  • The purpose of this study is to see and compare the contemporary Korean-Thai female poems from a feminine standpoint to newly clarify the textuality of their poems. The textuality defined in this manuscript is the text of Korean-Thai contemporary female poems. To newly clarify the textuality of their poems are to go against the existing discussion method and to newly read out the text as re-vision method. This discussion is to analyse deeply how the central exis composing a text which is the identity of woman in a body, appearance of uttrance, or action of abjection is exposed in gender space and to identify the poem's textuality. In other words, through in-depth analysis of the text of poems, which are very complicated as a skein of yarn, place a high value of Korean-Thai female poems. Transcending time, nations and races, if the text of female poem would not free from a biased male-dominated thinking or make a mystery of female poem textuality without critics or tend to be stereotype the text of poem as pathos of female, it would not get out from man-centered reading. To escape from the state of sexual discrimination, the new reading method was seriously analysed and found out that the female text poems not only implicate sexual discrimination but also link to expansive cultural and social structure. And for that reason, this study raise a question to male-dominant sexual discriminated norm. It is very significant that through this elaborate and in-depth text poem analysis, a creation process of female poem is traced. Eventually, the comparative study on Korean-Thai female poems is meaningful and worthy in regard to the contribution to promotion of cultural exchange between korea-Thai two nations and furthermore extend to East Asia to make a basement for the vitalization of Asia comparative literature.

  • In the multimedia era and contemporary art, the expression of narrative is expanding in various ways based on formal theory. And the expression form is maximized according to the use of each medium. In terms of understanding artworks, an approach that combines various expressions and media using these narratives is also possible. Therefore, this study analyzed the works of the artists by selecting three artists, Sadic Guissi Alfrazi, Lindsay Sears, and Kara Walker, who fused the media using narrative structures. Through this, it was intended to present the artistic value and significance of the work and the possibility of expanding the narrative expression of contemporary art in the future. As a result of the analysis of previous artists' works, it was shown that the phase of convergence can be derived by using the medium of narrative concepts beyond the dichotomy of content and form, confirming that digital technology and media development are changing the form of art. In addition, it was confirmed that the use of narrative structure facilitates media conversion. It is expected that discussions on the new paradigm of contemporary art will progress in the future.

  • In a typical spread spectrum system, parallel correlator occupies a large fraction of power consumption because of the large number of accumulators in the system. In this paper, a novel accumulator is proposed that can reduce the power consumption in the parallel correlator. The proposed accumulator counts the numbers of 1 of the incoming input data. The counted values are weighted and added together to obtain the final correlation value only at the end of the accumulation. The proposed accumulator has been designed and simulated by CADENCE Verilog-XL and synthesized by SYNOPSYS Design Compiler with $0.6{\mu}m$ standard cell library. Power consumption results have been obtained from EPIC PowerMill simulations. Simulation results are very encouraging. First, the power dissipation is reduced by 22% and the maximum operating frequency is increased by 323%. In addition, the parallel correlator using the proposed accumulators consumed less power than the conventional active parallel correlators by 22%, and less power than the conventional passive correlator by 43%.

  • A vacuum control system has been developed for using Ethernet Multi Serial Device Severs (EMSDS) for the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) storage ring. There are 124 vacuum ion pumps at the storage ring. It was a very important problem to solve the problem how to control such a big number of vacuum pumps distributed around the ring. After discussions, we decided to develop a serial to ethernet interrace device sever that will be mounted in the control system rack. It has a 32-bits microprocessor embedded Linux, 12 ports RS485 (or RS232) slave interface. one channel 10/100BaseTx ethernet host port, one channel UART host port, and 16 Mbytes large memory buffer. These vacuum pumps are connected to Ion-Pump serial controllers, which chop the AC current so as to control the current in the pumps. The EMSDS connect either 100BaseTx or 10BaseT ethernet networks to asynchronous serial ports for communication with serial device. It can simultaneously control up to 12 ion-pump serial controllers. 12 EMSDS are connected to a personal computer (PC) through the network. The PC can automatically control the EMSDS by sending a set of commands through the TCP/IP network. Upon receiving a command from a PC running under Windows2000 through the network, the EMSDS communicate through the stave serial interrace ports to ion-pump controller. We added some software components on the top of EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) toolkit.

