Nursing students' rights in clinical practice in South Korea: a hybrid concept-analysis study

  • Purpose: This study aimed to derive a conceptual definition and attributes for nursing students' rights in clinical practice in South Korea. Methods: This concept-analysis study was conducted at a nursing school in South Korea. The participants were recruited using purposive sampling. The inclusion criteria were being a fourth-year nursing student and having two or more semesters of practical experience. The hybrid model used in this study had three stages. First, 12 studies were reviewed during the theoretical stage. Second, 10 in-depth interviews were conducted during the fieldwork stage. Third, in the analytical stage, the concept of nursing students' rights related to clinical practice was defined and the attributes were derived. Results: The analysis established five attributes of nursing students' rights: the right to learn, the right to be protected from infections and accidents, the right to be cared for and supported, the right to be respected, and the right to be recognized as a member of a nursing team. A key theme that emerged from this study was having the right to learn in a safe and supportive environment. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop a measurement tool based on the above five attributes and to verify its effectiveness.

중도입국 청소년의 학습권 실현을 위한 지원방안 연구: 학부모, 교사 등 관계자를 중심으로 (A Study on the Support Policy for the Realization of Right to Learn of Youth Migrants in Korea: Focusing on Parents, Teachers and Experts)

  • 본 연구는 중도입국 청소년의 학습권 보장과 관련하여 교육 관련 종사자와 학부모의 인식 고찰을 목적으로 한다. 특히, 중도입국 청소년의 학교 교육기회와 적응 실태를 분석하고 그에 따른 정책적 제언을 하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 연구참여자를 대상으로 일대일 심층면접을 실시하여 자료 수집 및 분석을 하였다. 연구결과, 초기정착, 기본권으로서 사회보장 지원, 학습권 보장, 심리지원의 4개의 범주와 7개의 하위범주가 도출되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 첫째, 중도입국 청소년의 학습지원을 위한 법적 근거 마련, 둘째, 학교 부적응 중도입국 청소년을 위한 교육과정 구성, 셋째, 개별 맞춤형 지원 제도 수립, 넷째, 정보제공 등 지원 제도의 적극적인 홍보, 마지막, 심리적 안정을 위하여 제도의 다변화를 제안하였다.

Balancing a seesaw with reinforcement learning

  • A propeller-based seesaw system is a system that can represent one of axis of four propeller drones and its stabilization has been replaced by intelligent control system instead of often used control methods such as PID and state space. Today, robots are increasingly use machine learning methods to adapt to their environment and learn to perform the right actions. In this article, we propose a Q-learning-based approach to control the stability of a seesaw system with a propeller. From the experimental results that it is possible to fully learn the balance control of a seesaw system by correctly defining the state of the system, the actions to be performed, and the reward functions. Our proposed method solves the seesaw stabilization.

EPTA 교재 중요성에 대한 고찰 - 교재 만족도 분석 중심으로 - (A Study on the Importance of EPTA Textbooks - Based on the Analysis of Textbook Satisfaction -)

  • The existence of appropriate teaching materials in foreign language is very essential especially if it is related to safety. Among them, the importance of textbooks is more emphasized because there is no suitable education or curriculum for EPTA (English proficiency test of aviation). A good textbook not only presents the right direction to study but also provides an efficient way to learn. This research exploded how well textbooks for EPTA are organized and analyzed current pilots' responses whether the textbooks are suitable for preparing EPTA through the questionnaire. The conclusion drawn is that textbooks for EPTA should be designed to encourage current and pre-pilots to learn how to communicate with controllers efficiently and briefly, and also should provide proper guide lines for preparing EPTA.

  • The first aim of this study is to provide QC engineers with the right method of cipher of SQC-charts and to help learn how to analyse SQC-charts. The second aim is to maximize the utility of SQC-charts by introducing some Distribution-free Statistical Tests which is experted to provide some methods of test for null hypothese $(H_0)$ concerning the randomness of manufacturing processes.

원자력안전법에 대한 방사선학과 학생들의 학습권 보장에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Guarantee of Learning Rights of Radiology Students in Nuclear Safety Act)

  • The study developed a radiation dose measurement program in the radiology laboratory to measure how much exposure the students are exposed to during the radiology class, to request for the improvement and the revision of the current Nuclear Safety Act. The experimental program is shown in the following figure, and experiments were conducted to determine the degree of radiation exposure in the control room with a lead gown at a distance of 1 m, 2 m, and 1 m, and in a control room with a radiographic lead glass wall. The duration of the experiment was 3 months from April to June, when radiation imaging practice classes were conducted, and 128 hours of imaging practice per month were conducted. In order to find out the dose of radiation dose during radiology imaging practice class, the experiment was carried out from April to June for 3 months, and according to the program, the results of exposure dose were 0.34 mSv at 1 m distance, 0.01 mSv at shielding of lead gown at 1 m distance, 0.16 mSv at 2 m distance, and 0.01 mSv at control room with radiation lead glass wall. The exposure dose from the test results was much below the annual general public limit dose of 1 mSv. The restriction on the operation of the radiation equipment in the practice of the students is a regulation that infringes the right of students to learn, and amendments or exemptions of Nuclear Safety Act should be enacted to ensure that it does not violate the fundamental right to learn for students in radiology.

