In this paper, we study the core stability of the dominating set game which has arisen from the cost allocation problem related to domination problem on graphs. Let G be a graph whose neighborhood matrix is balanced. Applying duality theory of linear programming and graph theory, we prove that the dominating set game corresponding to G has the stable core if and only if every vertex belongs to a maximum 2-packing in G. We also show that for dominating set games corresponding to G, the core is stable if it is large, the game is extendable, or the game is exact. In fact, the core being large, the game being extendable and the game being exact are shown to be equivalent.

L.G. Khachiyan's algorithm for solving a system of strict (or open) linear inequalities with integral coefficients is described. This algorithm is based on the construction of a sequence of ellipsoids in R$^n$ of decreasing n-dimensional volume and contain-ing feasible region. The running time of the algorithm is polynomial in the number of bits of computer core memory required to store the coefficients. It can be applied to solve linear programming problems in polynomially bounded time by the duality theorem of the linear programming problem. But it is difficult to use in solving practical problems. Because it requires the computation of a square roots, besides other arithmatic operations, it is impossible to do these computations exactly with absolute precision.

An investigation was performed to elucidate wave character of the timber line on the middle slope of the west side of Paektusan. The Betula ermanii forest, which composes the timber line on about 2, 060m elevation of sea level, is the pure community of B. ermanii. Diffraction pattern of wave distribution of B. eramnii due to boundary condition of alpine temperature gradient was found out on the timber line. Interference patterns of waves of B. ermanii communities produced by environment conditions such as soil layers, whids, snow and relief were shown on a specific area. These facts indicate that the B. ermanii individuals have wave and particle duality, the complementarity principle.

The Iwahori-Hecke algebra $H_{k}$ ( $q^2$) of type A acts on the k-fold tensor product space of the natural representation of the quantum superalgebra (equation omitted)$_{q}$(gl(m, n)). We show the Hecke algebra $H_{k}$ ( $q^2$) and the quantum superalgebra (equation omitted)$_{q}$(gl(m n)) have commuting actions on the tensor product space, and determine the centralizer of each other. Using this result together with Gyoja's q-analogue of the Young symmetrizers, we construct highest weight vectors of irreducible summands of the tensor product space.

To increase the overall utility and decrease the link delay and power consumption, a joint optimal cross-layer design of congestion control at the transport layer, link delay at the data link layer and power allocation at the physical layer for mobile ad hoc networks is considered in this paper. As opposed to previous work, the rate outage probability in this work is based on exactly closed-form; therefore, the proposed method can guarantee the globally optimal solutions to the underlying problem. The non-convex formulated problem is transformed into a convex one, which is solved by exploiting the duality technique. Finally, simulation results verify that our proposal achieves considerable benefits over the existing method.

The traditional process capability indices Cp, Cpk, Cpm, $Cpm^+$ have been used to characterize process performance on the basis of univariate quality characteristics. Cp, Cpk consider the process variation, Cpm considers both the process variation and the process deviation from target and Cpm+ considers economic loss for the process deviation from target. In manufacturing industry, there is growing interest in quantitative measures of process variation under multivariate duality characteristics. The multivariate process capability index incorporates both the process variation and the process deviation from target or considers expected loss caused by the process deviation from target. This paper proposes multivariate capability index based on the expected loss derived from multivariate normal distribution.

The successful management of logistics in an organization requires the careful coordination and manipulation of both movement and storage. In this study, we can show what is the most efficient and the cheapest method to transport the petroleum products under a few constraints with the model of linear programming. And also, the model can give some important informations so as what is the best coverages of each terminals by types, how many products should be exchanged among each companies and which terminals or complexes are economically prior to the others. Even we can understand that the duality is one of the useful measures to evaluate the economical efficiencies of transportation and storage related elements such as complex and terminal location, transport mode, storage tankage capacity and in/outflow facilities of terminals etc.

A reliable bonding between two silicon wafers, regularly grooved and non-grooved, was done by the direct boning technology, It is Presented that high structural duality was realized not only at the bended interface but in the bulk, commensurate with the filling of artificial grooves, which would be attributed to the dislocation-gettering capability of groove free-surfaces during annealing. The groove filling would be explained with mass-transport phenomena assisted by the dislocation movement from initial contact boundaries toward groove surfaces. Intrinsic voids can be easily removed by aid of the grooves. The proposed method yielded also an intimate bonding not only between {111} wafers strongly misoriented and slightly inclined to {111} basal plane but even between {111} and {100} orientation wafers.

We prove three convex hull theorems on triangles and circles. Given a triangle ${\triangle}$ and a point p, let ${\triangle}^{\prime}$ be the triangle each of whose vertices is the intersection of the orthogonal line from p to an extended edge of ${\triangle}$. Let ${\triangle}^{{\prime}{\prime}}$ be the triangle whose vertices are the centers of three circles, each passing through p and two other vertices of ${\triangle}$. The first theorem characterizes when $p{\in}{\triangle}$ via a distance duality. The triangle algorithm in [1] utilizes a general version of this theorem to solve the convex hull membership problem in any dimension. The second theorem proves $p{\in}{\triangle}$ if and only if $p{\in}{\triangle}^{\prime}$. These are used to prove the third: Suppose p be does not lie on any extended edge of ${\triangle}$. Then $p{\in}{\triangle}$ if and only if $p{\in}{\triangle}^{{\prime{\prime}}$.

This study will covered socio-cultural background and characteristic of the face-concealing culture of Istanbul which has liberal and westernized clothes culture for women even if it's an city in an Islamic country. This study depended on literatures related to religion, culture and costumes of the Ottoman Empire, especially costumic data on miniature of turkey, which was famous from 16th to 19th century. Since the 17th century, the Ottoman Empire has been gradually influenced by European countries but the change of women's clothes was not considerable. In the 18th century, women's clothes were influenced by foreign fashions. A veil to cover the face was gradually disappeared and traditional Turkish headdresses were replaced by European hats. Through face-concealing culture of Istanbul, we can see some socio-cultural features like Islamic religious character, one's social position, economic situation, westernization and renovation, beauty and completion of costume, duality for the reason of regional difference.
