직선형으로 Taper진 비대칭 변단면 부재의 탄성임계하중 (The Elastic Critical Loads of Linearly Non-symmetrically Tapered Members)

  • The elastic critical load of a slender compression member plays an important role when the proper design of that member is required. For tapered compression members, however, there are cases when the conventional neutral equilibrium or energy method can't be applied to the determination of critical loads. In this paper, the finite element method is applied to the approximate determination of the linearly tapered members. In this paper, the bars are assumed to be tapered linearly along their axes. The parameters considered in this study are taper parameter, α and the sectional property parameter, m. The member ends are either hinged or fixed. The computed results using the finite element method are represented in the forms of algebraic equations. The regression technique is employed to determine the coefficients of the algebraic equations. Critical loads estimated by the proposed algebraic equations coincide flirty well with those employing the finite element method.

  • 저층 장스팬 철골프레임에는 강재절감을 위해 휨모멘트 저항을 극대화 한 판폭두께비가 큰 변단면 부재를 이용한 PEB시스템을 사용하고 있다. 과다한 외력에 의해 PEB시스템의 붕괴에 대한 안정성을 파악하기 위해서는 변단면 부재의 좌굴거동에 관한 실험 및 해석적 예측은 중요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 변단면의 판폭(춤)두께비(d/t)와 변단면비를 주요 변수로 한 변단면 부재에 대한 실대형 실험을 행하였다. 현행 설계기준, 수정된 Yoda 모델을 이용한 소성힌지해석 및 유한요소해석으로 예측한 초기강성, 내력 및 모멘트-회전각관계에 대해서 실험결과와 비교하였다.

  • It is generally known that the lateral frequency( ω) of the vibration of a prismatic beam-column decreases according to the rele (equation omitted) (ω/sub 0/=natural frequency). In the cases of tapered members, the determination of P/ sub/ cr/(elastic critical load) and ω/ sub 0/ are not easy. Furthermore, the relationship between the compressive load and frequency can not be determined by the conventional analytical method. The axial force-frequency relationship of sinusolidally non-symmetrically tapered members with different shapes were investigated using the finite element method. To obtain the two eigenvalues, the axial thrust was increased step by step and the corresponding frequency was calculated. The result indicated that the axial thrust of the elastic critical load ratio and the square of the frequency ratio can be approximately represented in any case by a straight line. Finally, the linear relationship is also applicable to the sinusolidally non-symmetrically tapered member.

  • This paper is concerned with inelastic load carrying capacity of tapered steel members with or without accumulated plastic strains resulted from previous loading histories. A finite element program is developed using stiffness matrices of tapered members and is applicable for analyses with material and geometric nonlinearity. Results of analyses are compared with other available solutions and with experimental results.

  • Numerical methods are developed for calculating the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the tapered cantilever arches with variable curvature. The differential equations governing the free vibrations of such arches are derived and solved numerically, in which the effect of rotatory inertia is included. The parabolic shape is chosen as the arch with variable curvature while both the prime and quadratic arched members are considered as the tapered arch with variable curvature while both the prime and quadratic arched members are considered as the tapered arch. Comparisons the natural jfrequencies between this study and finite element method SAP 90 seve to validate the numerical method developed herein. The lowest four natural frequencies are reported as a function of four non-dimensional system parameters. The effects of both the rotatory inertia and cross-sectional shape are reported. Also, the typical mode shapes of stress resultants as well as the displacements are reported.

  • One of the most important factors for a proper design of a slender compression member may be the exact determination of the elastic critical load of that member. In the cases of non-prismatic compression member, however, there are times when the exact critical load becomes impossible to determinate if one relies on the neutral equilibrium method or energy principle. Here in this paper, the approximate critical loads of symmetrically or non-symmetrically tapered members are computed by finite element method. The two parameters considered in this numerical analysis are the taper parameter, $\alpha$ and the sectional property parameters, m. The computed results for each sectional property parameter, m are presented in an algebraic equation which agrees with those by F.E.M The algebraic equation can be easily used by structural engineers, who are engaged in structural analysis and design of non-prismatic compression member.

  • 저층 장스팬 철골프레임에는 강재절감을 위해 휨모멘트 저항에 극대화한 판폭 두께비가 큰 변단면 부재를 사용하고 있다. 게다가, 밀착조임 볼트접합은 고장력 볼트조임에 비하여 공사비 절감과 시공용이성의 장점을 지니고 있다. 한편, 밀착조임 엔드플레이트 접합사용에 다수 장점을 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 구조적 거동 및 해석상의 복잡함이 존재한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 밀착조임 엔드플레이트 접합형 변단면 부재에 대한 실대형 실험을 행하였다. 변수로는 체결 토크치, 재하패턴, 볼트종류, 접합부 파괴형이다. Silva et al.과 AISC(2003)에서 제시한 강성 및 내력식을 이용한 예측결과를 실험결과와 비교하였다.

  • It is generally known that the stress and displacement of a member or a system under dynamic load with frequency ω are magnified by the factor 1/[1-(ω/ω/sub 0/)sup/ 2/]. When the member assumes non-prismatic shape, the natural frequency, ω/sub 0/ is hard or impossible to determine if the conventional method are adopted. In these cases, the numerical methods are provide powerful tools for the solution of frequency problems. In this paper, finite element method is applied to determine the natural frequencies of the non-symmetrically tapered members. The shape of the member is assumed to change sinusoidally along its axis. The results obtained by finite element method are expressed by some simple algebraic equations. The estimated frequencies calculated by the proposed equations coincide well with those by the finite element method.

  • 변단면 부재는 Amirikian(1952)에 의해 제안되어 재료 절약적 측면이나 효율적인 구조설계로 인한 경제성 확보를 목적으로 주로 단층의 장스팬 건물이나 빌딩의 켄틸레버 보에 사용되고 있다. 그러나 단면성능만을 고려하여 웨브의 춤을 설계할 때 AISC(201)에서 규정한 변단비를 넘어서거나 비콤팩트, 세장판요소로 설계되어지는 경우가 있어 이에 대한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 변단비와 판복두께비를 주요 빈수로 한 7개의 실험체를 제작하여 반복하중을 받는 변단면 부재의 국부좌굴 특성을 살펴보았다.
