This study examined the factors influencing the intention to use smartwatches using the integrated model of technology acceptance model (TAM) and innovation diffusion theory (IDT). An online survey was conducted and the data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that the research model had an acceptable fit, and all paths, except for the one from the perceived ease of use to the intention to use, were supported. Regarding paths from IDT to TAM, it was observed that higher the compatibility, the users perceived greater usefulness. Additionally, both observability and trialability influenced the perceived ease of use. However, perceived ease of use affected the intention only through the mediated effect of perceived usefulness. The implication of the study lies on the major focus on the effects of users' perceptions regarding innovative characteristics of smartwatches on the intention to adopt and attempted to increase the explanatory power of the TAM and IDT by combining both.

The development of mobile Internet services allows more consumers to adopt smartphones as their primary communication device. This study focused on the application of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to determine the willingness of batik and textile craftsmen to use smartphones. The population of this study was batik and textile craftsmen in the Bayat, Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia. A total sample of 243 people had answered 30 questions on the questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale. The results of data analysis using GSCA software showed that, from eight hypotheses proposed, two hypotheses had not been supported. Technical support was not significant for the ease-of-use. It is because the damage experienced can be easily resolved by a repair shop. The findings reinforce the importance of training during the implementation of new technology. This training can make the users understand how to use new technology. The findings of this study strengthen the theory of TAM. Management support further influences the usefulness. This finding supports the theory of Igbaria technology acceptance. However, social influence did not significant influence the usefulness. This was because this study was conducted when the smartphone was no longer said to be a new technology.

Technology acceptance is one of the most popular research areas. Rapid developments in technology are making human life more comfortable. However, still most of the rural area has been deprived of benefits of technological advancement. Seventy percent population of India resides in rural area. Leveraging the improved penetration of the internet; mobile friendly population in rural India has been increasingly shopping online in the last few years. e-Governance is one of the important vehicles to provide efficient services to the citizens by Governments. One major obstacle is acceptance of e-Governance platforms by the citizens. Considering the increasing trend of using e-Commerce in rural area, this paper attempts to investigate moderating effect of online shopping experience on intention to use e-Governance portals. We surveyed 365 villagers across Maharashtra: one of the leading states in India. The result confirmed online shopping experience moderates the relationship between: 'perceived security & privacy' and 'attitude'; 'perceived security & privacy' and 'intention to use'; 'Perceived usefulness' and 'attitude'; and, 'attitude' and 'intention to use'. In this study definition of moderating variable 'experience' is unique and different than most of the popular studies. We defined experience as: 'prior use of any application of technology similar to the target application of technology'. Whereas prior studies considered experience as prior experience with target application of the technology.

In line with the advent of the 4th industrial revolution, project performance such as construction productivity and safety is being improved through the use of various smart technologies in construction projects. However, most studies focus on case analysis according to technology application, and research on performance impact and evaluation methods is insufficient. However, the performance impact of the use of smart construction technology can vary greatly depending on the capabilities and level of support of the organization using the technology. Therefore, this study aims to establish factors that affect the performance of smart construction technology utilization at the organizational level and analyze the performance impact relationship. The results of this study will provide the basis for establishing an organizational system and evaluating performance for the efficient use of smart construction technology in the future.

Due to the rapid change in society and technology, educators are paying more attention to the use of Information Technology(IT). This paper attempts to analyze the current status of the use of IT in elementary schools, focusing on two issues. First, the present status of the infrastructure for the use of IT is analyzed. Concerning the issue, this paper examines the national plan promoted by the Ministry of Education and school curriculum on computer education. Second, the current situation and hindering factors in the school use of IT are analyzed. Concerning this second issue, the results of a, survey which was conducted in December, 1997 are reported.

From the beginning of 1990s, the leading countries, especially United States, are trying to develop dual-use technology which can be used for both military and commercial purpose, and to improve the efficiency of management system in logistics and procurements. Considering the global trends, Department of Defence has been seeking for solutions as to how to reform military specifications, and launched specification unification projects. As a result of the project, a series of dual-use standards for hardwares are being developed in the form of Korea Industrial Standards(KS standards). However, there are many of foreign standards, which are not readily interpretable by users, referenced in the standards. In this study, needs for the conversion of referenced foreign standards to KS standards are reviewed and the appropriate approaches as to the conversion are suggested.

This research multilaterally analyzed the frequency of use of OTT service and its effect on life satisfaction for office workers of the MZ generation using the survey data of the Korean Media Panel. Recently, the OTT service market has grown rapidly, but there is a lack of research on what changes these changes have brought to the lives of the MZ generation. In this research, the frequency of OTT service use was investigated according to the characteristics of workers in the MZ generation, and a research model was set up to test whether the frequency of use affects life satisfaction. In fact, the frequency of use varied according to the gender and age group of the MZ generation, and it was found that the frequency of use also affected life satisfaction. It has an academic contribution in that it was the first to study the relationship between media content use patterns and life satisfaction. In the future, additional research is possible not only on the frequency of use, but also on the type of OTT content and the time of use of OTT service.

Offices of Education in Korea is planning and implementing the BYOD (bring your own device) policy. In particular, the Seoul Metropolitan Education Office promoted the 'Dibud' (digital buddy) policy. Due to the relative newness of the policy, coupled with opposition from the council, it hasn't been fully implemented. This study focuses on a rare example of a high school that experienced BYOD under the Office of Education-led policy in all three grades. This study adapted key variables from the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The regression results showed that both perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) significantly influenced intention to use Chromebooks and students' perceived learning outcomes. Analysis of the open-ended questionnaires revealed that students perceived positive benefits from using Chromebooks, such as easier data retrieval, improved academic performance, and increased learning productivity. Although the majority of respondents said there were no negative aspects to Chromebooks, negative factors included non-academic use, wireless network inconvenience, and device performance issues. The results of this study can provide data and understanding for future BYOD policies, specifically Chromebooks.

In this paper, we investigated the factors affecting the intention to use smartphone banking with a research model based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) extended to include security risk, trust, and self-efficacy. With analysis after controlling factors such as age, gender, and previous experience of smartphone banking that may have effects, we conclude that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, security risk, and trust have direct effect on the intention to use smartphone banking, and self-efficacy has indirect effect on the intention to use through mediation of perceived ease of use. We performed a study to check the validity of TAM in the context of smartphone banking, and confirmed that perceived ease of use has both direct and indirect effect on the intention to use.

Being able to adopt new information technologies into an organization is very important and critical in the rapid changing, competitive environment. In this research, existing papers related to the information technology acceptance of the 1990s have been studied and analyzed, and the components that affect the use of groupware have been studied by setting up an evaluation model to find the emotional status of the individuals that use groupware. Based upon the survey of 218 groupware users, this study utilized path analysis with LISREL8.12. The major results are as follows: First, perceived usefulness was influenced by training, perceived ease of use. Second, training, groupware self-efficacy, organizational support were determinants of ease of use. Third, training, task ambiguity, task interdependence, organizational support influenced subjective norm. Forth, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norm had positive effects on present usage.
