  • Background: This study was designed to analyze the clinical usefulness of mycophenolic acid trough concentration monitoring in kidney transplantation patients who were maintained with cyclosporine. Methods: The data of patients who underwent mycophenolic acid trough concentration monitoring after their first kidney transplant between November 2006 and August 2013 and were prescribed with cyclosporine, mycophenolate, and methylprednisolone were reviewed retrospectively. Cox analysis was used to analyze the risk factors for acute rejection within 1 year post-transplantation. Results: Among 90 patients, 41 (45.6%) achieved both the target levels of cyclosporine and mycophenolic acid, while three patients (3.3%) failed to achieve the target level of either cyclosporine or mycophenolic acid. Nine patients (10.0%) only achieved the mycophenolic acid target level and 37 patients (41.1%) only achieved the cyclosporine target level. While patients who achieved only the mycophenolic acid target concentration had no statistically increased risk compared to patients who achieved both target levels (hazard ratio [HR], 1.569; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.316 to 7.778; P=0.581), patients who only achieved the cyclosporine target concentration showed an increased risk of rejection compared to the both achievement group (HR, 4.112; 95% CI, 1.583 to 10.683; P=0.004). Patients who had no achievement in the target levels showed significantly increased rejection risk compared to the patients who achieved both target levels (HR, 17.811; 95% CI, 3.072 to 103.28; P=0.001). Conclusions: Mycophenolic acid trough concentration monitoring combined with cyclosporine trough concentration monitoring is useful for avoiding acute cellular rejection if the first 1 year post-transplantation.

  • Objectives: This study aimed to estimate the number and proportion of target workplaces for work environment monitoring and evaluate the implementation rate of work environment monitoring. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor between March and May 2017 among 96,295 manufacturing businesses with more than five employees. The response rate was 17.8%. Estimates of the number and proportion of target workplaces for work environment monitoring were calculated as follows: number of workplaces where work environment monitoring was performed in 2016 + exposure rate based on the questionnaire * number of workplaces where work environment monitoring was not conducted. Results: Of the 150,655 total manufacturing businesses with more than five employees, 63,146 are estimated to be subject to work environment monitoring, which accounted for 41.9% of the workplaces. It is estimated that 73.3% of the target workplaces performed work environment monitoring. The number of workers exposed to hazardous substances is estimated to be about 0.7~1.2 million. Conclusions: Information on the distribution of workplaces subject to work environment monitoring and the rate of implementation can be used as baseline information for management and evaluation of the effectiveness of the work environment monitoring system.

  • This work is concerned with the problem of tracking a maneuvering target. In this paper, an error monitoring and recovery method of perception net is utilized to improve tracking performance for a highly maneuvering tar-get. Many researches have been performed in tracking a maneuvering target. The conventional Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filter is well known as a suboptimal hybrid filter that has been shown to be one of the most cost-effective hybrid state estimation scheme. The subfilters of IMM can be considered as fusing its initial value with new measurements. This approach is also shown in this paper. Perception net based error monitoring and recovery technique, which is a kind of geometric data fusion, makes it possible to monitor errors and to calibrate possible biases involved in sensed data and extracted features. Both detecting a maneuvering target and compensating the estimated state can be achieved by employing the properly implemented error monitoring and recovery technique. The IMM filter which employing the error monitoring and recovery technique shows good tracking performance for a highly maneuvering target as well as it reduces maximum values of estimation errors when maneuvering starts and finishes. The effectiveness of the pro-posed method is validated through simulation by comparing it with the conventional IMM algorithm.

  • Due to uncertainties in target motion and randomness of deployed sensor nodes, the problem of imbalance of energy consumption arises from sensor scheduling. This paper presents an energy-efficient adaptive sensor scheduling for a target monitoring algorithm in a local monitoring region of wireless sensor networks. Owing to excessive scheduling of an individual node, one node with a high value generated by a decision function is preferentially selected as a tasking node to balance the local energy consumption of a dynamic clustering, and the node with the highest value is chosen as the cluster head. Others with lower ones are in reserve. In addition, an optimization problem is derived to satisfy the problem of sensor scheduling subject to the joint detection probability for tasking sensors. Particles of the target in particle filter algorithm are resampled for a higher tracking accuracy. Simulation results show this algorithm can improve the required tracking accuracy, and nodes are efficiently scheduled. Hence, there is a 41.67% savings in energy consumption.

