for the particular model.

  • Wave nonlinearity and dispersivity have mutually counteracting effects on the wave evolution process; i.e., the former makes the wave profile steeper, while the latter milder. Therefore to describe evolution of nonlinear water waves under general condition such as nonlinear random waves over arbitrary depths, both the wave nonlinearity and dispersivity must be properly taken into account in the wave modeling.   • Visualization has played an essential role in the development of our understanding of the complex unsteady flows associated with the initiation, propagation, and extinction of detonation waves. These methods and application to various aspects of detonation are illustrated by results obtained in my laboratory, particularly using combinations of the PLIF technique with other methods. Examples shown will include detonation initiation by projectiles, diffraction over ramps and steps, diffraction out of tubes, detonation implosion, and the cellular structure of detonation waves.

  • If a point impulse travels over free surface of water of finite depth, surface waves consist of divergent waves. The crestlines of those divergent waves are short and end on the cusp line if the impulse travels at a subcritical speed. But the crestlines become infinitely long and there are no cusps if the impulse travels at a supercritical speed.

  • Rayleigh waves which has more than 70% of the total seismic energy is the principal component of ground roll. Frequency component of a surface wave has a different propagation velocity, that is, phase velocity, which results in a different wavelength called dispersion. Rayleigh wave is one of the most common ways to use the dispersive properties of surface waves. MASW is a seismic method to evaluate shear-wave velocity information of the ground.

  • A numerical investigation was made to examine characteristics of rectangular pontoon type floating breakwaters in oblique waves. Sway and heave wave exciting forces, roll moment acting on the floating breakwater and three motion reponses decrease as the incident wave angle increases for the most of the wave ranges. There exists a minimum wave transmission coefficient which is a function of wave frequency. In short wave range wave transmission coefficient increases as the incident wave angle increases. In long wave range, however, wave transmission coefficient decreases as the wave incident angle increases.

  • Hyper-Connected Society means the society that can network between human and human, human and devise, and devise and device transcending time and space. Therefore, the expansion of spectrum resources to provide wireless communications service is our most urgent task. So, radio waves act was amended recently. But, it take effort for drastic expansion of license-exempt spectrum, realization of spectrum usage liberalization, and rational improvement of the legal system that is separated the grant of spectrum and the grant of license to be accomplished. Therefore, this paper proposes amendment to radio waves act for joint use of radio frequencies and unified licenses.

  • In general, the dam break problem is demonstrated to simulate open-channel disturbance due to large violent waves. These days, the large violent waves at shore and coastline can be seen frequently such like tsunami. The conventional computational fluid dynamics program based on Grid system, can be used to simulate this problem with large deformation of free surface in the restricted condition due to its limitation. The particle method based on fully Lagrangian approach is able to simulate large deformation of free surface by tracking each particles. In this study, the simulation of disturbance of mobile-bed due to large violent waves was investigated by using particle method.
