Objectives : This paper aims to examine the overall form of the 『Yosandangsinjipeuibangkeumnangjibo』 (『Yosandang』). Methods : The table of contents, organization of the body, citations in the 『Yosandang』 were examined, then compared to the organization of 『Donguibogam』 (『Bogam』) and 『Jejungsinpyeon』 (『Jejung』). Results & Conclusions : Based on the organization of the body, it could be determined that Byun Gwangwon referenced 『Bogam』 and 『Jejung』. However, it was found that 『Yosandang』 strived to be more faithful to the 『Bogam』 than the 『Jejung』 while it also tried to minimize the complicatedness of 『Bogam』. Its organization was unique in that it created new chapters and added contents. Also, through examination of the citations, it could be assumed that those in the 『Yosandang』 were secondary citations of the 『Bogam』 and 『Jejung』. Despite these features, it also cited the 『Zhengzhizhunsheng』 and showed efforts to include new knowledge with citation labels such as '新增[newly added]' '自述[original writing]' and 'Yosan(樂山)'. Discussion : The findings of the comparison and examination process of the organization and citations of the book revealed that the uniqueness of the organization of 『Yosandang』 is most obvious in the pediatrics chapter. This indicates that the author's intention was to deal with pediatric diseases professionally.
Objectives : In this paper, the main objective is to analyze and evaluate Kim Gwangjin(金光鎭, 1885-1940)'s academical achievements of integration of eastern with western medicine and innovation of traditional medicine(TM, 漢醫). Methods : This paper is composed of two parts. First, analyzing Kim's medical book, the principle of Up and Down in Medicine(醫學升降法) by the way of text analysis and interpretation faithfully. Second, adding historical perspectives about his achievements. Results : Kim opened a clinic and practiced TM in Daegu, a city of Youngnam(嶺南) area of Korea, in 1924, and published the book in 1936. While Kim acknowledged the scientific results by western medicine and criticized the typical explanation of five viscera or qi circuits of TM, he clarified the treatment range for TM and provided his own interpretations of pathophysiology through the ups and downs of qi, without conflicting between western medicine and TM. Moreover, he critically follows the TM discourses of the most noted practitioner, Lee Gyoojoon(李圭晙), in the Youngnam area of the time. Conclusions : In the 1930s, although western medicine has become the new core orientation and has forced out TM to the districts, within the abyss of the districts, TM still maintained its strong presence.

Pyomindaehwa is a study book written in Korean and it takes a form of an investigation document made up of a conversation between Chosen's castaways and an interpreter taking place in Naesirogawa and Satsuma on the south end of Kyushu, Japan in the 19th century. This book is in three volumes. Many terminologies such as timber parts, sail, rigging and equipment have been shown in the last volume, which is mainly about a repairing process of drifting ship. Especially, timber parts' terminologies including hull's term were schematized in Kumamoto Text(1854b). This study have attempted to find out Naval architectural clues helping estimate actual drifting ship's type and bulk on the evidence of the contents. Based on the studies, it is possible to presume the type of Korean boats and ships, which are similar with the ones from database of 21 traditional fishing boats in the report on Investigation of Korean fishing boats studied previously. This paper has shown the logical process of presumption of types of boats.
Database of journals/books are categorized into bibliographic database and clearinghouse-type databases which tell you locations of original materials. There is such a problem in the latter type of databases that those are not likely to be commercialized, although ultimate purpose which users have is to obtain original materials. We find photocopying service through on-line or full-text databases currently available, but we can't get information which meets our needs only by those databases. This paper describes major database services and how to use them by document type(journal or book). The author also discusses what future information centers utilizing databases should be.

The Qur'an is regarded as the holy book by Islam followers; they assert that God wants humankind to understand its meanings and implement best practices. Numerous individuals have attempted to understand the meaning of its verses and explore its Extraordinary Vocabulary; however, few people successfully studied and researched the different meanings of that holy text. Only a limited segment of the society comprising scholars, students, and intellectuals have grasped the teachings of the Qur'an. A majority of the general population, specifically youngsters, spend ample time using mobile phones. In this context, many innovative educational platforms have recently been launched to attract the general public to learn and use knowledge. Research has provided the positive impact of such smart platforms. This concept is about an innovative smartphone platform to help users understand and reason the Qur'an by helping with the book vocabulary explained by expert scholars. This work proposes creating an engaging digital format using innovative technologies. This idea is inspired by youngsters who demonstrate an immense interest in online learning. Qur'an vocabulary is the prerequisite to building a better understanding that allows users to get precise meaning.