  • Statistical process control (SPC) and engineering process control (EPC) are based on different strategies for processes quality improvement. SPC reduces process variability by detecting and eliminating special causes of process variation. while EPC reduces process variability by adjusting compensatory variables to keep the quality variable close to target. Recently there has been needs for a process control proceduce which combines the tow strategies. This paper considers a combined scheme which simultaneously applies SPC and EPC techniques to reduce the variation of a process. The process model under consideration is an integrated moving average(IMA) process with a step shift. The EPC part of the scheme adjusts the process back to target at every fixed monitoring intervals, which is referred to a repeated adjustment scheme. The SPC part of the scheme uses an exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA) of observed deviation from target to detect special causes. A Markov chain model is developed to relate the scheme's expected cost per unit time to the design parameters of he combined control scheme. The expected cost per unit time is composed of off-target cost, adjustment cost, monitoring cost, and false alarm cost.

  • In the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system of civil engineering, data missing inevitably occurs during the data acquisition and transmission process, which brings great difficulties to data analysis and poses challenges to structural health monitoring. In this paper, Convolution Neural Network (CNN) is used to recover the nonstationary wind speed data missing randomly at sampling points. Given the technical constraints and financial implications, field monitoring data samples are often insufficient to train a deep learning model for the task at hand. Thus, simulation combined transfer learning strategy is proposed to address issues of overfitting and instability of the deep learning model caused by the paucity of training samples. According to a portion of target data samples, a substantial quantity of simulated data consistent with the characteristics of target data can be obtained by nonstationary wind-field simulation and are subsequently deployed for training an auxiliary CNN model. Afterwards, parameters of the pretrained auxiliary model are transferred to the target model as initial parameters, greatly enhancing training efficiency for the target task. Simulation synergy strategy effectively promotes the accuracy and stability of the target model to a great extent. Finally, the structural dynamic response analysis verifies the efficiency of the simulation synergy strategy.

  • Nowadays, the existing manual method for recording actual progress of the construction site has some drawbacks, such as great reliance on the experience of professional engineers, work-intensive, time consuming and error prone. A method integrating computer vision and BIM(Building Information Modeling) is presented for indoor automatic progress monitoring. The developed method can accurately calculate the engineering quantity of target component in the time-lapse images. Firstly, sample images of on-site target are collected for training the classifier. After the construction images are identified by edge detection and classifier, a voting algorithm based on mathematical geometry and vector operation will divide the target contour. Then, according to the camera calibration principle, the image pixel coordinates are conversed into the real world Coordinate and the real coordinates would be corrected with the help of the geometric information in BIM model. Finally, the actual engineering quantity is calculated.

  • The purpose of this study was to present the necessity and effect of culvert fishway, based on the absence of design criteria for it which fishes can pass. As an attempt for this purpose, circular culvert fishway were designed hydraulically to meet the passage condition for selected target fish species, and post-monitoring was performed to confirm its effectiveness. In the case of general circular culvert without weir baffles, the target fish species cannot pass because of the constant depth and velocity in the entire reach of the circular culvert, so it was confirmed that resting pools must be installed to help fish passage. In the case of circular culvert with weir baffles, the depth and the mean velocity in resting pool increased by about 240% and decreased by about 70% respectively, which not only satisfied the passage conditions of Zacco platypus that can swim at more than 10 times the speed of body length for 1 to 5 seconds, but also confirmed that various river fish could pass. Post-monitoring results of the restoration reach and fish capture monitoring surveys of circular culvert fishway demonstrated that the target fish species, Zacco platypus, can pass through it.