  • In this paper, we propose the methods not only to eliminate ELF(Extremely Low Frequency) EMI(Electro-Magnetic Interference) noice for extending recognition distance, but also to utilize the the PLN for detecting starting instance of a hand gesture using electric potential sensor. First, we measure strength of electric field generated in the smart devices such as TV and phone, and minimize EMI through efficient arrangement of the sensors. Meanwhile, we utilize the 60 Hz PLN to extract the starting point of hand gesture. Thereafter, we eliminate the PLN generated in the smart device and circuit of sensors. And then, we shield the sensors from an electric noise generated from devices. Finally, through analyzing the frequency components according to the gesture of target, we use the low pass filter and the Kalman filter for elimination of remaining electric noise. We analyze and evaluate the proposed ELF-band EMI eliminating method for non-contact remote sensing of the EPS(Electric Potential Sensor). Combined with a detecting technique of gesture starting point, the recognition distance for gestures has been proven to be extended to more than 3m, which is critical for real application.

  • During the 1950s, the North Koreans rebuilt their capital-Pyongyang-as a modern city under the principle of Soviet urban design. One North Korean architect, Kim Jung-hee, has been widely credited since the late 1980s as the master architect of the General Plan of the city's reconstruction. While Kim Jung-hee played a crucial role in its reconstruction, his heroic image as the founding architect of Pyongyang is considerably attributed to North Korea's mythical narratives rather than his historical activities. This paper argues that Pyongyang's postwar urban design was not a work made by a single actor, Kim Jung-hee; rather, it was a long-term collaborative project in which a team of North Korean architects and Soviet technical advisors took their respective roles. Beginning in the late 1980s, North Korea, which had been struggling with economic decline and an increasing sense of lagging behind in its rivalry with its Southern counterpart, used heroic narratives during the 1950s' postwar reconstruction period as an important propaganda tool for their regime. In this mythical narrative of Pyongyang's reconstruction, massive economic and technical aid from other communist countries has often disappeared, and the memory of the architects who contributed greatly to the reconstruction but later purged in North Korea have also completely vanished. Kim Jung-hee, meanwhile, remained in this epic as the founding architect who rebuilt the city in faithful accordance with the leadership of Kim Il Sung.

  • Fairy tales starting with the phrase 'Once upon a time' have been told throughout generations to generations. These stories of the past started with the history of mankind, and are constantly recreated under the names of legends, fables and myths. Through understanding the archetypes frequently occurring in legends and story telling techniques used to visualize them, the possibility of better recreation of stories and animations are sought. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the original form of archetypical Jeju epic dance lyrics are adjusted accordingly to meet the author's intention as it transforms into the modern animation 'Oneuli' By this comparative analysis, the utilization of archetypes and mythic motifs in the creation of animation are expected to enhance the interactions with the audiences beyond the border and age.

  • Argument on the postmodernism of philosophy and history, epic and effect, and culture and art is becoming more ambiguous in scope due to digital technology development. Digital technology makes to change of aesthetic approach over the length and breadth of art and culture including medium art. Analysis of Digital images is changed from presence of images to feature analysis of images which is made by digital technology, and raise the question of how to analyze the images of reproducing digital technology focused on realism. Digital image, focused on hyper reality, should be approached not by film aesthetic approach but by shot unit. Due to emphasizes image reality reproduction by frame unit and not the short unit of the narrative approach, the artistic approach should differ from previous realism practice. Particularly, when considering movies which is focused on illusion, the realistic approach should be realized not in the of realistic approach in narrative aspect but in the aspect of realistic approach in painting aspect.

  • 'Otherness' is a major philosophical concept in modern Western thought. It has been a force through which the concept of a subject's rights emerged. This paper focuses on Emmanuel Levinas' discussion of 'otherness.' Levinas emphasizes our ethical responsibility for others, which is meaningful in that it can be applied as a paradigm of communication for use in modern society. In the context of modern times and multicultural societies, it is important to recognize the diversity of others and to promote coexistence. Coexistence at this time should be 'unifying' rather than subject-centered. This paper attempts to understand this narrative. An epic is a cognitive process that constitutes the fundamental desires and experiences of humans. Humans try to project and understand themselves through narratives. The possibility of coexistence with others can be examined by analyzing otherness as found within those narratives. Therefore, this paper suggests the possibility and direction of coexistence by analyzing the storytelling that establishes relationships by shaping characters in Guillermo del Toro's film, Shape of Water.
