Fuzzy Relaxation Based on the Theory of Possibility and FAM

  • This paper presents a fuzzy relaxation algorithm, which is based on the possibility and FAM instead of he probability and compatibility coefficients used in most of existing probabilistic relaxation algorithms, Because of eliminating stages for estimating of compatibility coefficients and normalization of the probability estimates, the proposed fuzzy relaxation algorithms increases the parallelism and has a simple iteration scheme. The construction of fuzzy relaxation scheme consists of the following three tasks: (1) definition of in/output linguistic variables, their term sets, and possibility. (2) Definition of FAM rule bases for relaxation using fuzzy compound relations. (3) Construction of the iteration scheme for calculating the new possibility estimate. Applications to region segmentation an ege detectiojn algorithms show that he proposed method can be used for not only reducing the image ambiguity and segmentation errors, but also enhancing the raw edge iteratively.

  • A novel 2-dimensional matched filter of the parallel-jaw type using fuzzy logic is proposed for bin picking. Specifically, the averaged pixel intensity of the windowed region for the filtering is considered to be fuzzy. Also membership functions for darkness and brightness are designed by employing the intensity histogram of the image. Then a rule is given to know how much a windowed region can be a possible holdsite. Furthermore eight rules are made to determine the part orientation, where Mamdani's reasoning method is applied. The proposed technique shows better performances than that of the conventional matched filtering technique in the following senses` 1) most of holdsites determined by the proposed technique are not concentrated at the locations nearly the end of part and 2) our filter is rather insensitive to noises than the conventional method. To show the validities of our proposed technique, some experimental results are illustrated and compared with the results by conventional matched filter technique.

  • Hydatid disease is a zoonotic infection in humans. The disease is endemic in some parts of the world, including Africa, Australia, and Asia, where cattle grazing is common; the disease is spread by an enteric route following the consumption of food contaminated with the eggs of the parasite. Failure to identify this parasite results in delayed diagnosis and increased morbidity to the patient. Upon diagnosis, every possible step should be taken, both surgical and medical, to prevent anaphylactic reactions from the cystic fluid. Postsurgical long-term follow up along with periodical ultrasonography of the liver and computed tomography scan of the abdomen is essential to rule out possible recurrence.

  • To evaluate the seismic performance of multistory building structures use an equivalent SDOF model. This paper presents a method of converting a MDOF system into an equivalent SDOF model. The principal objective of this investigation is to evaluate appropriateness of converting method through perform nonlinear time history analysis of a multistory building structures and an equivalent SDOF model. The hysteresis rules to be used an equivalent SDOF model is obtained from the pushover analysis. The conclusion of this study is following; A method of converting a MDOF system into an equivalent SDOF model through the nonlinear time history response analysis is valid. The representative lateral displacement of a moment resisting reinforced concrete frames is close to the height of the first modal participation vector $_1$$\beta$$_1$u}=1. It can be found that the hysteresis rule of an equivalent SDOF model have influence on the time history response. Therefore, it is necessary for selecting hysteresis rules to consider hysteresis characteristics of a moment resisting reinforced concrete frames.

  • An approach to robot force control, which allows force manipulations to be realized without overshot and overdamping while in the presence of unknown environment, is given in this paper. The main idea is to use dynamic compensation for known robot parts and fuzzy compensation for unknown environment so as to improve system performance. The fuzzy compensation is implemented by using rule based fuzzy approach to identify unknown environment. The establishment of proposed control system consists of following two stages. First, similar to the resolved acceleration control method, dynamic compensation and PID control based on known robot dynamics, kinematics and estimated environment compliance is introduced. To avoid overshoot the whole control system is constructed overdamped. In the second stage, the unknown environment stiffness is estimated by using fuzzy reasoning, where the fuzzy estimation rules are obtained priori as the expression of the relationship between environment stiffness and system response. Based on simulation result, comparisons between cases with or without fuzzy identifications are given, which illustrate the improvement achieved.