골프드라이빙 스트로크시 역학적 분석 (Mechanical Analysis of golf driving stroke motion)

  • This research seeks to identify the plantar pressure distribution graph and change in force in connection with effective golf drive strokes and thus to help ordinary golfers have appropriate understanding on the moving of the center of weight and learn desirable drive swing movements. To this end, we conducted surveys on five excellent golfers to analyze the plantar pressure applied when performing golf drive strokes, and suggested dynamic variables quantitatively. 1) Our research presents the desire movements as follows. For the time change in connection with the whole movement, as a golfer raises the club head horizontally low above ground from the address to the top swing, he makes a semicircle using the left elbow joint and shaft and slowly turns his body, thus lengthening the time. And, as the golfer twists the right waist from the middle swing to the impact with the head taking address movement, and does a quick movement, thus shortening the time. 2) For the change in pressure distribution by phase, to strike a strong shot with his weight imposed from the middle swing to the impact, a golfer uses centrifugal force, fixes his left foot, and makes impact. This showed greater pressure distribution on the left sole than on the right sole. 3) For the force distribution graph by phase, the force in the sole from the address to halfway swing movements is distributed to the left foot with 46% and to the right foot with 54%. And, with the starting of down swing, as the weight shifts to the left foot, the force is distributed to the left sole with 58%. Thus, during the impact and follow through movements, it is desirable for a golfer to allow his left foot to take the weight with the right foot balancing the body. 4) The maximum pressure distribution and average of the maximum force in connection with the whole movement changed as the left (foot) and right (foot) supported opposing force, and the maximum pressure distribution also showed much greater on the left sole.

Looking through Others' Eyes: A Double Perspective in Literary and Film Studies

  • An outsider's perspective is often illuminating and enlightening, as he or she perceives the world differently from us, and sees things that insiders tend to miss. While an outsider's views are fresh and penetrating, an insider's vision is often banal and myopic. Although outsiders' perspectives may not be quite right at times, they always shed light and provide insight, allowing us to reevaluate the conventional interpretations of our literature and folktales. In order to prevent our own understanding and knowledge from growing stale and narrow-minded, we should endeavor to consider outsiders' opinions and view all things from multiple angles. When reading literary or cultural texts, therefore, we need to read through others' eyes because it provides alternative perspectives. And we should learn to co-exist with others and see things from others' eyes. In his celebrated novel, My Name Is Red, Orhan Pamuk, the Turkish Nobel Laureate, explores the themes of clashes between the East and the West, the young and the old, and conservatism and radicalism. The confrontation between the stubborn defenders of tradition and the self-righteous innovators ultimately results in bigotry, hatred and murder. As Pamuk aptly perceives in his novel, the inevitable outcome of such uncompromising conflict is degradation of humanity and annihilation of human civilization. That is precisely why we need to embrace others who are different from us and learn to look through others' eyes. Sometimes, we fear other voices and different perspectives. As the movie "The Others" suggests, however, there is no reason for us to be afraid of others.

사회복지 현장실습 참여 대학생의 권리에 대한 탐색적 연구 - 학습권 및 노동권의 측면에서 - (An Exploratory Study on the Rights of Students in their Social Work Field Practicum -In the aspect of the rights to learn and the rights to work-)

  • 본 연구는 사회복지 현장실습 대학생들을 대상으로 이들이 인식하는 실습생으로서의 권리를 살펴보고자 하였으며 특히 학습권 및 노동권 관점에서 이를 탐색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 초점집단 인터뷰(FGI) 방법을 활용하였으며 총 19명의 실습생이 참여하였다. 분석결과 사회복지 현장실습 참여 학생의 권리인식은 총 5개의 범주 및 18개의 하위범주로 도출되었다. 연구결과 첫째, 학교 및 실습기관은 실습생의 권리에 대한 인식이 부재하거나 미흡하였다. 둘째, 실습참여 학생들은 실습 현장에서 훈련생이자 노동자로서의 이중적 지위와 역할을 담당하고 있었으며 이로 인한 혼란을 느끼고 있었다. 셋째, 실습생들은 훈련생으로서 적절한 지도와 교육을 받지 못해 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 넷째, 실습생들은 현장에서 실질적인 노동력을 제공하고 있음에도 불구하고 합당한 보상 및 안전문제 노출시 제대로 된 보호를 받지 못해 불안함과 부당함을 느끼고 있었다. 다섯째, 학생들은 실습생의 권리보호에 대한 인식 및 제도 개선을 위한 실습기관 및 학교의 적극적인 노력을 요구하고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 현장실습 학생들의 권리보호를 위한 개선방안을 논의하고 실습교육 향상을 위한 대안을 제시하였다.

중학교 확률계산학습에서 시각화활동의 효과에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of the Visualization in the Learning of Probability Calculation at a Middle School)

  • Two (second-grade) classes of Yu-song middle school were chosen to research the effect of the visualization in the learning of probability calculation at a middle school. One class, as an experiment class, was taught the probability calculation of probability unit by the visualization learning and the other, as a controlled class, was taught it by the traditional lecture, and then through the writing tests there was a verification on the effect of right after test and the delaying test after 3 weeks to examine the learning effect of high- and low-level groups. It was difficult for the students to visualize the problems of the probability calculation, but I suggested simple models to the students and helped them to learn meaningfully. As a result of this study, there showed statistically significant difference in high-level group in the right after test.(P< .05) In the delaying test after 3 weeks, there also showed statistically significant marks only in high-level group.(P< .05) The visualization in the learning of probability calculation took more affirmative effect in the experiment class than the comparative class only in high-level group. The students in low-level group has difficulties in the visualization activities, but all the students in high-and low-level group thought the visualization was a great help to them in learning probability calculation.
