The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of the use of reading aloud as a way of teaching English reading in a formal college-level English reading classroom. The study tried to examine the effects of reading aloud on the development of English reading ability in terms of comprehension and speed and the students' perceptions of the use of reading aloud in an English reading classroom. The participants of the study were 36 third year students at a college. The results of the cloze test and reading speed test showed that reading aloud had a positive effect on the improvement of English reading ability. The students received higher scores in the cloze test after the course and read a text faster than before the course. The analysis of the course evaluation questionnaire indicated that the students in the study showed positive attitudes toward the use of reading aloud in an English reading classroom. Most of the students reported that reading aloud was an effective way of improving their English reading comprehension and speed. However, the students were not fully satisfied with the reading materials used in the study. The results of the present study indicated that reading aloud may be incorporated into a formal English reading classroom effectively.

The purpose of this study was to analyse the effects of the SW-STEAM program by utilizing software supporting the creation of VR for elementary science class. Two classes of 5th grade were selected, and were engaged in different teaching and learning methods during 12 class hours. The experimental group which is consisted of 20 students participated in the SW-STEAM program by utilizing software supporting the creation of VR, the comparative group which comprised 19 students was thaught by using a traditional instruction. Teaching unit was 'the solar system and stars' in 5th grade science text book. The results of this study were as follows. The SW-STEAM program by utilizing software the creation of VR had a positive effect on elementary school students' creative problem solving ability, scientific interest, science achievement. Therefore, the SW-STEAM program by utilizing software supporting the creation of VR could be meaningful works to encourage students' creative problem solving ability, scientific interest, science achievement, and this study will help elementary teachers teach 'the solar system and stars' in 5th grade science text book more interesting.

현재 우리나라 컴퓨터 교육과정의 성격과 목표 중 가장 강조하는 부분은 정보소양 능력과 문제해결 능력을 배양하여 미래사회를 선도할 수 있는 능력을 키우는 것이다. 그러나 현행의 컴퓨터교육은 응용 프로그램 활용 교육에만 초점이 맞추어져 있어 이 목표를 달성하지 못하고 있으며 문제해결 능력과 논리적 사고력을 높이기 위해 컴퓨터과학 교육에 대한 중요성이 커지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 언플러그드 학습 방법을 컴퓨터과학 영역 중의 정보표현 영역에 적용하였다. 그 결과 언플러그드 학습 방법이 강의식 학습 방법에 비해 학업성취도가 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이며 높게 나타났다. 또한 정의적 영역에서도 강의식 학습 방법에 비해 긍정적으로 나타났다.

This study is to develop the methods of specifying teaching that can consider individual differences in middle school geometry education. The purpose of this study is to decide the variations causing individual differences and to find the proper learning methods considering the variations. Through literature review, this study made it clear that the matter of individual difference is just the matter of talent and examined what factors make up mathematical talents. On the basis of the result, five important variations and fourteen subordinate factors were determined. I researched into the learning methods that consider the determined subordinate factors using the 'congruence' unit of middle school textbooks and developed specific learning methods for each of the subordinate factors through specific congruence problem solving situations. This study can be summarized as follows : I researched the studies of mathematical ability conducted by several educators and psychologists. This research is divided into the early study and the developed study of mathematical ability. Through this study five specific variations were determined. And fourteen subordinate factors have been made from the determined variations. The specific learning methods based on individual differences was developed according to the fourteen subordinate factors on the basis of middle school textbooks of Korea, Gusev's textbook, problem books of Russia, and etc.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether using English newspapers as supplementary teaching materials for the present textbook could increase students' English reading ability, interest in class and their willingness to take an active part in activities. Schools in rural areas, compared to urban schools, did not have the appropriate resources to teach students effectively. Understanding the disadvantages of the students in rural areas, one idea was to use newspapers to inspire the students to reach outside their local community and incorporate new styles of English and cultural aspects into their lives. The participants were 2nd grade high school students in the rural area. The experimental group received reading lessons with the textbook and English newspapers. They were also encouraged to make their own portfolios. The control group received reading lessons with the textbook and other supplementary materials. Before and after the experiment, reading comprehension tests as well as the questionnaires of interest and self-directed learning were administered. The results of this study were as follows: First, students' English reading ability was significantly improved in the experimental class using English newspapers. Second, students' interest and self-directed learning were positively increased in the same class above.