Integrated Development Planning for the Mongolian Economic Development Planning

  • This paper deals with challenges of Mongolian government regarding Economic Development Plan (hereafter EDP). EDP has a long history, appearing first in the socialist countries, then in European countries following the European Reconstruction Plan after the Second World War, and then in many developing countries after they gained independence from the colonial rule. Major challenges of the Mongolian EDP are largely related to the absence or lack of integrated approach. We will propose a new integrated framework based on the approach suggested by UNDP. The new framework consists of 5 core areas; 1) institutions and governance, 2) evidence-based and empirically backed policy options, 3) development of budgeting and financial system, 4) and monitoring and evaluation (M&E), 5) capacity development. In order to identify challenges in Mongolia, the new integrated approach was applied to diagnose current states. To understand current states of EDP in Mongolia, survey regarding EDP in Mongolia was conducted for the 43 officials of Ministry of Finance. The same approach was applied for Five-Year Economic Development Plans in Korea to compare performances with EDP in Mongolia. On the basis of comparative analysis of EDPs in Mongolia and Korea, some lessons are suggested.

The Development of Mathematical Performance Assessment for the 7th Graders (중학교 2학년용 수학 수행평가문항 개발 및 적용에 관한 연구 -서술형과 실험.실습형을 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop mathematics performance assessment items for the 8th graders and to analyze their performance ability. First, five-themes were selected : 'Calculator', 'Cut and Paste', 'Rule finding', 'Place Assignment', 'My thinking'. Then, the assistance of Mathematics education specialists and Teachers, 10 P. A. items consisting of two subtasks and their evaluation rubric were developed. Then, items were revised by the results of pilot test. And, final version of items were administrated to the 8th graders of three regions(Seoul, Chongiu, Chungp$\acute{y}$ong). Through analyzing the performance ability of the subjects assessment items, the following conclusion were obtained: They were very insufficient in the ability to find some patterns in the given problem situation and to describe logically the patterns in terms of mathematical terminology. It is believed because they were familiar with the objective test to take one or short answer.

  • This paper proposes identification and control algorithm of nonlinear systems and the proposed fuzzy-neural network has following characteristics. The network is roughly divided into premise and consequence. The consequence function is nonlinear function which consists of three parameters and the membership function in the premise contains of two parameters. The parameters in premise and consequence are learned by the extended back-propagation algorithm which has a modified form of the generalized delta rule. Simulation results on the identification show that this method is more effective than that of Narendra [3]. The indirect fuzzy-neural control is made of the fuzzy-neural identification and controller. Result on the indirect fuzzy-neural control shows that the proposed fuzzy-neural network can be efficiently applied to nonlinear systems.

  • Summarizing the conclusion of this article is following this: 1. Donginjimun-ouchil(동인지문오칠) published at the close of Koryo, is not only the oldest anthology but also the only one of the same kinds that we have in present. 2. Donginjimun-ouchil is consist of 9 Kweons. We can know the fact through comparing samhansiguegam(삼한시구감), becouse it seems to summerize Donginjimun-ouchil. 3. Donginjimun-ouchil is different from other books and espically has a speial features which in eluding profils about the characters. 4. With additional punctuation marks in profile and critiism marks, we can know the rule of punctuation mark and at the same time it can give many assistances to the study of poetics.

  • Having measured physical canstant and dissolution rate of prednisolone powder, and tablets, also particle size, particle number of powder disintegration, hardness, friability of prednisolone tablets and having also compared it's interrelationship. We obtained the results as following. 1) Dissolution rate of prednisolone powder was determinded cube root rule and: the slope $({\alpha})$ was $3.1915{\times}10^{-2}$. 2) The tablet used in this study was fourteen kind of prednisolone tablets, two kinds of which were not conformity with prednisolone dissolution rate test of U.S.P. XVIII, but the rest of them were conformity with the same test (t60% was 4.3minute in average) 3) There was no significant interrelationship between disintegration, hardness, friability and dissolution rate of prednisolone tablet used in this study but we recognized the disintegration time was greatly influenced by the dissolution rate.
