This study aims to illustrate the value of teaching English drama in the course of teaching primary English and suggests a model for primary English drama in an English camp for Children. Drama is the world of assumption where language is used just like in real life. It has a positive effect on foreign language learning by encouraging the operation of certain psychological factors which facilitate oral communication. Dramatic techniques such as storytelling, role play, chant, song and games can be used in the EFL classroom to help bring about such results. Meanwhile, making a primary English drama in an English camp for Children would be practical mode to attain the essential purpose of EFL teaching particularly to get over the drawbacks of Korean students' communicative competence under the school's inflexible EFL education curriculum. In this paper, I will present the effectiveness of English drama and the skills for using it with ESL students and suggest some notes that can be used to reinforce the goals set out from the position of the teacher, student and teaching material. It is confirmed that the trained leader, students' affirmative attitude and systematic teaching materials are needed to maximize the effects of drama activities. In addition to that, there will be showed a model of instruction targeted to the primary students learning English in an English camp for Children.

The purpose of this study was to design a development frame for multicultural science program and develop a corresponding program using the frame. This study organized a development frame to design a multicultural science education program based on the culturally responsive teaching theory. This development frame consisted of the elements of purpose, teaching examples, teaching and learning methods, and assessment. This program consisted of the guideline for class teaching courses, reading materials, student worksheet, and teachers' reference materials. Based on this development frame, a multicultural science education program was developed, which was comprised of seven activities for elementary and middle school students. Each activity of the program included the concept and inquiry related to science education. In particular, by connecting the concept of science with the cultural characteristics of various countries, the activity made students aware of cultural diversity and the commonness of science principles. Compared to other subjects, the science education field has not actively undertaken studies on multicultural education. In term of dealing with universal principles, science education is suitable for making students aware of commonness. Accordingly, this gives rise to the need to draw cultural characteristics based on basic studies such as the analysis of science textbooks in various countries and develop culturally responsive programs utilizing the outcomes.
Objective: In this study, we tried to verify the effects of program by constructing an effective maker education program that can cultivate the maker's capabilities through voluntary production activities by utilizing various technologies and tools. Methods: First, prior research on maker education and the station teaching strategy was considered, and interviews and surveys were conducted on prospective early childhood teachers in order to find out the degree of demand for maker education. The final program was finalized through verification of the contents validity. Results: The developed program was applied to a total of 49 prospective early childhood teachers (24 in the experimental group, 25 in the comparative group) attending U College, and it was found to be effective in enhancing convergence talent, education knowledge of early childhood teachers' technology, and self-directed learning skills. Conclusion/Implications: These findings show that the preliminary early childhood teacher maker education program using station teaching strategy has educational value that can be used as an effective teaching method in early childhood education.
The purpose of this study was to explore the possibility of implementing 'responsive teaching (RT)' in elementary school science classrooms. A review of relevant literature yielded a tentative framework of RT which consisted of three characteristics of RT and example practices for each characteristic. The RT framework was used to analyze elementary science lessons on the topic of the transpiration in plant leaves. The data sources were audio recordings of three $5^{th}$ grade classrooms which included both the whole-class instruction and student group activities. The data were examined through collaboration between the teacher who had taught the lessons and a university-based science education researcher. It was revealed that the implementation of RT was limited when the teacher's intervention was focused on completing tasks; when it was out of the contexts of student activities; when the teacher provided earlier what students were supposed to find out by themselves; and when the teacher's comments were evaluation-centered. By contrast, the implementation of RT was made highly possible when the teacher's intervention induced an intellectual debate among students; when the teacher negotiated meanings with students; when the teacher connected what students shared to scientific knowledge; and when the teacher prompted students to solve a new problem. Implications about implementing and studying RT were discussed.