Objective: This study aims to explore the intra-action between infants and picture book reading in a daycare setting, aiming to gain new insight into infants' reading experiences. Methods: The participants in the study were 12 infants from the Bluebird Class (1-year-old) at A Daycare Center. To comprehensively examine the context and flow of the infants' experiences, participant observation was conducted during free play sessions, held three to five times a week, in the morning, from December 19, 2022, to February 17, 2023. Results: Firstly, infants engaged in the intra-action with symbols such as text, images, lines, colors, and latent narratives in picture books, spontaneously encountering meaning-making. Secondly, they explored the potential of materials such as their own bodies, the dacare classroom environment, and blocks, creating narratives through the process of 'becoming'. Thirdly, infants generated shared experiences by creating interactions within their relationships with others in the daycare class. Conclusion/Implications: This study highlights a shift in perspective, recognizing infants as active readers who construct their own understanding. Additionally, it underscores the significance of cultivating an infant-centered environment and the meaningful role of teachers in supporting and facilitating such an environment.
Columns 12-18 record a conversation between an aged Confucius and his disciple Zi Gong concerning the Changes and especially the role of divination in its use. The last section, from the bottom of column 24, concerns the hexagrams Sun損, "Decrease," and Yi益, "Increase," which Confucius is here made to regard as the culmination of wisdom in the Zhouyi. The conversation between Confucius and Zi Gong, and especially Zi Gong's apparent misunderstanding of Confucius's interest in the text, has already attracted considerable scholarly interest. Zi Gong criticizes Confucius for changing his teaching about the importance of the Zhouyi and for performing divinations. Confucius responds that while he does indeed perform divinations. there is a major difference between his use of the text and that of others: he regards the I Ching as a repository of an ancient wisdom. This would seem to signal recognition of a dramatic change in the function and status of the text. Zi Gong said: "Does the Master also believe in milfoil divination?" The Master said: "I am right in only seventy out of one hundred prognostications. Even with the prognostications of Liangshan of Zhou one necessarily follows it most of the time and no more." The Master said: "As for the Changes, I do indeed put its prayers and divinations last, only observing its virtue and property. Intuiting the commendations to reach the number, and understanding the number to reach virtue, is to have humaneness and to put it into motion properly. If the commendation do not lead to the number, then merely acts as a magician; if the number does not lead to virtue, then one merely acts as a scribe. The divinations of scribes and magicians tend toward it but are not yet there; delight in it but are not correct. Perhaps it will be because of the Changes that sires of later generations will doubt me. I seek its virtue and nothing more. I am on the same road as the scribes and magicians but end up differently. The conduct of the gentleman's virtue is to seek blessings; that is why he sacrifices, but little; the righteousness of his humaneness is to seek auspiciousness; that is why he divines, but rarely. Do not the divinations of priest and magicians come last!" Although Confucius says two ways of the symbolic numbers and virtue-property, he emphasizes his way of virtue and property more important. In fact he who wrote in Yao 要, "essentials," Confucius's saying describes his own viewpoints of the Changes throughout the conversations between Confucius and his disciple Zi Gong, and is only to borrow the name of Confucius. Furthermore, quoting the original text in Yao 要, "essentials," in sequence, also comparing the materials of "the Analects of Confucius論語," with "the Shih chi史記," this thesis will be centered to a great extent on the relative similarity and differences between the Mawangdui Boshu Zhouyi Manuscript and the received text, and discussed the authencity of Yao 要, "essentials," of the contents shown in the chapter of 'Confucius became aged, and liked "The Book of Changes."' the relation of Confucius and the Changes will be clarified naturally through this progress.
