Global Histidine Phosphoproteomics in Human Prostate Cancer Cells

  • Histidine phosphorylation (pHis) is increasingly recognized as an important post translational modification (PTM) in regulating cellular functions in eukaryotes. In order to clarify the role of pHis in mammalian cell signaling system, a global phosphorylation study was performed in human prostate cancer cells, PC-3M, using a TiO2 affinity chromatography. A total number of 307 pHis sites were identified on the 268 proteins among total identified 9,924 phosphorylation sites on 3,316 proteins. In addition, 22 pHis proteins were classified in enzyme category. This report provides the first database for the study of pHis in prostate cancer cells.

  • Patients with advanced malignant tumors, including both jaws, is a challenging task for a head and neck surgeon. Current treatment landscape demonstrates good functional, anatomical, and aesthetic results in patients who could previously receive only palliative care. The extensive tissue defects resulting from oncological resections in the head and neck region require immediate reconstruction due to the exposure of vital structures and their contact with the external environment. A patient was operated using a three-team multidisciplinary approach involving simultaneous work of three specialized teams of maxillofacial and reconstructive microsurgeons, as well as an implantologist and a prosthodontist. This approach allowed simultaneous tumor resection with subsequent reconstruction of the intraoperative defect involving bilateral harvesting of two revascularized free fibular osteomusculocutaneous flaps with dental implantation and simultaneous rehabilitation of dentition with crowns.

학습자의 경험 분석을 통한 플립 러닝의 재해석 (Reconstructing the Meaning of Flipped Learning by Analyzing Learners' Experiences)

  • This paper explored how university students viewed flipped learning from their own perspectives. Using qualitative research methods, 5 students from a Computer Graphics course at a mid-scale university in Seoul were interviewed for this purpose. Researchers collected data about their learning experiences, emotions, and reflections about flipped learning in general and its components such as online materials, in-class activities, and instructor guidance. Research findings indicated that students were not so much conscious about the unfamiliarity of the class, the increased work load, nor the online lectures. They rather prioritized 'what they could actually learn' from the course, and thus defined flipped learning as a method which enabled students to constantly check and fill in the gaps in their learning through team-based activities and prompt feedback from the professor. A combination of students' positive attitude and active participation in team-based activities, the overall atmosphere of the department which supported interactivity and collaboration, the professor's emphasis on learning-by-doing and student-centered learning appeared to form their notions of flipped learning. The use of technology did not appear to heavily impact students' conceptions of flipped learning. Researchers suggest that pedagogical beliefs of the professor, culture surrounding the learner, and the good match between the course content and instructional strategies are central for designing a successful flipped learning class.

팀 기반 프로젝트 학습에서 팀효능감과 지각된 태만이 학습성과에 미치는 영향 : 팀효능감과 지각된 태만의 상호작용효과를 중심으로 (The Interaction Effects of Team Efficacy and Perceived Loafing on Learning Outcome in Team-Based Project Learning)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 팀 기반 프로젝트 학습에서 학습성과에 영향을 미치는 팀효능감과 태만의 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 H 대학교 사회복지학과에서 팀 기반 프로젝트 학습으로 진행된 수업 사례를 분석하였다. 2019년에 개설된 전공수업에 참여한 58명의 대학생을 대상으로 자료를 수집하고 위계적 회귀분석으로 팀효능감과 지각된 태만이 학습성과에 미치는 영향과 두 변인의 상호작용효과를 규명하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 팀효능감은 학습성과에 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 지각된 태만은 개인의 학습성과에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 셋째, 팀효능감과 지각된 태만의 상호작용효과는 학습성과에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 지각된 태만이 학습성과에 미치는 부정적 영향을 팀효능감이 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과에 기반하여 팀 기반 프로젝트 학습의 학습성과를 높이기 위한 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

선박 컴퍼스 갑판 구조물의 저진동 최적설계 (Optimum Design for Vibration Reduction of Compass Deck Structure in Ship)

  • Recently, the vibration reduction at a local structure such as compass deck has been continuously requested by ship owner and shipbuilder. Because crews are afflicted with vibration, severe vibration problems even bring about a damage of structure. This study conducted to get an optimized stiffener size of compass deck to reduce the vibration level and decrease the weight of structure in ship. NASTRAN external call type optimization software (OptShip) which makes use of NASTRAN as a solver is used as an optimization tool. The results indicate that the optimum design is promising for real applications.

패션기업 팀장의 리더십과 팀원의 신뢰가 직무몰입 및 만족에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Leadership of Team Leaders and Trust of Team Members on Job Commitment and Satisfaction in Fashion Companies)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze whether leadership of team leaders and trust of team members have an effect on job commitment and satisfaction in fashion companies. A survey was conducted from December 8 to 22 in 2008, among team members of fashion companies. The data was collected with 464 subjects, the statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows; first, contingent reward, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration of leadership had an effect on all factors of trust. Charisma of leadership had an effect on calculus-based trust and identification-based trust, but management by exception had an effect on knowledge-based trust. Second, calculus-based trust and identification-based trust about team leaders had an effect on job commitment and satisfaction of team members. Third, charisma, contingent reward and intellectual stimulation of leadership had an effect on job commitment and satisfaction of team members.

