The purpose of this study was to investigate the body size perception and appearance management behaviors of middle school boys and girls. Subjects of this study were 7 coeducational middle school boys and girls in Gwangju and 435 responses were collected from real body measurement and questionnaires. SPSS package 12.0(Kr) was used to analyze results. The results were summarized as follows: First, middle school boys and girls tended to perceive their bodies slimmer as well as obeser. It is recommended to give education for correct perception of their body sire. Second, the correlation of body size perception factor and appearance management behavior was Middle school boys and girls tended to manage their appearance using a diet rather than doing exercise in obesity distortion perception group(the group perceive obeser than real body size). It needs to be properly guided. Third, the appearance management behavior of slimness distortion perception group(the group perceive slimmer than real body size) and normal group was examined. While middle school boys did only exercise management, middle school girls did all but exercise management. Their education should be distinguished. Finally, while slimness distortion perception group did diet management in both middle school boys and girls, they tended not to manage body correction or exercise. A tendency to depend only on a diet in the group who should perceive their need of exercise should be corrected. In order to correct the distorted body perception and appearance management behavior of middle school boys and girls, it is recommended to educate a standard body size through home management education which is a regular curriculum, and at the same time to guide them to perceive their actual body size correct.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the appearance satisfaction and self-efficacy of college students. The relation between appearance satisfaction and self-efficacy was also examined. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. The convenience sample consisted of 395 undergraduate college students from three universities in D city. The data were collected from May to July, 2011 using the Body Cathexis Scale and the Self Efficacy Scale. Data analysis was performed with SPSS WIN 21.0 Program. The scores on both scales showed a significant difference between male and female students, and the male students had higher scores. Male and female students had similar rank order of body part by satisfaction scores. There were significant correlations between appearance satisfaction scores and self-efficacy scores but there were no significant differences between the correlation coefficients in male and female students. This result indicates that the effect of appearance satisfaction on self-efficacy was similar in both male and female students. The findings of this study suggest that an intervention program to enhance appearance satisfaction is effective in increasing self-efficacy of college students.

In this study, we proposed a new model with ISOIA (Insect Search by Observation based on Insect Appearance) method based on observation by insect appearance to improve user satisfaction, and compared it with the ISBC and ISOBC methods. In order to test these three insect search systems with AHP method, we derived three evaluation criteria for user satisfaction and three sub-evaluation criteria by evaluation criterion. In the ecological environment, non-experts need insect search systems to identify insect species and to get u-Learning contents related to the insects. To assist the public the non-experts, ISBC (Insect Search by Biological Classification) method based on biological classification to search insects and ISOBC (Insect Search by Observation based on Biological Classification) method based on the inference that identifies the observed insect through observation according to biological classification have been provided. In the test results, we found the order of priorities was ISOIA, ISOBC, and ISBC. It shows that the ISOIA system proposed in this study is superior in usage and quality compared with the previous insect search systems.