In this paper, we improved, compared and analyzed the articulation of school mathematics. We also tried to form the theoretical basis of school mathematics by classifying and considering the articulation into vertical articulation and horizontal articulation depending on the meaning, and give an actual help. The articulation of school mathematics until now has been focused on a study of vertical articulation according to the macroscopic characteristic of mathematics, but now a study of the horizontal articulation as well as the vertical articulation should be done in consideration of the micro characteristics of mathematics and various realities of life by modifying a syllabus of the function unit and by using internet homepage. Thus, we structurally divided the articulation into vertical articulation and horizontal articulation, analyzed mathematical activities and presented actual models of each representative learning activity for smooth teaching in schools through the function unit.
The purpose of this study is to develop instructional methods for the formalized algorithm through informal knowledge in teaching division of fractions. The following results have been drawn from this study: First, before students learn formal knowledge about division of fractions, they knowledge or strategies to solve problems such as direct modeling strategies, languages to reason mathematically, and using operational expressions. Second, students could solve problems using informal knowledge which is based on partitioning. But they could not solve problems as the numbers involved in problems became complex. In the beginning, they could not reinvent invert-and-multiply rule only by concrete models. However, with the researcher's guidance, they can understand the meaning of a reciprocal number by using concrete models. Moreover, they had an ability to apply the pattern of solving problems when dividend is 1 into division problems of fractions when dividend is fraction. Third, instructional activities were developed by using the results of the teaching experiment performed in the second research step. They consist of student's worksheets and teachers' guides. In conclusion, formalizing students' informal knowledge can make students understand formal knowledge meaningfully and it has a potential that promote mathematical thinking. The teaching-learning activities developed in this study can be an example to help teachers formalize students' informal knowledge.
This study is mainly concerned with researching the perception and the actual conditions of the body education in the kindergarten. For the purpose of this study, the research was carried out using 150 early childhood teachers located in Pusan. Data were collected from survey and interview with early childhood teachers June 2014 to March 2015. Interview proceeded total 5 sessions by study participant and that was required about 1 hours. Questionnaire extracts basis category that analyzes literatures and researches related to body systematically and arranged question category and contents according to investigator's study objective. The results of the study were, first, There is need for deterritorialization and reterritorialization in perception of the teachers of the children's body. second, we need learning and teaching based on children body in teaching and learning activities. It begins with perception change of teacher. And these activity in the classroom are required accordingly. Third, the method for reducing the gap between teacher's perception of body and teaching activities have to be provided.
Concepts related to the fraction should be taught with formative thinking activities as well as concrete operational activities. Teaching improper fraction should follow the concept of fraction as a relation of two natural numbers. This concept is also important not to be skipped before teaching the fraction such as "4 is a third of 12". Mixed number should be taught as a sum of a natural number and a proper fraction. Fraction as a quotient of a division is a hard concept to be taught since it requires very high abstractive thinking process. Learning the transformation of division into multiplication of fractions should precede that of fraction as a quotient of a division.
In this paper, we designed an open class teaching model in level-based team arrangements. In this way, teaching lesson plans were newly developed in order to teach students in open classroom environments. Both teachers and students required enough time to be acquainted with the new approach. However, empirical data analyses of mid-term and final examinations as well as survey data mathematical achievements indicated that most of the students have shown interests in mathematical activities and confidences on their mathematical abilities. Furthermore, there were few students who seemed to be isolated from mathematical activities. In particular, most students didn't seem to get lower grades than expected from other teachers who hesitated to apply the new model.
The aim of this paper is to show the possibilities of the proficiency -based and integrated teaching of High School English reading and listening based on sense group and utterance restructuring. The proficiency -based and integrated listening and reading activities in stages are as follows. Step1, students fill in the blanks with strong or weak sounding words according to their abilities. Step2, speak along (track) based on restructuring and post-lexical phenomena while listening to the sentence. Step3, read and understand directly the passage, which have been marked the differentiated places where a native speaker of English would beat all likely to pause. Students need to listen to spoken English, so they recognize words in written and spoken form. They must be familiar with suprasegmental features, stress and rhythm, and post-lexical phenomena during reading activities.