Design of a scintillator-based prompt gamma camera for boron-neutron capture therapy: Comparison of SrI2 and GAGG using Monte-Carlo simulation

  • Boron-neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a cancer treatment method that exploits the high neutron reactivity of boron. Monitoring the prompt gamma rays (PGs) produced during neutron irradiation is essential for ensuring the accuracy and safety of BNCT. We investigate the imaging of PGs produced by the boron-neutron capture reaction through Monte Carlo simulations of a gamma camera with a SrI2 scintillator and parallel-hole collimator. GAGG scintillator is also used for a comparison. The simulations allow the shapes of the energy spectra, which exhibit a peak at 478 keV, to be determined along with the PG images from a boron-water phantom. It is found that increasing the size of the water phantom results in a greater number of image counts and lower contrast. Additionally, a higher septal penetration ratio results in poorer image quality, and a SrI2 scintillator results in higher image contrast. Thus, we can simulate the BNCT process and obtain an energy spectrum with a reasonable shape, as well as suitable PG images. Both GAGG and SrI2 crystals are suitable for PG imaging during BNCT. However, for higher imaging quality, SrI2 and a collimator with a lower septal penetration ratio should be utilized.

A Study on Improvement and Degradation of Si/SiO2 Interface Property for Gate Oxide with TiN Metal Gate

  • In this study, we investigated effects of hydrogen annealing (HA) and plasma nitridation (PN) applied in order to improve $Si/SiO_2$ interface characteristics of TiN metal gate. In result, HA and PN showed a positive effect decreasing number of interface state $(N_{it})$ respectively. After FN stress for verifying reliability, however, we identified rapid increase of $N_{it}$ for TiN gate with HA, which is attributed to hydrogen related to a change of $Si/SiO_2$ interface characteristic. In contrast to HA, PN showed an improved Nit and gate oxide leakage characteristic due to several possible effects, such as blocking of Chlorine (Cl) diffusion and prevention of thermal reaction between TiN and $SiO_2$.

미국의 학교기반 위기대응팀에 대한 고찰과 시사점 (A Review and Its Implications on School-based Crisis Response Team in the U.S.)

  • 본 연구에서는 미국 학교위기대응체계 및 학교기반 위기대응팀과 위기개입을 살펴보고 그 시사점을 도출하여 국내의 학교기반 위기대응체계 구축 및 개선에 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 미국과 한국의 학교기반 위기대응체계에 대한 국내외 문헌을 중심으로 문헌연구를 수행하였다. 미국의 학교기반 위기대응팀의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미국은 학교기반 위기대응을 위한 기구와 재정이 법으로 명시되어있어서, 위기발생시 지역, 구, 학교의 역할과 책임소재가 명확하고, 단일한 위기관리 명령체계 구축으로 인한 혼선을 방지한다. 둘째, 학교위기사건 발생 시 학교는 사건지휘체계에 따라 전문위기대응에 관한 역할이 분담되고 위기대응팀과의 협력을 통해 사회 각 영역 간에 의사소통을 원활하게 조정한다. 셋째, 위기대응팀은 위기사건에 지치거나 압도당하지 않도록 팀 구성에 유연성을 발휘하면서 소진을 예방하고 있으며, 학교와 위기대응팀의 협력을 통해 학교자체의 위기역량강화에 초점을 둔다. 넷째, 미국의 학교기반 위기대응팀은 예방단계에서 장기화된 사후관리에 이르기까지 단계별 위기개입을 실시한다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 국내 학교기반 위기대응체계의 구축 및 개선에 주는 시사점을 논의하였다.

팀 의료에서 일본 임상병리사의 새로운 역할과 시사점 (New Role and Implications of Japanese Clinical Laboratory Technologists through Team Medical Care)

  • 일본에서 '팀 의료'는 임상병리사가 당뇨병팀, 영양지원팀, 감염관리팀, 진료지원팀 등 다양한 종류의 팀에서 활발하게 활동하고 있다. 전반적으로 최근 의료환경이 지속적으로 변화함에 따라 임상병리사는 채혈, 검체 채취, 검사, 심전도 등을 수행할 뿐만 아니라 의사, 간호사와 협력하여 '진료보조나 지원'에 적극적으로 참여할 것이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 국내 병동이나 응급실에 상주하는 임상병리사는 임상검사실과 연결고리 역할을 수행함으로써 의료의 질 향상과 의료안전 확보에 더 잘 기여할 수 있을 것이고, 의사와 간호사는 업무부담이 경감되고 보다 나은 환자관리를 위해 헌신할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