We propose an active color model based method for tracking motions of multiple human using a networked multiple-camera system in IoT space as a human-robot coexistent system. An IoT space is a space where many intelligent devices, such as computers and sensors(color CCD cameras for example), are distributed. Human beings can be a part of IoT space as well. One of the main goals of IoT space is to assist humans and to do different services for them. In order to be capable of doing that, IoT space must be able to do different human related tasks. One of them is to identify and track multiple objects seamlessly. In the environment where many camera modules are distributed on network, it is important to identify object in order to track it, because different cameras may be needed as object moves throughout the space and IoT space should determine the appropriate one. This paper describes appearance based unknown object tracking with the distributed vision system in IoT space. First, we discuss how object color information is obtained and how the color appearance based model is constructed from this data. Then, we discuss the global color model based on the local color information. The process of learning within global model and the experimental results are also presented.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the standard weight and the perception of the figure, making girls' high school students the object of scientific study. Furthemore this study will try to find the factor having an effect on the weight through measuring the concern with appearance and health. The study consisted of 658 girls' high school students in Seoul. The data was analyzed by the methods of frequency, percentage, reliability, pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The standard size of girls height was 160.95cm, their weight was 52.06kg. 2. 34 percent of the girls tested perceived of themselves of having proper figures. Especially in the case of overweight girls. Only 9.7 percent of girls were satisfied with their figure, the other 83.3 percent were not. 3. 88.4 percent of the girls were concerned with their weight. It was through mass communecation that girls were concerned with wheir weight. 41.2 percent of the girls were concerned with weight much more through mass communication than through any other things. This showed that the effect of mass communication on juveniles was increased. 4. The result of correlation of variable about the concern with appearance(p<0.001), the perception of their figures(p<0.001), the existence of weight controller in friends (p<0.001) and the concern with health(p<0.001) indicated significant positive correlation, on the other hand, the satisfaction of their figures(p<0.001) indicated negative correlation. This showed that the less satisfactory their figures were, the higher their concern about weight was. 5. In order th seize the variable having an effect on the concern with weight, the result of multiple regression analysis was that the concern with appearance (p<0.001), the satisfaction of figure (p<0.001), the concern with health (p<0.05), poket money (p<0.05) and health condition (p<0.05) had a statistically significant effect and the variables also 35.7% out of this model. Concern with appearance had the most important effect of all these variables.
This paper discusses the social changes in the late 19th century that provided a historical background in the appearance of the ready-to-wear clothing in the West. It examines the social meanings of the appearance of the ready-to-wear clothing at the time and traces the origins of these social characteristics to the book published in the $16^{th}$ century by Thomas More, Utopia. The results of this study can be summarized as the following. First, the appearance and expansion of the ready-to-wear clothing coincided with the social transition from a class-based society to a democratic society in the west in the $19^{th}$ century. Second, uniforms were produced in the $18^{th}$ century Europe in order to distinguish different classes and ethnic groups, with the military uniforms being the most visible example. Frequent military campaigns in Europe resulted in the increasing demand and expansion of military uniforms, which later became the basis of the standardization of the men's clothing with uniforms. Third, the women's ready-to-wear clothing appeared later than their male counterpart and was made possible by the simplification of design, an important characteristic of women's wear in the later period. Fourth, the social characteristics of the ready-to-wear clothing can be traced to a democratic and egalitarian society without personal properties that was depicted in the book of Utopia by Thomas More. Fifth, one of the characteristics of the ready-to-wear clothing can be found in the description of Utopia, in which everyone in Utopia wears a clothing of the same form for life.

This study looked into the effect of the life style of single females in 20s and 30s on beauty behavior recognition, and spss 17.0 is used for data analysis method. As for the statistical analysis method in order to validate the measurement tools, reliability verification is conducted and life style groups are sampled using K-means taking into account factor scores by life style. To find out the difference between general beauty behavior recognition and life style, descriptive statistics and One Way ANOVA were carried out, and Duncan Test was implemented for the post examination method. Multiple regression analysis was also carried out to figure out the effect of life style on beauty behavior recognition. The result is as follows. First, according to the results of reliability verification and factor analysis for the lifestyle type and the recognition of the behavior for beauty, the types of the life style of the subjects were divided into Economic Utility, Convention Conservatism, Self Development, Showy Consumption, and Appearance Oriented, and the recognition of the behavior for beauty was named as Makeup and Hair, Cosmetic Surgery, Body Care, and Skin Care. Second, as to the recognition of the behavior for beauty based upon the lifestyle, the Appearance Oriented in Showy Consumption recorded the highest. Third, the analysis of the influence of the style on the recognition of the behavior for beauty showed that the behavior recognition for Makeup and Hair and for Skin Care was affected by the life style of Self Development, Showy Consumption, and Appearance Oriented; the behavior recognition for Cosmetic Surgery was affected by the life style of Conventional Conservatism, Showy Consumption, and Appearance Oriented; and again the behavior recognition for Body Care was by that of Economical Utility and Showy Consumption.
This study aims to compare the ease of men's slim pants patterns, and to analyze the fit and appearance through the 3D virtual garment system. The study selected four educational materials and one industrial pattern of slim pants for a total of five items. The CLO 3D Modelist program was utilized to carry out the appearance evaluation through virtual wearing and opacity, and a comparison was performed regarding the clothing pressure when the virtual model was standing and walking. The results of our comparison of the patternmaking for slim pants showed that pattern C pants had the greatest ease on the waist circumference, while B pants showed no ease. The C and E pants also had the most ease on the hip measurement. In the appearance evaluation, A pants received the most favorable results, followed by D, E, B, and C, in descending order. The clothing pressure appeared to be mainly red on the waist, crotch, and hem when standing in all pants, so the clothing pressure was high. While walking, the stress appeared to be different for the left and right parts of the body, and the most significant difference was observed on the thigh area.
