The goal of this study was to explore topic defining patterns of students in interdisciplinary Capstone Design Class. Thematic analysis methodology was used to examine 85 Korean college students' lived experience of project topic generation which is for interdisciplinary capstone design class and Individual open-ended survey for constituted the data sources. Findings show four contexts of student's topic defining patterns using thematic analysis including (a) one leader's directed problem representation, (b) team common decision making after brainstorming, (c) empathy with professor proposed issue, (d) problems offered to students by corporate or research competitions. Based on research result, I could suggest instructional strategies of Capstone Design Class of teacher for helping their students' topic defining. It was necessary to minimize the opinions of the instructors at the beginning of class and minimize the number of team members. And also it provided a lot of opportunities to collaborate with companies in the topic selection process, it will help to develop the students' ability to determine the valuable topic in project.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of early childhood teachers' job satisfaction on the relationship between teacher's emotional intelligence and young children's happiness. The subjects in this study comprised 294 young children and 24 early childhood teachers in Busan, Gyeongsangnam-do. The findings of study were as follow: the job satisfaction of the early childhood teachers was found to have a mediating effect on the relationship between their emotional intelligence and young children's happiness. These findings suggest that in order to promote young children's happiness, it is necessary to strengthen teachers' emotional abilities and to support strategies which enhance and build up their job satisfaction.

This study aims to investigate the effects of learning strategy-based early reading instruction for English underachieving students. For this purpose of the study, sixteen learning strategies were driven from the review of previous related literature and the result of the survey conducted to the students and the teachers. Strategy integrated early reading instruction was implemented to nine students for thirteen weeks. The word recognition test was conducted before and after the instruction to examine whether the instruction had effects on the increase of their early reading skill. In addition, in order to investigate certain change in students' affective aspects after the instruction. The research conducted survey to the students. A teacher's field note and students' class journal were also analyzed to verify the results from the quantitative test. The results indicated that the instruction led to the increase of students' early reading skills. It was also found that the instruction motivated the underachieving students to devise a strategy for their learning process.

The purpose of this study was to analyze elementary school teacher' expectation and reality before and after science experiment in-service training program. The surveys for before and after in-service training were conducted among 231 elementary school teachers who participated for science experiment in-service training. 5 elementary school teachers who took part in surveys were interviewed after training. The results of this study are as follows: First, teachers' interest for science increased regardless of willingness to training participation through science experiment training. Second, discussion for science teaching strategies were not enough while the training recognized with experiments and lecture of instructors mainly. Third, teachers prefered alternative experiments and practical experience of experiments to lecture and basic experiments based on textbook. Forth, assessment of teachers in training must be improved.

This paper is intended to suggest how to improve Korean high school students' awareness of the pronunciation in order to foster communicative effectiveness. Initially it is focused on the tasks of listening to the suprasegmental aspects. The strategies used in the listening process are (1)discerning intonation units, (2)recognizing rhythm pattern, and (3)identifying contraction and linking in connected speech. The tasks including in each process are listening discrimination, guided practice activity, and listening and speaking activity. The teacher should avoid methods which yield discouraging outcomes and try to help students enjoy experience of success in doing exercises and activities. So I suggested: students put the slash on the pause perceptible to chunk the stream of speech into the intonation units, and mark the content words to internalize English rhythm. And then I suggested that students listen to pop song English in order to improve the awareness of function words and connected speech in the intonation unit.

In this study we reveal that there were positive changes after the practicums of pre-service math teachers, in that, they changed contents of class and the way of explanation in order to enhance students' understanding, and provided opportunities for students to participate in the class. In addition, they made more use of textbooks in their class instead of depending on their experience acquired before the practicums. However, no difference was found before and after their practicums, neither in their review of lessons nor in their use of simple 'question and answer' strategies. In this regard, we suggest continuous researches be conducted in order to enhance pre-service mathematics teachers' teaching ability, especially those which is hard to be acquired in a short period of time. And, reflecting the results of the research, systematic development and operation of the curriculum are required in the teacher training institutes.

The purposes of this research were as follows : (1) to investigate the effectiveness of the program for elementary preservice teachers, which was designed to develop postmodern views of science and constructivist views of teaming and teaching and (2) to find out the relation between students' learning approaches and their beliefs about science and school science. One hundred and forty three students enrolled in Science Education 11 in the University of Education participaled in the study. Students' beliefs of science and school science was not changed after treatment of the program. But they showed postmodern views of science and school science in comparison with the science teacher. Additionally the results showed that meaningful learners showed the constructivist view about school science as compared with the rote learners.

In this study, a men-tutoring model was applied to four second-year high school students in mathematics learning counseling that could cultivate cognitive and affective domains. By observing and analyzing the cases, we examined the effects of mathematics learning counseling on students' mathematical attitudes and self-regulated learning ability. The results of mentoring applied to mathematics learning counseling had a positive effect on reinforcing prerequisite learning, improving self-regulated learning ability, strengthening mathematical strategies, and inducing learning motivation and maintaining interest. We are looking forward to that men-tutoring can be used effectively for students who have difficulty learning mathematics.

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is the applied science where strategies are derived from the principles of behaviour and are applied to improve meaningful social behaviours [3]. This study investigates the possible inclusive value of the use ABA in schools in Saudi Arabia. Interviews were conducted with two ABA therapists and a support teacher in order to address this possibility. From the research findings, it emerged how ABA is one of the cognitive-behavioural intervention models and therefore, can be generalised to other disorders or diagnoses and the applied behavioural analysis does have an inclusive value as it structures individualized activities for the increase of both personal and social skills and these activities allow the subject to work on his or her skills, which are, however, absolutely preparatory to the inclusion of the subject in the classroom context.

With the rapid advancement of educational technology, recent studies have connected teachers' professional noticing with the use of digital resources in mathematical instructions. In this study, I examined elementary mathematics preservice teachers' attending and interpreting a mathematical software, ST Math, in the exploring and implementing phases. The findings indicate that preservice teachers paid attention to visual representations and manipulation prior to interactions with children and further took into consideration on task structures and situated context after interactions. They interpreted the events based on connected mathematical knowledge of prior interactions and further reflected on the progression of problem-solving strategies and sequence of tasks. In addition, four distinctive profiles of transitioning of evaluation on ST Math activities were identified with illustrations. Implications for noticing and teacher education were discussed.
