  • Mobile air conditioning systems work under widely changing operating conditions. To understand the system behavior under such dynamic conditions, a test facility that can impose transient loads as well as conducting dynamic measurements is needed. To test mobile air conditioning systems including their dynamic performance under various drive cycle patterns without using full scale vehicles in a wind tunnel, a new test facility, called "dynamic simulator," is described. It can replicate real vehicle operating conditions by interacting with the system being tested based on the measured system performance and subsequently adjusting the air properties returning to the test system based on the results of a numerical cabin model. A new dynamic simulator has been designed, constructed, and verified for performing dynamic tests. It was successful in controlling the temperature and relative humidity of the air returning to the test unit within ${\pm}0.7^{\circ}C$ and ${\pm}4%$ of their respective intended values. The verification test under the New European Driving Cycle demonstrated that detailed transient behavior of the mobile air conditioning system could be measured by using this dynamic simulator.

  • Engine lubrication system is generally affected by vehicle driving conditions, which are composed of acceleration, braking deceleration and accelerating during cornering. The major reason is due to the oil pan system in which oil is directly influenced by inertia farce caused by vehicle driving conditions. Therefore, to confirm safety of engine lubrication system inertia farce effects are also considered in the developing state. For the purpose, we have carried the engine tilting tests using ourselves made test rig. Verifying the test results we also measured the inertia effects on the engine lubrication system using the circular tuning and slalom test with vehicle. Through the comparison study between two kinds of results we obtained that the engine tilting test rig was very useful to confirm the safety evaluation of engine lubrication system.

  • In this paper, a fire resistance test was carried out in accordance with the change of the insulation conditions on the exposed side and unexposed side of a coaming to obtain the optimal insulation conditions for class H-120 insulation in connection with specimen1 of the preceding paper for an evaluation of the fireproof performance of fire dampers according to hydrocarbon fire conditions. In the test results, specimen2(88 mm, $171^{\circ}C$) met the class H-120 insulation conditions, but specimen3(76mm, $181^{\circ}C$) exceeded the thermal insulation acceptance criteria at 110 minutes. Therefore, specimen2(88 mm) represents the optimal insulation conditions as a possible lightweight materialas compared to specimen1. From a comparison of the test results, we concluded that the temperature increase of the coaming insulation surface was influenced by conductive heat from the bulkhead and that the coaming surface was influenced by radiant heat from the blade and coaming.

  • In this paper, studied Measuring Equipment for Brake Test provided to test a braking distance and stability on various conditions while at stop/drive. It ensures an objectivity, repeatability and reproducibility for a brake test, which may be applied to various types of braking distance and stability tests anywhere in the world. With Measuring S/W for Brake Test mounted on the vehicle while at stop/drive, braking distance and stability were examined under conditions specified of NCAP and vehicle manufactures A and B's own test, which was available under all conditions and even harder ones to confirm this measuring S/W for brake test be applicable for any changed conditions for the future.

  • This paper concerns the within test strength of concrete cured under different conditions. Those conditions are water curing, field curing and cores drilled from the existing structures. The test factors are not only above cured conditions but also concrete ages of 3, 7, 14 and 28 days and concrete strength of 202, 252 and 650kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The test results are as follows; (1) In spite of within test results, concrete strength is very different from curing states of concrete (2) The strength of cores drilled from existing structures are smaller than the strength of concrete cured in water by 3~4% and larger than that of concrete cured in field by 8~17% (3) Core strength is largely dependant on the curing state of top surface of concrete.

  • This study was designed to assess the developmental sequence of children's understanding of social interaction and to test the effects of support conditions and behavioral domains on the understanding of social interaction. The subjects were one hundred 4- to 8-year-old children. The method was a doll play situation, composed of three different support conditions. Scalogram analysis was used to test the developmental sequence, and ANOVA and paired t-test were used to test the significance of differences in stages. The results of this study evidenced a sequential pattern in the 4- to 8-year-old children's understanding of social interaction. There were also significant differences between stages in the understanding of social interaction according to support conditions and behavioral domains. Higher levels of support produced higher stages of understanding and the understanding of positive social interactions were higher than those of negative social interactions at ages 4 and 5.

  • This study analyzed a life test method for a power take-off (PTO) gearbox. An engine transfers mechanical power (rotation and torque) to a hydraulic pump through a PTO Gearbox with one input shaft and three output shafts. PTO gear box durability under high loads over long time periods was tested using dynamometers. In order to reflect the rated operating conditions, power must be distributed to each output shaft, and experiments were conducted under various conditions to verify the characteristics of the distributed power. An accelerated life test was designed using speed and torque as acceleration factors. Also, efficiency tests were conducted under various load conditions. Also, a lubrication oil composition analysis was performed to analyze gearbox wear status.

  • A half-scaled large test model for the main components of the real annular structure was built and the thermal behaviors were experimented and obtained by thermal cyclic loads. The model design and the test conditions for the thermal loads were determined to take into consideration the thermal and mechanical loads acting on the real annular structure by finite element analyses. Temperature profiles and strains of the main components of the model were measured at an early stage of the test and periodically throughout the test in the given test conditions. After completion of the thermal cyclic tests, no evidence of crack initiation and propagation were identified by a dye penetration test. The measured strains at the critical parts were slightly increased proportionally with the increase in the number of the thermal cycles.