The equations of figures given by rectangular coordinates are used to look into the properties of them, which are very restricted in examining them in the school mathematics. Therefore, it is quite natural to consider the figures in terms of parameters without restriction to coordinates and also, it is possible for the students to analyze them. Thus, the visualization of figures is important for students in mathematics education. In particular, the teaching-learning methods using computers make loose the difficulties of geometry education, and from the viewpoint that various abstract figures can be visualized and that can be obtained by means of this visualization the learning of figures can be accomplished through the direct experience or control. This study is intended to present concretely the aim and its utility to visualize figures represented as parameters with Mathematics. In this paper, we introduce a new teaching-learning method of figures represented by parameters using Mathematica so that the learners establish themselves their knowledge obtained through their search, investigation, supposition and they accomplish the positive transition to advanced learning. So the leasers extend their ability of sensuous intuition to their ability of logical reasoning through their logical intuition. Consequently they can develop the ability of thinking mathematically, so many natural phenomena and physical ones.

본 연구에서는 수학교과서 중 함수 단원을 중심으로 수학적 모델링 지도 자료를 개발하고, 이에 알맞은 교수 학습 모형을 정립한다. 그리고 개발한 수학적 모델링 지도 자료를 활용한 수업이 고등학생의 학업성취도, 수학교과에 대한 학습태도와 불안도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수학 모델링 자료를 사용한 수업집단과 전통적인 교과서 중심 수업을 한 수업집단 사이에 학업성취도에 있어 차이가 있는가? 둘째, 수학 모델링 자료를 사용한 수업집단과 전통적인 교과서 중심수업을 한 수업집단 사이에 수학교과에 대한 학습태도와 불안도 에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는 것이다. 셋째, 수학적 모델링 자료를 사용한 수업에 대한 학생들의 반응은 어떠한 가이다.

이 연구는 사서교사의 교육실습에 영향을 미치는 변수 간의 인과관계를 분석하여 효과적인 교육실습의 전개방향을 모색하고, 사서교사의 전문성 선장방법으로써 교육실습의 효과를 규명하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 두개의 연구모형을 구성하였다. 첫 번째 모형에서는 교육실습의 영향요인으로 사전교육, 실습프로그램, 지도교사, 실습환경, 실습기관의 조직적 분위기를 선정하여 변수 간의 인과관계를 분석하였고, 두 번째 모형에서는 사서교사의 주요 전문성 신장경로인 대학교육과정, 교육실습, 현장경험 및 자기계발이 역할인식과 직무수행 역량에 어느 정도의 효과를 미치는지 분석하였다. 연구결과 사서교사의 교육실습에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변수는 실습프로그램으로 나타났고, 전문성 선장경로 중 교육실습은 직무수행 역량에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 분석결과를 바탕으로 교육실습은 사서 교사의 전문성 신장과정으로써 실제적인 효과가 있으며, 교육실습의 효과적 전개방안으로 교육실습에 대한 인식제고, 양질의 실습프로그램 개발, 충분한 사전준비, 지도교사의 노력이 필요하다는 점을 제안하였다.

This is a work-in progress paper which the researcher is working with an English teacher in Waseda University in Japan. We started the same project in the year of 2001. This is a replication of the previous paper about the exchange project with Waseda University students. The exchange program with Waseda University students encouraged Howon University students in various ways. In this paper, the researcher also tried to show how to use authentic materials from the internet, TV, magazines and other resources of mass media. Using those materials were helpful to the students to improve their English ability. The result of this study will give positive impact to further studies.

전문대학에서 플립드 러닝 수업 교수학습전략 효과성을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 효과성 검증은 전문대학생의 자기주도학습능력(인지적 영역, 동기적 영역, 행동적 영역)과 인지적 학습역량(고등사고력과 초인지를 포함한 지식과 사고, 창의역령과 창의 성향을 포함한 창의성, 문제해결과정과 조작과 실천을 포함한 문제해결)으로 살펴보았으며 플립드 러닝을 적용한 교수학습전략은 pre-class, in-class, post-class으로 구분하여 구체적으로 제시하였다. 연구대상은 K 전문대학 2017학년도 2학기에 개설된 '교육평가'를 수강한 재학생 57명을 대상으로 진행하였다. 전체 16주 수업에서 12주를 적용하였으며, 매주 화요일 2시간씩(100분) 주 1회 수업으로 진행되었다. 자료 분석은 유의도 .05수준에서 대응표본 t-검증을 실시하여 교육 전후의 데이터를 대응시켜 비교하였다. 연구결과 플립드 러닝을 적용한 수업이 전문대학생의 자기주도학습능력(동기영역, 행동영역)과 인지적 학습역량(고등사고, 초인지, 창의성 성향, 문제해결과정)에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구 결과는 향후 플립드 러닝을 적용한 교수학습전략과 수업설계 연구에 의미 있는 시사점을 제공할 것으로 본다.