"The Golden Mirror of Medicine(醫宗金鑑)" was compiled by the medical officers of the Cheong(淸) government headed by Ogyeom(吳謙: 1736-1795) in 1742, and was adopted as a textbook by the Institute of Imperial Physicians(太醫院) in 1749. This book provides a good summary of academic contents and clinical experiences from before the Cheong(淸) dynasty, and serves as a convenient and practical guide book. "The Notes of Treatise on Cold-Induced Diseases(傷寒論注)" is one part of "The Golden Mirror of Medicine(醫宗金鑑)", and this is placed at the beginning of the book, indicating its importance. The chapter on taeeum-disease[太陰病篇], which is the third part of "The Notes of the Treatise on Cold-Induced Diseases(傷寒論注)", has not yet been translated into Korean. Therefore, in this study, the characteristics of Ogyeom's(吳謙) notes are inspected through a comparative study of the chapter of taeeum-disease[太陰病篇] based on translation and the notes of famous scholars. The texts first provide an outline of taeeum-disease[太陰病], which is followed by diarrhea, vomiting and therapeutic methods of syndrome involving both the exterior and interior[表裏兼證], as well as abdominal distension and pain. The prognoses are then explained in succession. The eight texts that have been shown in the chapter of taeeum-disease[太陰病篇] of original text were relocated and the seven texts that existed in the chapters of taeyang(太陽), yangmyeong(陽明) and gwol-eum(厥陰) were moved to this chapter. Furthermore, Ogyeom(吳謙) moved the cold-dysphagia[寒格] text from a chapter of gwol-eum-disease[厥陰病] to a chapter of taeeum-disease[太陰病] and explained vomiting due to pathogenic cold. The origins of taeeum-disease[太陰病] are purported to occur through the yang-channel[陽經] to the eum-channel[陰經], and taeeum-disease[太陰病] was reported to include both interior-deficiency-cold-syndrome[裏虛寒證] and interior-excess-heat-syndrome[裏實熱證]. In the case of diarrhea-more-severe-symptoms[自利益甚], he thought it induced by faultpurgation[誤下], and in indication for decoction of cinnamon with peony[桂枝加芍藥湯] and decoction of cinnamon with rhubarb[桂枝加大黃湯], he thought it included the exterior syndrome of taeyang-disease[太陽表證], and rhubarb was used in purgation of taeeum-excess[太陰實].

As Korean literature spreads around the world, its position in the overseas publishing market has become important. As demand in the overseas publishing market continues to grow, it is essential to predict future book sales and analyze the characteristics of books that have been highly favored by overseas readers in the past. In this study, we proposed ensemble learning based prediction model and analyzed characteristics of the cumulative sales of more than 5,000 copies classified as good sellers published overseas over the past 5 years. We applied the five ensemble learning models, i.e., XGBoost, Gradient Boosting, Adaboost, LightGBM, and Random Forest, and compared them with other machine learning algorithms, i.e., Support Vector Machine, Logistic Regression, and Deep Learning. Our experimental results showed that the ensemble algorithm outperforms other approaches in troubleshooting imbalanced data. In particular, the LightGBM model obtained an AUC value of 99.86% which is the best prediction performance. Among the features used for prediction, the most important feature is the author's number of overseas publications, and the second important feature is publication in countries with the largest publication market size. The number of evaluation participants is also an important feature. In addition, text mining was performed on the four book reviews that sold the most among good-selling books. Many reviews were interested in stories, characters, and writers and it seems that support for translation is needed as many of the keywords of "translation" appear in low-rated reviews.
We considered the context of the publications and transmissions of mathematics books using the Korean traditional book lists and the catalogues of woodblocks in the Joseon Dynasty and DaeHan大韓 Empire period. Among the results, this paper first describes the context of the publication and transmission of mathematics textbooks of national math exams算學取才 in the first half of Joseon, adding a step more specific to the facts known so far. In 1430, 『YangHui SanFa楊輝算法』, 『XiangMing SuanFa詳明算法』, 『SuanXue QiMeng算學啓蒙』, 『DiSuan地算』, 『WuCao SuanJing五曹算經』 were selected as the textbooks of national math exams算學取才. 『YangHui SanFa』, 『XiangMing SuanFa』, 『DiSuan』 were included in the catalogues of woodblocks in the Joseon Dynasty before the Japanese invasion in 1592, and we could see that Gyeongju慶州, Chuncheon春川, and Wonju原州 were the printing centers of these books. Through other lists, literature records and real text books, it came out into the open that 『XiangMing SuanFa』 was published as movable print books three times at least, 『SuanXue QiMeng』 four times at least in the first half of Joseon Dynasty. And 『XiangMing SuanFa』 was published at about 100 years later than 『YangHui SanFa楊輝算法』 as xylographic books, 『SuanXue QiMeng』 was published twice as xylographic books in the second half of Joseon Dynasty. Whether or not the list of royal books included the Korean or Chinese versions of these books, and additional notation in that shows how the royal estimation of these books changed.
